Collecting commision from advertising, promoting, introduction or selling products or services to SHC members

It has come to my attention that some members get a commission when introducing other members to external courses including skills development or skill credits courses.

In concept, it sounds like “Why not?” when the cause is good.

SHC was developed as a free platform. It incurs costs in operating the Club.  However, some members are unwilling to contribute to a SHC startup operating fund. And they use our members and forum to advertise and collect monetary benefits in return.

The club will be reviewng this situation.

  1. Hi Terence,
Since day one I did not had a chance to rip off the Club, I would feel pretty guilty I do that. We know that because of your many days of hard labour and out of your own pocket you created tis platform of opportunity for us and we want to stay grateful to you.

    1. Tq Dan. I shall accept your word that no commission is accepted for the courses mentioned in the forum.

I am extremely concerned that members meet other members via SHC for the purpose of introducing courses to earn a commission.

Advertising for external companies or individuals is strictly prohibited.

  2. Terence,
These courses are also open to the public. It is free or should ii put it here fully subsidized. It’s saddening to know that my intention to share it with our members is misconstrued as serving my self interest.

  3. Terence, seem like you are encountering some setbacks in your life and coping well.
I want to set the record straight here that any organisers that put up a post for any events do not make a living out of it. In fact they invested their time and efforts including all the ground works.
I just got my lifespan COE extension for another ten years from my triple bypass surgery but they dun give me any guarantee.
I live by the motto that it is better to give than receive. Yes, I met with some roadblocks in the road of life. I approached some members for help and to them I owed a “pound of flesh”.
I love organizing events but could not because I have to set my house in order first.

    1. Hi Dan,

I dont understand how your 1st two paragraphs are related to the topic of this post.

As on the 3rd para, I wish you well and recovering from the bypass.
