Cooking Demo & Handicraft Group

I love to crotchet, make 3-dimensional origami swans, baskets, trays, jewellery-sets with beads & crystals & prepare to teach.

It will be good to have cooking demo in member’s home only for those non-working retired.

I am interested to teach handicraft or organise making of handicrafts to donate to old folks home for sale.

Hi Patricia, welcome to SHC and it seems Santa must have directed you to our doorsteps, as we are waiting for someone just like with all the right passions, craft, food and a good heart to join our Retirement Village group. In fact we are also planning an Xmas Bazaar of passions, sort of a preview for our group to understand each other passions, sample or view their products this 27th Dec and also to write our proposal for the Starhub Passions competition.     Now i know who you are, sure let more members try out your healthy recipes of cakes, using creative use of alternative ingredients for healthy living. Be sure to join our Potluck and other gatherings, and maybe you can work out a project to write a new recipe books, of your healthy diet creative recipes, with SHC members.

    Hey, Pat, bring that special recipe of that Thai Salad using melon right, and hot chilli. Almost got fooled thinking it was the real thing and taste even better since it is made of only healthy ingredients. Jan 13th is our pot luck day, but will see you on the 27th Dec, and let us see samples of other SHC members passion also ?

    I am interested in handicraft, I do made a lot of necklace, bracelet by using crystals, beads, gem stones,etc. Do include me in your handicraft and cooking class. If you want to teach crotchot, please keep me informed also.

  8. The idea of cooking demos has wide appeal among SilverHairs. There are discussions around on how these sessions can be conducted.

    Conducting these sessions in the home seems ideal, but due to limited capacity, such sessions can only be conducted in small groups. I guess once the groups get to know each other better, inviting to the home would work.

    SHC does not have a kitchen or a Kopi Thiam.

    Usually, invitation to the home hits a snag because not everybody knows one another well enough to extend the invitation. I recommend all of you join the next gathering, maybe the Pot Luck, and get to know one another.

    I am a new member and Jill of all trade. Pick up knitting from books. But only do scarves and hats. If u are doing anything for the old folks home, would like to be included.

I m able 2source frm my frnds’ factories rattan, curtain/upholstery matls, zips(got 2hurry as they r shifting 2China soon), 2make into beautiful products eg coin purses, carrying bags, n anything afa ur creative juice can stretch. Take a trip 2d 2nd flr Suntec City (pushcarts corrider) u can view these end-products (made in China) using zips (made in US). I can request some of my frnds 2show those who r interested how 2make those bags w/zips n/or w/other mtls available. I can also show how 2crotchet carriers 2hold wtr btls 2bring 2school or outings.   15. Hi Pat. I would like to learn how to make jewellery with crystals, beads and wood. If you are conducting classes, pls include me. I do not mind paying course and material fees. However, as I am still working, I can only attend classes during weekends.
