Online Fleamart relaunched

The SHC website is not designed conveniently for members to sell their new or unwanted items, services, food items, rent their premises or sell their cars.  We have heard your feedback for some months; and the website is now relaunched.

Please feel free to advertise any product or services.  For example:

  1. Renting out your car on a daily or weekly basis.
  2. Offering home made food, bread or pastries.
  3. Conducting courses in finger massage, using the internet or learning Indonesia or how to bowl?
  4. Undersized dresses or clothes, which you no longer use.
  5. Toys, sofas, television, walking sticks, unwanted PCs, bags
  6. Renting or selling your 5-room apartment.
  7. Conducting hobbies classes, swimming, Chinese chess, etc.
  8. Anything.

This is open to the public, and not limited to SilverHairs.  So, please look into your store, or sell your skills and services.  Have fun!.

  1. When SHC first started, we had requests to conduct flea markets, and allow the website for selling all things. It didnt work well. Guess many do not have too many unwanted stuffs in the house.

Some of us have discussed this activity as early as two years ago. We then started 2GreenDots. It did not work too well too, so we revamped it.

To restart, i would be prepared to help 10 SilverHairs get started. If you make cakes, and offer your services. If you like to offer tuition at home. If you have 10 unwanted items in your house, have a PC with internet connection, and would like to adverture with 2GreenDots, and not so sure how, please raise your hands.

Will also show you how to upload photogrpahs from a digital camera to your PC. Easy for some; difficult or unsure for others.

Will show you how. It’s not free, the charge is 2 cans of Coke light (Must be at least 5deg C or as cold as ice). I am usually not available on weekends.

On and off, we read of “Selling Online”, as an activity for retired SilverHairs. The ability to sell, even when away from home. Yew Kwong is a strong supporter and actively buys and sells on the web. Let’s get started with a solid team. To the first 10 participants.

And, if you like to try, and prepared to teach others, do let me know.

  2. I give strong support to Terence in this initiative.

I m available on most Sat morning, the earlier the better. Preferable if a group of 3 to 4 can be accomodated at member’s home wif a PC, digital camera and broadband internet access.

My cost is just 2 big glasses of coffee black wif little or no sugar.

  3. Hi Daniel,

May I suggest you start a separate Post for baking and drums. Details added will be helpful. Give it a go, and you can see how many takers there are. I am sure you will have many members wanting to learn from you.

to learn to cook. Yummy, yummy ……..

    Ann Lim

  10. Hello Daniel,

You are finally back in the scene. Hee, “GINKO”, one more for my little black book.

Oh, oh Daniel, have you written something naughty? Posting “censorship” or what? Administrator, Yew Kwong, Dolly SOS… Daniel needs help.

  11. Daniel, you serious or not? I also love to eat wan hor, got “sedap” receipt must share share hor. When is the cooking class starting? I want to enrol leh.
Ha..ha..ha.. don’t judge the book by its cover…”siow siow” correct or not?

    Ah Nee.

  12. Hi Daniel,

A moment ago, I helped submitted, on your behalf, your post for posting.

Hope it works. Otherwise, it shouldn’t be long before it’s up. We have got a superduper team behind the scene as well… right guys?

  13. Hi Daniel,
Normally you hv to save your post for first few post of which Terence will vet and publish out for you. In my opinion, so long you hv save your post, it will be published in a day or two, rite, Terence..

Nevertheless, I will gladly to assist you in the initial posting. See if we can spare some time next Tuesday to discuss on this.. All of us gone thru’ this kind of teething stage before so no worry lor..

Maybe hor. YewKwong, you hv to conduct a class on this le.. seems like everyone is having some sort of problems.

  14. Gingko, if you help to publish Daniel’s post on his behalf, he might not be able to edit later at his end so I suggest that he post it on his own after all I am sure the baking/cooking post is definitely going to attract lots of comments lor… rite, Daniel?? Of cos, unless you will be helping him to edit this post from time to time den like dat ‘mei wun ti’ lor..

  15. Hi Dolly,

Yes I did save..maybe more than ten times…hehe, still see nothing.
But i am able to see it if I am logged in.

Anyway, which days are better for all of you, are you all retired or tai tai’s huh?

I am free most days unless there is an appointment.
Or can also do it at my place in JB.

    Rgds

    Uncle Daniel…lol

  16. I can’t be bothered to learn how to cook. So, can I volunteer to be a taster? Do I have to go to JB to taste your food? Don’t know any man who have such culinary skills like you leh.

Dolly is right about (seemingly) difficulty in posting. Just be patient. After your 3rd posts, the rest will be published almost immediately. We all went through the same thing.

  17. Great!!!! Maybe an observer cum taster cum financier, how about that?
Suggesting JB becos bigger palce ma.My abode now is kind of small.

Well maybe I am not from this planet…lol

Ok ok….I am very patient one.

    UD

  18. wahpiangzoi, me full time employee la so hv 2 wrk in d day.. just show you how 2 post, no nid 2 go JB, you wil be attending the 17July gathering, rite, we can discuss there lor.. I will bring along my laptop to show you lor.. That’s is the best option for me liao.. ho bo??

  19. Ok lor…yes i will be attending the meet up on 17th.
I can only take maybe 5 or 6 persons who keen to learn.
Perhaps those who are keen to learn can indicate which dish do you all want to learn, its easier to organise. Then you can have it for your lunch…hehe.
Maybe 2 dishes at a time, 1 meat and 1 vegetable dish,or something like mee siam.

    gd nite……zzzzzzzzz

  20. Hello Su,

No need lah, just get few of you and let me know which of the dishes from the menu you all want to learn lor.

JB Is another matter altogehter….maybe an outing.

  21. ok, let me discuss with Molly, Gingko and Ah Nee. Pls reserve the 4 of us for learning. Ann, you joining us, are you ?

Daniel, where & when ? Let us know pls.

    Thank you.

  22. Ok, my place is in Hougang.

Preferably Sat morning, then you all can have what is taught for lunch….if have extra can tah pau also…..:))

  23. Interesting. But why no auction. Part of the fun of shopping is bargaining. And if you want to acquire half a bino, then you need a value of such priceless one-of-its-kind item. Especially flea market or used items.

Look at power rider at $100. Ebay has one at $30 expiring in 2 days.

Why don’t we just leverage a Ebay chapter and use 2dots to simply highlight members items and interesting items from auction sites.

We can make also market together. You bid me, I bid you.

Now where did I leave my used gold taps from a private kidney collection?

  24. Susan, please include me in the learning group leh.
Daniel, I would like to join them in the learning, can? You have tempted me with dishes from your Grandma’s kitchen and I would like to learn whichever dish you are teaching.

  25. Hi Cheng,

Ok noted.Perhaps you can make arrangements with Susan.Like I mentioned a group of 5-6 will be comfortable…..:))

    G’day!

    UD

  26. Hi Suzhang, Daniel ..

Sure, I’m in for it, let’s cook up a storm ! Hougang, Sengkang, Chua Chu Kang or Phua Chu Kang, anywhere, anytime, fine with me !

Btw, anyone interested to join us (Bessie and me) for a shopping cum makan feast in Skudai, JB, for Beggar’s Chicken, Oyster Rice, Pi Pa Toufu, Chang Sheng Pu Lao Soup etc… to name a few.

We intend to drive, so if you can, try to group amongst yourselves with the driver. Costs for food and petrol will be shared accordingly. To beat the traffic, we suggest
a weekday. Further details later, depending on response.

    Cheers
    Ann Lim / Bessie Lam

  27. Hi Cheng/Gingko/Molly/Ah Nee/Ann

Cheng, didn’t know you are interested. Of course, you are welcome to join us lah. So, Daniel, 1st lesson, you’ve got 6 students : Susan, Gingko, Cheng, Molly, Ah Nee and Ann.

What dish do you gals prefer ? I am interested to learn beef rendang and Ayam BuahKeluak for a start.

Ann, your proposed trip to JB : Weekday is no good for me unless I take leave lah. I just came back with Molly & Ah Nee for makan and shopping too after our Batam trip last Monday. That’s where we met Daniel Kang too – what a coincidence. Yes, it would be nice to go in a group of 4 or 5 to be safe. Pls email Gywneth if you are going JB as she told me she is interested. Molly might be able to join you gals as she is not working.

As of now, I won’t be going shopping so soon as I’ve just stock up my groceries last week. For makan or go manicure/pedicure, can lah. Maybe we can arrange 1 Friday afternoon to go? Pls email me : suechang255@gmail.com

    Thanks,
    Susan

  28. Aiyo, Dolly-san thank you kindly for reminding me. Edit, edit, edit, of course! Must get some tuition from you on posting too, can?

Uncle Daniel, I see your post is already uploaded so you can expect long queue from Hougang to… JB?? Wa, can learn to cook, can eat on the spot, can tah pau home some more, this is more than I expected…

Susan, Maybe we should set a convenient Saturday quickly lor. Don’t want to be caught having Hi-tea and dinner and cannot shake off for this cooking camp… ;-)

  29. I thought there’s a Yan Can Cook – now we have a Dan Can Cook too…ha..ha..

Ok – Daniel can we set 28Jul – afternoon about 2pm pls ? hello, the rest, ok or not ?

  30. Hi KT,

Some two years ago, 2GreenDots was conceived as a classified, flea market style website. There were no plans at that time for an auction, so the designer had this as an advertisement classified site.

Yeap, I do agree auction has its fun in bargaining. Meantime, SilverHairs can use eBay, Yahoo’s, etc. We may pick up your a a later date.

    Terence Seah

  31. Susan, If date and time okay with Daniel, it’s fine with me.

Daniel, I am no Tai Tai or Retiree, just hope we are not robbing you of your precious weekend. I know some Siew Yehs prefer to plod around their gardens, tend to bonsai, orchids, kois or listen to their mata-putehs croon…

  32. Hello Susan, I taught Daniel mentioned preferably on Sat morning then can have lunch. If afternoon, then is for dinner lor. For me anything, lunch or dinner also “boleh”. I would love “Assam Fish”, can include this dish in lesson 1? yummy yummy…..

    Ah Nee.

  33. Hi Suzhang,

Can I join your group on 28th to learn as well. I used to have a cookbook with such recipes but it was thrown away by my ex sometime back. Usually still had to refer to the book when cooking such goodies. I would like to learn the authentic granny’s recipe.

  34. Hi Susan,

I am not able to make @ 2pm on Sat 28th as I have music practice in church.

I have already set the date on 28th @ 10.30 am.

You can try and join us for lunch….:))Sorry hor.

    UD

  35. Ok Daniel, 28th July, 10:30 is fine with me. So is it confirmed that you are taking in : Susan, Molly, Ah Nee, Gingko, Ann Lim, and Oi Cheng pls ? Looks like Dan can cook lesson is getting very popular. Daniel, you are the sifu – so can you allocate the class size and whom shld attend this 1st lesson pls? I chope with you earlier, but realised this afternoon, there are people who are still interested… so how ? I don’t want to be the bad guy to say no. You decide can ? or maybe arrange another date for the 2nd batch of people lor. I am still intersted to learn durian puffs and brownies if possible.

    Thanks,
    Susan

  36. Hi Daniel & Girls,

I am also interested in brownies, durian puffs, shepherd pies etc.I am sure all of you have a good makan during the first session.Maybe can join in for the next round & have some fun. Saturday is a good day since most of us are not working. Will be looking forward to the next date. Thank you.

    Thank you.

  38. Hi Terence

It seems there is no alert when a new item is placed at 2Greendots. Am I right?
If this is the case, I would like to take this opportunity to inform all visitors to this website that I have placed a book (Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows)on sale at 2Greendots. Thanks.

    Regards,
