  1. Thanks Geraldine.
I have also sent the itinerary to every participants via pte email. You should received it by now….. Wow, not easy to track 40 people.

Dear Lorraine, I do not have email address of Alice Teo Chai Chin. Please pass info to her or give me her email address. Thanks.

    Dear Paul Kong
Need to trouble you to pass info to Pearl Goh or give me her email address. Thanks.

    Dear All,
I will send reminder nearer to departure date, and will sms last minute reminder and wake-up call on 14 morning.

Thank you all who made this trip possible, and my sincerest apology to those who could not make it for this trip.

    Warmest Regards / Lily :)

  2. Hi Everyone

The following have been sent to all participants together with attached room arrangements & cost breakdown for all to peruse.

Also, here’s the list of things you should take note of :
    ——————————————————-
Wake-up calls will be sent out to all at 6.00am on 14 Nov. by the various EOs incharged. Kindly acknowledge by return sms, so we won’t have to send again or call.

Remember to bring your valid PASSPORT. Put it together with your belonging when packing for the trip so you won’t forget.

Be at Harbour Front latest by 8.00am on 14 Nov. preferably earlier to avoid last minute rush as I need to collect all your passports and submit them to IndoFalcon ticketing office for the ferry tickets, hotel & meal vouchers.

If you arrive late and missed the boarding time, I will have to stay back to accompany you and catch the next ferry on our own, make our own way to the hotel and missed the day tour, meals, massage, etc. So, please DO NOT BE LATE.

Things you might want to consider bringing along :
    ————————————————
Mosquito repellant, suntan lotion, hats or umbrella.
swimsuit or gym wear, personal medications, personal belongings.

You will be able to sing during each meal time as I will try to arrange to have our own KTV room for lunch and dinner. So, bring your own DVDs in case they don’t have the songs you want.

Tea bags, 3-in-1 coffee and kettle available in every room but you might want to bring your own beverages. 2 bottles of mineral water provided in each room.

For alcoholic drinks, you can buy duty-free from the ferry terminal on both sides.

The price you pay covers everything except for personal shopping. Not all shops except credit cards, so having some rupiahs with you is advisable. How much depends on individual. Norlinda & Bira – or others, might be able to enlighten on this?

Old rupiahs with ex-president’s face on the notes are not useable once they change president.

    Thank you for the attention.

  3. Hi Lily,

You are indeed a very responsible and organised EO, thank you very much. Looking forward to this exciting trip.

  5. Hi Lily/others,

I fully agree to Dolly comment #8, we should scrap the waiting proposal. If we plan properly our time to leave the house we should be able to reach harbourfront on time. Morning call only wake ppl up but how to get there is still our responsibility.

    Cheers.

  6. #5 Thanks Lily for being a meticulous EO.

Anyway, I have a gentle advice: include a torch in your packing list will come very handy when need arises.

  9. Hi
Sorry for not replying sooner as I was sick for 2 days. Here’s the reply with regards to your request / enquiries :

Lydia – already resent attachment to your email address lydiaykchin@yahoo.com.sg hope you received it this time.

James – Thanks for the reminder to have a good time myself. As for your query, extension is @ S$40 per person per night ie. S$80 for twin sharing per night.

Ah Nee – during my recce trip, because I don’t use hairdryer so, did not pay attention to it. I don’t remember seeing one. So, if you must have hairdryer, it would be safer to bring your own.

Jonson – unlikely to move the massage immediately after lunch because it is not healthy to do so. We might be able to move it forward one or two stops for those who are not interested in shopping. But, you will still have to wait for the rest to finish their shopping and massage even when you are done. This is what package tour is all about. We move as a group. Hope to have your understanding.

Dolly & Jane – thanks for your objection to my waiting for late comers. During our EO meeting, Dolly & the rest of EOs are right that I should be with the majority rather than be with the late comers.

So, sorry for THOSE WHO COME LATE, YOU WILL BE ON YOUR OWN.

All the above replies have been disseminated to all participants via pte email as well and my mobile no. is also given in the email.

  10. Hey Lily,

Sorry to hear that you were sick. Speedy recovery.

    Hi Jonson,

Can’t wait for your massage? Kekekkekee. Calm down……..wait for us!!

  12. Dear Geraldine & Sam
Thanks for your get-well wishes. Was on MC for 4 days last week. Have not fully recovered but still need to function at work this week till late in the evening that’s why did not respond sooner. Sorry about that.

Dear EOs YK & Dolly (myself included)
Please do a test run sms to those under your charge by today to make sure the mobile numbers are correct. (Sam, you’ve already done it – so, no need for you to repeat the exercise.)

    Dear Batam troopers
When you received the sms, please kindly acknowledge receipt so we know your number is correct and working. Thanks for your co-operation.

COUNT DOWN – 2 days to go. Batam, here we come ! :)

  13. We had our morning sms call from our co-EOs. Everybody went past immigration. Jonson still waiting behind, not sure if he can come through, as he lost his immigration card. Well, yeah Batam here we come. Our two ladies Lily and Dolly very strict. Got to be on time.

Terence Seah (reporting from inside our boat)

  14. Jonson came through immigration, not sure how? Gee, started shopping spree on landing. Went to Polo Ralph Lauren, Indonesia Polo, two shopping centres, lunch a Golden Prawn, some sage singing, and now on the way to foot, body and back massage. Havn’t seen hotel yet.I and Sam have our hair cut.

Terence Seah (reporting from Batam island)

  15. Dear Lily & assistant EOs,

Thanks for organising this weekend gateway to Batam for us. We had a jolly good time…….shopping at Golden Truly, lunch at Golden Prawn 933, dinner at Golden Prawn 555 and stayed at Golden View Hotel…. What a wonderful golden opportunity to be with Geraldine & Ivy, the 2 lovely SHCians ladies who flew in from HK to join us on this trip. :)

  16. Hi EO & Co-EO

Thanks for the weekend trip ..we enjoyed ourselves so much and laughed till we really drop….Sam – watch out for SOckie photo, she is going to blackmail u ….Hope Dolly is not going to get “too” angry with it (hahaha)

What surprised me was when we are given that list of “Exhange Rate” list …the 4 EOs really go all way to make thing so easy for us and spoilting every each of us like a small kid….well taken care of and well fed as well.

Gingko/Sockie/Meow – Don worried , Karen got no problem and just enjoying her drink at the Bar counter – safe & sound (haha) – thanks to all that showed so much concern.

    karen

  20. Haha Terence,
I didn’t know you were reporting live! Had I knew, I would have put on my best behaviour. ;) Jonson came thru and was able to board the ferry bcos Dolly & I winked at the officers mah…….hehehe.

Thanks Suzhang, Karen, Carly, Geraldine & Oi Cheng for your encouraging words.

Special thanks to Molly and Bira who took initiative and rendered assistance whenever necessary. Also to the 2 photographers – Sockie & Boon Liang, who are ever ready to “shoot”.

Last but not least, to all who came on board – THANK YOU for your patience & tolerance. It is everyone’s participation, co-operation and understanding that made or break an event.

So, THANKS TO ALL OF YOU for such a wonderful time. :)

Thumbs up to the EOs, very well organised, truly enjoyed this trip with everyone on board.

Thanks Lily#24, all photos are detailed from start to end of our Batam journey…for everyone fond memories of this trip.

It’s not easy to plan, organise and co-ordinate such outdoor weekend getaway but you guys made it.

Also, kudos to all on board for the fun and laughters, singing on stage and dancing, sometimes creating our form of entertainment. The noisiest bunch everywhere we goes.

    Until the next trip.

  30. Dear Lily, Dolly, YK & Sam,

I know I’m a bit late, but this is the earliest I could get to write on the forum. A BIG THANK YOU to the four of you for putting so much effort in organising this trip, making sure that everyone is well taken care, down to the exchange rate conversation slip, which turns out to be a very useful reference for our shopping…clever thought, indeed.

And yes, of course, I had a wonderful time catching up with old friends and meeting new ones on the trip with my husky low voice…no, that’s not my voice. I left my real sweet voice in hk ;) There was so much fun, laughters, singing and dancing, not forgetting the nasi padang…who cares about having sore throat??? Many thanks to you all, for being such a nice company and giving me and Geraldine a very warm welcome. Susan and others make sure we have our seats near all of you and at last, got to enjoy Caroline’s singing again! I feel as tho we are some sort of celebrities coming from hk, hahaha…head swell already. Do give me a chance to reciprocate in hk.

    Best regards

  31. Hi Ivy ( HK),

How is everything with you ? Can you remember the kueh Ambon that we bought at Batam ?

I managed to find the recipe. Here it is:

    Ingredients :

    15g instant yeast
    110ml warm water
    80g plain flour
    1 tsp sugar
    pandan leaves
    350 coconut milk
    30g butter
    250g sugar
    120g tapioca flour
    6 eggs
    a pinch of salt

    Instructions :

Mix yeast, warm water, 1 tsp of sugar and plain flour in a bowl. Stir till batter is smooth.

Cover and leave in a warm place for an hour.

Cook pandan leaves, coconut milk and salt over low heat.

Stir in butter and leave it to cool.

Pour in the batter and sugar.

    Beat briefly.

Add in tapioca flour and eggs.

Beat at low speed for a while and add in coconut milk mixture.

Pour into a lined tray and leave to prove for 2-1/2 hours.

Bake in a preheat oven at 179 degree for 15 minutes and then lower to 150 degrees and bake till cooked.

Once you have tried it out hope to hear your comment.

    Regards
    Lilian

  32. Hi Lilian,

You are sweeter than the Kueh Ambon. Thank you so much for taking the trouble to look for the recipe. It is already kept with my collection of recipes. Will try it out when time is available as it seems to take several hours to complete the whole process. Friend, I noticed you are very precise with your instructions…179 degree for preheating the oven…hmmnn…I do have a slight difficulty with my oven here :))

Do keep in touch…I can be reached at lkyivy@hotmail.com

    Cheers

  33. oh ya Lilian…about the Kueh Ambon I bought from the Batam trip, I ate a small piece and kept the rest in the fridge. Next day I brought the Kueh to office for my colleagues, guess what happened? The Kueh Ambon is so dry and hard, nobody want to eat so I throw all away…so wasted.

Btw the Batam trip was so FUN and enjoyable, now that I recalled those sweet memories…but where are the photos ??? &()&

    Ah Nee

  36. Hi Ivy#38,

Pei seh la, typed too fast, shd be 170 degree.

    Ah Nee#38 & Nor #41,

Yes it will be hard if you put in the fridge. Take out put in microwave on low ( maybe 3mins, cant remember the exact timing), then it will be soft, mosit and nice, sedap, like Nor always said. Ah nee, next time B4 you want to throw anything, let me know, I will stand next to your dustbin, haha.

    Cheers,
    Lilian
