  1. Hi Ivan / Lily,
    Thanks for organising the event.

  2. Hi Lily and fellow members,

I walk and climb alot in the course of my work and travel. I had a few experiences with cycling group. From my experience, cycling is refreshing and it does not place high impact on the knees. It’s a great way to meet friends. During the recent Deepavali, I went to the East Coast, rented a bicycle for three hours and cycled a continuous 22 km. Wow, it was really nice and I felt good. I had a friend to come along, and that made the exercise fun and challenging.

Many members may want to pick up cycling. I encourage you to try it, and not to give up easily. As we get older, we tend to find reasons not to exercise. Lily, Ivan, Douglas, Yew Kwong, Charles and many more have been making cycling activities available to members. Your coming will encourage them to organise more cycling events. Bring along a fellow SHC friend.

  9. Hi AndrewY,
    Noted…see you next ride/event.

    Hi All,
Some dark clouds are passing HG/PG/SK area….
If it rains, please meet/wait at Blk 401 (Meeting Point). So that you are under shelter….
Because if you wait at Jumonda Bike Rental Kiosk (Starting Point) at Punggol Park, there is no shelter there….
Rain or Shine, I will be there….

  10. Ivan
Now rain many many big big at my house. Looking for mask and snorkel before I join you for cycling. I also need searchlight to get out of the house.

  11. Hi,
In spite of the “heavy” rain, total turn out was not bad at all…. 13riders on time as planned with 03riders own-time-own-route? LOL!!!
Thank you all for the great support!!!
Although the ride was a “wash-out” due to the down pour …. we still had a good time during dinner – rite?
Special thanks to Carly, Dolly, Lai Fong and Lily too, for turning up early to lim-kopi and chat with the riding group.
And applause to TS for the special efforts to ride, although I didn’t see him wearing his mask, snorkel and definitely NO searchlight mounted on the bike…LOL!!!

NOTE: Impromptu Rides may be called as and when opportunities arises from now till March 2013….
    Do check your private emails….cheers!!

  12. Hi Ivan,

I forgot to thank you and Hou Chong for buying us such a sumptuous dinner last Sat night. Thanks again. I look forward to the next ride too.

Luckily for your group they were not drenched. All 3 of us were drenched. Feztus, because he had no rain coat, T Soo because the rain slid down his head to his clothes, and myself because I had so much trouble opening up my raincoat in the rain, I was half drenched by the time I got it on. Also no thanks to the lousy shelter we stopped at. It only looks nice and contemporaray but is completely dysfunctional.

It was leaking so badly the handphone in my pocket was wet and not communicable. Finally we gave up and rode in the rain to look for another shelter under some road construction.

Nevertheless we had a good time and a good dinner. Better still as it was gratis. Loads better than the Groupon China tour we just returned from. Wah, we got fish, chicken, pork, veges, seafood eh. Groupon meals in PRC only got veges, no fish, no chicken, microscopic minced pork. If you want egg, must pay RMB50 somemore. Buay Tahan.

Now looking forward to eat in JB’s finest hawker foods with Malcolm.

Malcolm, I heard got 100 day aged chicken dish? Is this true? Wah, pay $35, got free T shirt, free night stay, free breakfast, free escort, free show, free music plus maybe 100 day aged chicken dish. Mebbe better to emigrate.
