My First Attempt as VJ

Hello All Members,
I hope by now, some of you will notice that there is a change of song which is my first attempt as a VJ today.  I had particularly chosen this song "Rainy Days Mondays" from The Carpenters as it is really raining dogs and cats today.  And today also so happened to be Monday…

I had always been a great fan of The Carpenters since my Secondary school days, are you also.  Yesterday once more, Mr Postman, Top of the World and We had just begun are my favorites.emoticon

Today, eventhough it was raining all day but I still need to get out from home running errands after errands as requested by parents.  Given the fact that I don’t like to carry umbrella, so you can imagine that I was either running or standing at one corner hoping that the rain will stop or at least less downpour so that I can start running again.  emoticon 

Want to have a special song dedication, or request of song for any reasons, please free feel to let me know here, I will try to accommodate as much as I could.  emoticon

  5. Dolly, I know a lot of songs from the 60’s coz when I was a young geena I listened to Rediffusion every day. I copied the lyrics and when the song was played I sang along. I rarely listened to the radio in the 70’s but I love the songs from the 80’s…till today. :)

    My favourite 60’s songs are:-

  10. Congrats on yr new role, Dolly.. Job well done. Carpenters is one of my all time favourite. And rainy days n mondays happens to be my favourite too! Suits the mood these days.. train delays.. economy down.. job cuts.. all the banks reporting millions of loss… etc.. etc.. how to celebrate the new year, huh??

    But hor, cheer up.. we’ve got “Hello Dolly”. Can I request for “Wonderful Tonight”.. for all my dearest frenzs listening in… have a wonderful time tonight.. and everynight..

    FYI, I will only change song on a weekly basis so sin next week is Xmas, TS, I will definitely find a song to represent this occassion lor.

    I had chosen this video, abit lengthy about 11mins which comprises of 8 Xmas songs that were hardly heard b4 either in radio or TV lor.. Hope all of you will enjoy..

    Where did you find this video? The Indian man’s Hokien is any time better than mine. I don’t understand one word of what he is saying. Put me to shame.

    Mebbe I should go for Hokien remedial

    Kong Hee Kong Hee to all, not forgetting wishing everybody here many, many fish, oranges and water (in Hokien of course, but I translated to English for everybody’s convenience)

    Tonite, I selected this CNY songs sung by “China Dolls” – Thai singer. They were very famous some years back but these days, hardly any new songs from them.     It’s more than a month since you started your role as our VJ. I was just watching the video clip on a group of people enjoying their holidays in Thailand and in a massage. I have something to share re Thai culture.

    Obviously, the whole video clip was not done by a Thai. The environment started with a Thai dance in a thai temple environment and ended some where with the singers and dancers in a massage. It is extremely impolite to point the sole of the foot at anybody. The singers were obviously enjoying it. To make it unacceptable, the video clip was done around the a temple environment or theme.

    Anyone who travels to Bangkok and sits on a MRT train, will have noticed that no one cross their legs, so that one foot is higher than the other. By doing so, the higher foot will be pointing at the person opposite him/her. Even ladies do not cross their legs, in public.

    Another reason dat I wanted 2 play this song is cos this is sung by a dotter of a SHC member, care to make a guess…. :)
