  1. Hi Bee Gek,

Thank you for being first to response on the post.
Don’t worry you cannot dance. Juz come on down and we will
show you a few easy moves. You will start to boogie in no time.

    james

  2. Hi Hwa Bee Gek,
Thank you for your early support . Of course you are most welcome to sit around and chit chat with our friendly SHC members I assured you . You can’t dance but I am sure you can boogie . See You and Cheers !

  3. I would like to be in the pleasure of your company on this funpacked 31st.July(Sunday).I look forward to learning the lively, cute upward- tossing hip Bachata Tango dance from the renowned dance instructor,Jeff Gan.

See you.Shall be paying up on the first week of July.Cheerio!

  4. Hi James

My friend has problem with her password unable to log in so I’m registering on her behalf.

Pls register Karen Wong & Pharis for your dance event, tks.

    Cheers
    Hamidah

  5. Hi JamesT,

Susan Tan has informed me that that participant #12 would not want to continue as a SHC member. I have therefore taken his name out of SHC.

    Terence Seah

  6. Terence,

I think there must have been some misunderstanding.
Susan has indicated Philip Yeo is a member as he’s taken
part in several SHC dance events w/o any issue; viz,
Xmas Party by Dolly on 13/8, Danz Butter n Jam on 13/8/10
and June Freaky Friday on 18/6/10.

From the mails, you indicated there were several Philip
Yeos, so one of them has to be him.

Please review and re-instate his status.

  8. Hi James,
As I had been away for 2wks in between hence I dun reli go in2 SHC website 2 read. But I am back now n finally got time 2 read all these comments, I hv some comments in related to what u had posted for this event:

    1) All those attending d Bachata Tango lesson, did they agreed to do a performance? Did you consult any if they r willing to do so. For sure, I am in this class n I wuld never agreed 2 do so as most of us r still struggling wif our routine. Jeff, u seriously think dat we r ready 4 performance?

    2) I always not 2 keen 2 watch any performance, be it a group or individual unless they r reli professional. This is a tea dance n it shd b more 4 dancing 4 everyone i/o of solo or individual performance. My 7cts worth.

    3) If d cost include light buffet lunch, how come coffee n tea need 2b sponsored by Jeff, shdn’t these 2 items be included in d spread as well. R u telling me that if Jeff is not sponsoring tese beverages, those attending will hv 2 buy/bring their own? Puzzling isst?

These are only my personal opinion n SHC alaways agreed dat EO had final say hence I will respect yours.

    Cheers… Dolly

  9. Hi Dolly,
Glad you can find time going overseas for relaxation the last two week. Am Glad you are back .
I refer to your thread # 15 and may I reply to it .
    1. Actually, James did asked if we can do a performance on Bachata Tango.I reply that if we are able to handle it, we will give it try . But,by now,i feel by the 31st, we probably would not be able to do it . We can actually do like normal dancing for Bachata tango , just make an announcement as this dance needs preperation in order to ‘co-ordinate’ with the music .Is it okay with you ?
    2. When we talk about ‘Performance’, there are a few angles at looking at it …… Professionally or for just own members entertainment .
3.in regards to ‘ light buffet ‘, I feel there’s is a misunderstanding . We actually cater for a 6 course buffet ( Halal )and we have to chose between coffee or fruit punch . As such , we chose the latter. We are senior citizens so not too good to take cold drinks . I therefore inform James coffee and tea on the house .
Hopefuly, we can look forward to having a grand time on the 31st July fellows SHCians . Cheers and smile !
    Regards !
    jeff.

  10. “…..we have to chose between coffee or fruit punch …. we chose the latter……. I therefore inform James coffee and tea on the house.”

There can actually be a compromise. Put fruit in coffee and everyone happy and greets you with hehee.

“But will you not then leave out the punch?” assuming you ask.

Not at all. The fruited coffee causes people to go silly with weewee. Then the punch(es) will come.

Seriously, think there’s a typo error. “Former?” or “the first?”

  11. Hi Jeffrey / James,

Please sign me up for this afternoon tea dance.

It’s normally coffee or tea and me, on a delightful Sunday afternoon (^__^)

  12. Hi James Gan/James Tan,

Count me in, anyway i would just love to see all of you dancing and enjoy it, meet more new friends.

    Cheers
    Audrey

  13. Hi James & Jeff

I’ll join in the party only. However, no bachata tango performance for me… will need another year to master the dance. Hee hee

    Regards,
    Gabriella

  14. Gabriella,

Don’t worry, performing is an encouragement, not a compulsion.
Juz come to enjoy the party and you may learn a thing or 2
    from the performers.
However, should your feet tingle you to dance, juz join in
    the performance w/o any inhibition.

    james

TQ for organising the above event. We had a whale of a time this Sunday afternoon – dancing (good exercise), having fun, laughter, makan and fellowship! Had a roaring hilarious time during the bachata tango competition! heehee

“Laughter is the best medicine!” Hope we can have more of this.

Looking forward to the next event in the not too distant future.

    Cheerssssssssssssss,
    G

  29. Hi Jeff & James

Thanks for organising. Another fun event at the tea dance.

It started off a bit slowly, eating, drinking and chatting.

However, when the music started, it upped the tempo and everyone (at least almost) was dancing away – having lots of fun.

Thanks Irene for the kind gesture of giving us a lovely door gift.

I enjoyed myself very much. If not for this, I would have been home, facing the four walls.

    Cheers
    Carly

  30. Gabriella,

Thank you for the compliment. I’m glad you thoroughly enjoyed
yourself and hope that all who attended had a whale of a time
    too.

At this point, I must thank my co-EC, Jeffrey and his
charming bride, for their great hospitalilty, arrangement of
food, song sequence and live band, as well as contributing
the extra beverages and bottles of wine to pump up the
    atmosphere.

Most of all, I thank all you John Travoltas and ONJ who turn
up in cheerful spirit to support this event.

    May we meet again.

    james

  31. Caroline,

You are the star of the dance floor yesterday.
You were dancing like Cinderalla with her Prince Charming.
    What else can I say?

    james

  32. Thanks James.

Just enjoying myself. He is not my prince charming. However, he is a charming guy. We just happen to enjoy dancing and doing crazy things.
