croquet anyone?

Hi anyone interested in croquet? Its  a game played with long handled wooden mallets on a green….. a lawn .The player hits the ball thro a series of wickets or hoops.  It’s somewat like golf but yet its diferrent .Good for those who want a slow but yet stimulating exercise. The problem is …..Does anyone know of a place where its played n a coach who could coach us? I am very interested in playing this game.Please raise yr handemoticon

  1. Grace, for this game, there is one spot very popular at bishan, a field next to two coffee shops, Bishan Street 24. You find many players in the morning about 8 to 9.30am almost daily.
    Check with the RC to find out more details.

    I saw some people playing a croquet like game at the Pasir Ris Park. There are demarkations on the grass too and the area is reserved for this game only.
    If you want to play the game, you have to make a booking at the Pasir Ris CC near Elias Mall.
    I would like to learn to play this game if anyone else is interested.

    if I do understand this game correctly it is quite similar to golf only that the “club” is shorter and hitting the ball into its “goal post”. There is another site in Bishan along St. 11 next to Bishan Loft. Had seen residents playing however am not sure if booking is required. Tot an additional venue would be of interest.

  6. Very dissimilar.

    Imagine Tiger Woods missing holes but scoring goals even if he’s lost deep in the woods.

    A game good for relaxation tho, cheaper, no caddy to pay & you need only 1 club, not a bagful of irons…………………….
