Recently, Yew Kwong suggested that we add a counter to our website SilverHairsClub.com. Personally, I am reluctant to add the counter as it has negative implications too. That’s why the counter was not added earlier.
In view of his wisdom, I have agreed. A counter has been added at the bottom of our website. This was added on the 15 Aug 2013, starting from 0000.
So, let’s try and monitor the counter. Will be useful to our committee too. Thank you Yew Kwong.

If the counter reflects the number of people visiting SHC’s site, I must say the site
it’s quite popular, averaging 4000+ hits per day since 15 Aug.
It also shows that although physically, there are not many people participating in events, there are many silent followers/members who visit the site regularly.
Have more vibrant, diversified & interesting topics/posts and it will lead to more
eyeballs to the site . Thus increasing SHC popularity and (hopefully) members.
Just a thought…….
Maybe, if each member is to post a topic/week for discussion (like Geralding’s recent postings) it will boost SHC rating further.

The counter is quite a good gauge of how well visited is the forum page.
Seems positive with more than 31,000 visits since 15 Aug ? ~ a whopping 5,200 per day! Not bad.

As a virtual club, it is important to have topics that interest members to join in the conversation as you rightly stated that many may not participate in events but they do visit the site regularly.
May I suggest that you start a Post for us to chat?
