Mt Faber 8Sep07

Monthly walks are held every 2nd Saturday of the month, once scheduled, rain or shine we will be there!    Thunder & lightning, we shall all be hiding!

NOTE:  Our next walk will be on 13October, likely another Place of interest! Post will be up earlier.

Dear Walkists!
We had the best participation – 48 came to scaled Mt Faber and we did it in good pace.

So, give yourself a pat…. no nooooo…. 2 pats for getting to the Top!       emoticon

A lovely day it was, Mr. Sun, we did not see; umbrellas did not appear!
mmmhmmm  Did TimL kept his word?

I wish to acknowledge the ‘Spirit’ and extend sincere thanks to:

PhilipW: more than once, assumed the photographer’s role without question.

DanH: his 1st walk with us, yet came with camera in hand ready to shot.

Lum : took time off from his busy sched, shared some warm up tips & helped

in moving the troupe along.

Andrew: strong supporter! helped in moving the group along.

DaisyP & RonaldL: took the challenge, definitely not ‘Time-out’ yet!

and all 48 participants  — it is YOU, your enthusiasm that has made this walk a Delight!

Here are the photos by our 2 photographers…..

ps:  My apology to those who took my indication of 2hrs & had placed parking
coupons for exactly this time frame.  We had lingered Xtra time.

Also, have noted your feedback with regards to the walk at P. Ubin.
Next year, we shall plan another trip there to make good.

 THANX guys…..  c u soooon….

 Stay Cool!  Be Cool!         emoticon

  1. Hello christina and the 48 participants,
Congrats on your climb to Mt Faber. Full of envious when I saw the pics. Wished I was there. You all seemed to have fun up there.

Hope to join you for the next trip, Chris.

    Have a good day,
    Jane

  2. Deep appreciation to Christina, Lum Fook, Philip, Dan and all fellow SHCians on this walk making my 1st encounter with the group so funfilled…walking down memory lane…really tickles my heart…will go on…thanks a million!

  3. CarolineG, thanks for the thought. Glad you enjoyed the walk….hhmmm your ‘dan tian’is good, as I hear you all the way but, need to work your legs more la, see you next walk ;)
Even bowling, if you have not bowled for long, I mean long time, the bum & legs hurts, really hurts ouch!
Btw, I’ll be seeing you, Suzchang and others this Sat, now that Andrew is not there, please help me up when I fall, okey, sie sie le.

  4. Its my pleasure Christina. Yes, I need to work my legs more than my mouth. But when you are with friends, you talk lah otherwise when I go home, I get to talk to the wall.

No worries. I’ll be there. Just call me but your what you call it “dan tian” must be good too otherwise with so many people, might not be able to hear you ha! ha!

But then not to worry cos we have many “Ying Siong” around to catch you when you fall :)

    See you Sat

  5. Chris, you hv done very well, amassing a good turnout of 48 strong and getting the sun-godd to take time-off. Walkists looked happy altho some not too ready for fotography and that must be bcos they werent tempted with “ready…cheese”.

Noted that some brought umbrellas which shd hv been borrowed by those who needed a quick descent, to add time to their expiring parking coupons so no fault of Chris if they hadnt done that.

Insofar as tim’s keeping of his word is concerned, yes, he enjoys a tougher test such as the rugby cruncher btwn South Africa & England 2nite, or walking up not a hill slightly larger than a mole, but walking up a coconut tree.

Chris, will any of the foregoing be in the challenge for us on 13 October 2007 ?

  6. Dear All,

Glad to see so many people going for the walk. Like Jane said, will try and join in the next time round even if my legs can’t take it. It sure looks fun from the photos but I bet it’s even better when you’re there with all the lovely people around you.

Keep up the spirit and keep the SHC torch burning. Have a great day everyone. Kind regards, Lisa

  7. Hi Christina,

This is my 2nd Walking event since the Ubin trip as I joined SHC only in July. Both trips are well thought out and organised. Thanks to you and Veron, photographers and helpers.

From the happy faces and chattering, movement became secondary, and I can tell that everyone enjoyed the event.

Keep up the spirit and many more will be walking behind you!!

    Cheers
    Alice Seah

  8. CarolinaG, my #4.. your ‘dian tian’ or ‘qi’ is good, some might be a little ‘breathless’ ;) I would be have I not been walking often.
Surely, u are the livewire at gatherings & parties. :D

  9. hi Christina, thanks for your concern. first time lucky with you leading us, we were spared for exceeding our parking time. was a very enjoyable n healthy outing, esp the climb! and the participants were all so friendly. thanks again for the afternoon, Chris!

thanks also to Lum Fook who co-led us. very friendly and open except you suddenly disappeared towards the end? anyway, hope to catch up with you again.

to Jane n Lisa: hope to see u at the next walk!

    with kind regards….john howe

  10. Hi Christina,

Aiyo, excuse me, so late to come say THANK YOU to you for all the preparations, hard work and super efficiency in organizing the walk/climb to Mt. Faber. THANK YOU!

Was MCC (Mak-Chak-Chak & Mong-Cha-Cha) for four days, now MCC (Mak & Mind Clear Clear) liao!

Frankly, I enjoyed the “outing” very much. Met so many SHC friends again. Chatting, walking, climbing, appreciating and learning the Mt. Was amazed it was such a smooth and easy climb. I was a bit apprehensive a few days before, but geh-geh-ai (Teochew). Two hours of walking/climbing was such a breeze. Hee, easier than I thought.

Oh ya, thanks for telling and pointing out the cashew tree. Never occurred to me that it exists in Singapore! A valuable lesson learned. Thanks! Wonder if there’s any GINKGO tree in Little Red Dot too.

  11. Hi hi Christina

Thanks for the paper balls. Since you do not want to accept payment, will buy you coffee or tea when the opportunity arise. Hope to see you sometime soon. :) Lily

  12. Hi Randy,

We enjoy the NICE company of both you and your wife and sharing your “humorous” experiences while working in San Francisco.

I too had seen the shadows of a Dirty Old Man in Topless Bar using a tiny torchlight to inspect the “golf” hole on the table.

And for that “disgusting” act, he has to pay for it.

You know what I meant ?

Btw,thanks for your lift to Changi Point and welcome abroad to join our Noah’s Ark.
    Steven Chan
