  1. Hi Michelle, warm welcome from me another as new member.

Curiosity seldom do anyone any good so do pls come & join us in our activities, take the lead if you can spare the time.

Talking abt Line Dancing, reminds me of an incident 6 years ago. My secretary had asked me for time off to go for the dance. For her good, I said no. I wd hv sinned to abet a pretty, young, petite gal to join the roughy toughies to do the dance. Haha, line dance was so new & unheard off then so I thot she wanted to do lion dance.

  2. Hi Tim Liu

I pick up “lion ” dance only 2 years ago, haha I manage to loss 10 kg. Good about linedance we dont need partner. U like to join the “LION DANCE’ club.

  3. Hi Michelle

Welcome to join SHC. I am glad to know that you are a line dancer and must be a instructor. Would you like to form a line dancing group in SHC, I look forward to join. I have learned line dancing before until 64 walls then give out.

  4. Tks, Michelle, for the invite but being a natural freak, I’ll hv to learn to walk a straightline first and stop my toes from wobbling.

Indeed. I see line dance is a step-up on folk dance, great exercise, fun and a lot more hip. No doubt, some fellow silverheads will be interested if not already avid li-cers

  5. Hi every pals

Thank for your support. I old but young to this club. I not an instructor but have been dancing for 2 years. But I a dance chaser mean I dance very often and running after new dances. But I assure you that it is a interesting exercise and hope we all can share together. However we have to have a place to start we.

  6. Hi Michelle,

If you are ready to lead a Line Dancing group monthly within SHC, we would work towards promoting this activity to all members. By leading, you would have to decide place, a regular time, keep up the forum discussion with your team on the website forum, maybe share cost (got to keep it low) and ensure the taboos of the club are followed.

A key criteria is you would have to join the monthly gatherings so that other SilverHairs know you by face.

Ready to give it a go?

  7. Hahaha, you make it sound so daunting but that is Terence…..straight-talking, sincere, honest, warm, efferversecent…..accolades that can easily fill up one TEU container.

I have come to see SHC as a wholesaler, and we the customers choosing what we like with the like-minded and then dish out the food we like to savour. Thanks to Clara & KC Lau for the lead, some of us hv had a good 4-hour karaoking last sunday, relaxed, no rush. Others find companionship in cycling, walking, sharing biz ideas etc.

Similarly, line dancing shd also enthuse & find a good following.

  8. Hi Michelle

Have always wanted to try line dancing but have yet to get started. Am interested, do let me know if you are starting one.

A Very Merry Christmas and may all Silverhairs be blessed with love, peace, joy, excellent health and prosperity in the new year.

  9. Hi Michelle,
I started line dancing in the middle of last year and I love it. So, if you are forming a line dance group within the SHC, count me in. I am prepared to help teach beginner dances like Electric Slide, Ten Guitars, etc, etc. For further discussion, drop me an email at . Hope to hear from you soon.

  11. Hi Friends

Ms Irene Chan had responsed and she is very supportive that she would like to join in to teach. that great. We will try to find a place to group we LION DANCERS. Tentatively I found one in church at Lavendar. Not very idea and confirm, If anyone of you can propose that will be very good la.
As the year is ending soon, I think beginning of next year will be very good. Hope to near more from you.

  12. Hi everyone,

Let’s get the line moving lah, or else we will need walking sticks with vision goggles, if nothing is getting started soon. Just suggest a place , a time and let get started, and dont worry about the numbers as long there is a teacher, i will be there . A good place to try out is at Paya Lebar MRT , Singapore Post Centre, there is usually a group doing line dance every Fri,Sat night and i think we can join them at least once before they charge us for the music or whatever.

  14. Hi girls and boys

2007, hope everyone have a good start.
I receive quite a handful of reply interest in line dancing. But May I request anyone can assist to suggest a place. Maybe a condominium club house where we pay a min sum of money or other suggestion.

  15. Hi Michelle,

Lily has proposed Far East Center (China Square), on Sat at 6pm, for a small group of beginners to get started, at the same to watch others.

How about preparing a group to learn and do one dance performance for the D & D ? Those who are interested, start moving your butts or Legs , or everything ? Cheers

  16. There is a Line Dance class on Tuesdays from 7pm to 8.30pm at the Bukit Batok East Community Club. The teacher is Jamus Lim. The fee is $55 for one course (12 lessons of one & half hours duration.Works out to about $3per hour) conducted at the airconditioned Dance Studio.

I have been with the class since it started more than 4 years ago. There are about 12 of us in the class. We go every week just for fun. We stick to elementary and simple intermediate dances as most of us are “Half Century Club” members so we don’t want dances with too many complicated steps.

You are welcome to join the class any time. Fees are pro-rated if you join the class after the first of the 12 lessons.

  17. This info is for the benefit of those living in or around Hougang Ave 4 or 8. The Ci Yuan Community Club is starting a new class on the 31st of Jan 2007. The instructor is Justin Tan. He speaks Mandarin and English. The fee is the same as at Bukit Batok East C C. The Dance Studio is also air-con. At the moment, the class only has 6 students.

I’ve been with the class for 3 courses and I find that this particular instructor teaches at the student’s pace. Maybe it’s because the class is so small, so he can afford to do so.
Anyway, we also focus on elementary and simple intermediate dances even though the student’s ages range from 20+ to 50+.

If you live nearby and are keen to take up line dancing as a hobby, I encourage you to sign up at this C C.,you won’t regret the decision.

    Hope to see ya there!
