At last, we had finally confirmed that December monthly gathering to be on:
Date : 28 December ’09, Monday
Time : 1700 to 2100 hours
Venue : Goldenhill Condo @ Mei Hwan Road, Lor Chuan

Bus services along Lor Chuan back gate are 73, 105 and 154
Along AMK Ave 1 are 53, 55, 58, 853, 24, 22, 158, 133, 136, 156 and 45
MRT : Alight @ North East Circle Line Lor Chuan Stn, cross the road, enter by back gate
Car : Park at visitor lot, FOC

This gathering will be held at the Function Room (Fully subsidized by my buddy, so no worry liao)

Food: Will settle for Halal caterer.. confirmed at $7/pax inclusive of transport and GST.

    I am pleased to say that for someone who is relatively new to SHC club and members, you have got the courage and dare to organise the monthly gathering. In many ways, it reflects well your confidence level in the event.

    For members, you dont have to be a senior member to organise the monthly gathering. As long as the event caters to the majority of SHCians, the monthly event will be approved. As Dolly has stepped down as CM, if you would like to organise the monthly gathering, simply speak with me or write me an email. There is a 99% chance it will be approved. Once accepted, the EO runs the show. I hope this concept sets the pace for future monthly gatherings. As a member, you are encouraged to organise a monthly gathering during your lifetime membership.

    Name tags or sticky label with the name stuck on the dress or shirt is required to help members recognise one another.

    Do not feel intimidated just becos you do not know anyone. When I was a newbie, I too had to have my husband with me as I was not a sociable person but I wanted very much to come out of my shell to meet more people. That was a good start for me. Now I attend most events confidently and most times alone cos CJ has to either travel or busy with other commitments.

    With Sam as a EO, you will soon feel very comfortable and everyone is ever so frienly and warm. So come and join us at the last event of the year. Look me up when you are there and I wil introduce you to the other members around.

    I m one person who is very particular abt payment. To be fair, I believe Sam can exercise fairness like allocating the seats to those on waiting lists n deleting those who dont pay within given time.

    We greatly hope u deeply appreciate the efforts of EO getting his hands full of unfinished work to be done from now till the day of event. I dont believe in collection on event day even if a small penalty is imposed. We are matured enough to put ourselves in EO’s shoes to understand his responsibilities dont lie just wif payment matter but to making sure that the event functions properly.

    Gerry Ong did not responsed to the forum after he commented at #83 “Sorry Sam I have difficulty so pls deregister me from the event on 28th dec”. My comment at #97 to volunteer to pay for him first but have not made the transfer of $$$ yet because he also did not responsed. I am not sure if he is still interested to join the monthly gathering, not fair for him to hold on since we didn’t hear from him, How?

    Perhaps I owe Sam an explanation as to why I had later found it a “hassle”.

    Despite not having a clue as to where the venue is and wanting to support you Sam, I had thought it should be easy enough to get there cause it’s just across the road from the MRT station and thru the back gates. However, the later advise is, after 1800 hrs latecomers will have to use the front gates. Well, wherever it is. I finish work officially at 6:15pm and had guessed I could get to the venue between 7pm-7:30pm, see #106, or 7pm at the earliest.

    Perhaps I should have consulted on the “Wei wei, open sesame” sms method but wonder what the response would be if I had made such a request?

    Yes, I had registered late but I am not the only one and at #106 I had politely requested for acceptance of my registration before I make payment. It’s unfortunate that I had noticed no acknowledgment but later noted I had been included in the list of names.

    Sam brother, I don’t need an explanation. Just want to put forth a point and set minds thinking.
