SHC Golf Group

Dear Members     emoticon

The golf session EOed by Raymond Tang last night at Seletar Country Club (SCC) was well received.  17 members turned up which include both novice as well as ‘pro’.  From this session, a new SHC Golf Group was "officially" formed and the following subjects were discussed and decided upon :

  1. There will be weekly golf session to be held at SCC – Driving Range.
  2. This weekly session on Wednesday will commence at 7 pm onwards.
  3. Coaching will be provided by Raymond Tang (plus supplementary coaching by SCC in-house coach).
  4. Fees payable @ $10 per session per person will include coaching, free use of available golf clubs and 40 golf balls per person.
  5. Fees to be paid by ATM transfer directly to Raymond Tang’s account.  (DBS autosave account # 0190 1476 81.)
  6. The group extend its invitation to other SHC members to join our weekly session.
  7. Lily Ho (non-player) will help provide admin support for this group.

The SHC regular golfer can support the beginner by paying $5 for 80 balls (outsider price $.06 cts) with no coaching.

Those interested to learn, or simply to enjoy the company of other players, and at the same time have some exercise or practice, are welcome to join.     Please register your interest in the comments here.     emoticon

  1. Hi Lily,

Good to know you all are having Golfing activities on Wednesday @ Seletar. Just to inform you our band consisting of Seletar members play @ The Tavern once a month on Wednesdays. If you all are keen to do some line dancing you are welcome to join in the fun.

    cheers!!!

  2. Hi SHC golfers,
The first session was certainly well received and the old group did a good job in helping the new golfers. I am grateful to Lily for helping out in coordinating between me the SHC.
The first session, I was not well prepared with Intro notes and lady’s club.
The #2 session, there will be enough ladies’ clubs for the members.
    – review basic swing. Stay relax (REMEMBER – DON’T DRIVE WITH YOUR HANDBRAKE “ON”.
    – warm up & stretching
    – posture, grip and alignment
    – striking the ball
    Happy Golfing
    Raymond

  3. Hi SHC Golfers or Wanna-Be
The account info for ATM transfer is already up in the post.

Coach Raymond said that pictures taken last Wed were not captured well. We will take again this coming Wednesday. And for seasoned golfers, we will video their golf swing.

    Hi Daniel Kang
Fantastic you and your band are playing at SCC 1 Wed each month. Let us know which Wednesday you are playing so that we may come and give you our support. Beside line dancing, can we also do social dancing?

  4. Raymond,
The current account provided in the post, I think is incorrect. Pls advise the correct one soonest possible.
    Cheers.. Dolly

  5. Hi

Tonight we have 8 enthusiastic beginner golfers to start our Lesson 1.

The regular golfers can support the beginner by paying $5 for 80 balls (outsider $.06 cts) with no coaching.

Either beginner or regular, everyone is getting a very good deal. Anymore coming to join in the fun and fellowship? All are welcome.

  6. Dear Coach Raymond,

  12. Hi Lily and Raymond,

How is the Golf group getting on? I notice the initial interest among the would-be beginners was good. I wonder what can be done to inspire more members to take up golfing.

    Anybody, got any suggestions?

  13. hi, again for those passionate about golf, feel free to drop by MBGC for some swing exercise. understanding swing technic takes short time but practice can be done long time.

    time/place:
    thur MBGC 1900h 4F
MBGC: marina bay golf course, http://www.mbgc.com.sg

golf can be done in few ways:
    1. casual exercise
    2. ‘serious’ exercise
    3. competitive

i think golf passion can take one to work on swing efficiency but no need to be fiercely competitive.
    well, some may think otherwise..

also looking for kakis for jb golf on following timings:
    wed 1300h
    sun 0830h

hope to hear from some of u .. cheers

  14. Hi Ping Hock,

I still remember vividly how you & Raymond introduced golf to me at the driving range and I love this sport since with Raymond’s guidance. Thanks!

Thur is not good for me as I have a dance class to attend. Any chance of having it on Tue or Wed? Much appreciated…

    Regards,
    Janie

  15. hi,
    let’s try tue 1900h.

would be good if u can get a sunday bag with few of yr favourite clubs. there are plenty at cash converters ..

if anyone going, pls inform beforehand.
normally u should do 50~100balls and try to get that elusive smooth swing.
