Swimming at Changi Beach club, Sun 25 May 2008

I see some SHCians like to swim. Am going to CBC on Sun 25 May 2008, 0900 – 1200 hrs for a swim. You are invited, if you love to swim in a rectangular size pool. If you like to see submarines between P Ubin and Singapore mainland, also can come. Sometimes, they surface, with their periscope up. The last I saw a submarine was 20 years ago. Have a chit chat, also boleh. If you are coming, I shall take care of entrance fee. You can order your own drinks or breakfast there at CBC. Have a relaxing Sunday morning then. Do register here, if coming.

  1. Hi Terence,

Swimming is also one of my favorite sport! i will be there.

Hope it don’t clash with my bedminton game. Torn between two ‘lovers’!!

    Danz

  2. Hi Terence,
I like that place, so peaceful and uncrowded. Haven’t swum for a while now, so may just go there for the ambience and a chat.
Submarines? Haha. Sure or not? Perhaps they were snorklers with extra large snorkles??
I will see what snacks I can bring. It’s allowed right?

  3. Hi Mary,

The comment must have dropped into the mnoderation Q. But, no worries, it is up now. Just got off this flying machine in Chenai.

Sure, and this time, you have got to get your hair wet. Yeah. I love making fun of people too.
    Got your name down.

  4. Hi Terence

Sure, you would prefer young mermaids, the really beautiful and SYT ones.

With submarines, can see more, right?

Went into one submarine when I was in Vladivostok in June 2000. The guards even put the commander’s uniform on me.

    Cheers,

  5. Hi Terence!
Pl count me in. Yeh! Beginning of my holis! Happen to be free la!
Tku & God Bless U for letting us there!
    Catherine Ho

  6. Hi Dan,

You can have both loves, the 3rd and 4th also. Why not ask Terence if he can booked badminton there also ?

So we can play badminton early at 9am, then have a swim at 11 am, followed by bowling (other love) there and have one or two B.Mary’s by the quiet scenic seaside of Changi and also dancing maybe ??.

  7. MaryC, pls tell me where is the duck wet and I promise to dry it up with my hands………yes, a duck not a drake (very the aslamak if that makes our smartie look up the dictionary again for what a drake is……………ok, it’s a type of ABS brake lah !)

  8. RonW, you seem to have the whole day already planned, badminton, then swimming, then bowling, then bloody marys and then DANCING. Dancing? Did I hear you say dancing? I’ll look forward to that. Maybe I should bring my dancing shoes too huh? But they won’t go well with shorts will they?
I think you are dreaming. I can bet you, you won’t wake up early enough to make it there by noon. Dream on.

  9. Terence,

Pls include me for this event.

    Mary C

I may swim this time. Will bring my swimming stuff but I swim “longkang” style because I have a phobia about being underwater.
I may just laze around and watch all of you swim.

  10. Hi Dan, Terence, Mary,

Just echoing what Dan feel like doing, i know he can do all that in one day. In fact he has been doing that most sundays running from East to West.

So guess if Terence says no badminton at Changi, Dan has to drive back to Tensenhonn for badminton, then MJ somewhere , and dancing at Clementi or somewhere in the evening. He is so full of energy and warmth meeting and enjoying everyone company and also a good organiser. Cheers to you Dan, since you started the first badminton game, you have not stopped organising and sharing your many loves with others.

Mary wrong about me lah, I have woken up earlier before the sun rise going after holes, 18 to be precise but not just for one lah, not enough motivation.

But ok let us get some practice at Kembangan to recall whatever we can and join the many dancers now in SHC, who seems to be willing to go anywhere there is a jam.

  11. Ronald Wie,

Not sure whether i still have that kind of energy for all these activities at my age! Just feel that the only way to meet new friend is through sharing common interest.

Swim n Gym was mooted by me, but still could not get it off the ground. Swimming alone is easy. Thanks Terence for choosing this venue for a time of exercise and relaxation by the pool!

Wonder whether CBC have a dance floor, good to practice all the dance that I am learning now!

Ronald Wie. I envy you going after 18 holes before the sun rises! Golf is not one of my suitor yet. Miss you at our dance passion last night!

Terence, next Games Day can we have swimming competition and telematch?

    Danz

  12. Caroline. I will bring my swim suit but don’t know if I will swim. Depends on how tempting the water will be. I too swim ‘longkang’ style, hehe. Btw, where did this term ‘longkang style’ come from?

  13. RonW,
Let’s see if you can really remember the R n R steps. You will have to do the leading. I won’t. I’m now into salsa and it’s a great dance, even more fun than R n R.
Oh, so you think you can just go to the jam in Kembangaan and ‘revise’ huh? I doubt if you can. Anyway, see you at the Kembangaan jam.

  14. Hi Mary C @ 19,

Indeed you are right. Must have forgotten to take my gingko leaf extract this morning. Or was yesterday???

Must visit my tattooist to engrave the date, but then again I can’t remember his tel.

So what’s happening on the 25th again?

  15. Ron and all dancers

My sis is a member at the Tamasek Club and we can use the dancing hall there – it is usually very quiet and not much of a crowd on weekday. They have life-band for the whole week except Sunday and drink prices are rather cheap.
Let me know the group of dancers want to practice their dance steps.

  16. Aiyah Charles Chua, better up the dosage of your gingko biloba before you forget how to get home even.
It’s Terence’s gathering at the Changi Beach Club remember? You said you were interested. Or perhaps it was somewhere else that you got it mixed up with.
Don’t become a ‘lau ah pek’ so soon lah.

  17. Hi Karen,

Thanks for offering us dancers the premises at Temasek club through your sister. I have yet to meet up with you.

Last time you responded to the Jam n Karoeke at Safra at Mount Faber. I responded to you jokingly because your post was repeated five times. Hope you don’t take offense by my reply to you.

As dancers, we are keeping a lookout for alternative venue for our dance practices. Perhaps we can find time to meet up at the Temasek Club to discuss the possibility of having a Jam session there?

    Danz,
    Event Organizer.

  18. Hi! Terence and all

I wish to join the grp, not swimming but just counting the waves washing the shore !!
See you on 25-May before noon.

  19. Sarah,

you are welcome to come and count the waves. We can sit and face the Straits of Ubin, waiting for the submarines to surface.

    Terence Seah

  20. Hello,

Hope to get a glimpse on the submarine, watching the “dolphins” and chatting up with my friends on a beautiful sunday..be seeing you too!
