Looking for travel buddy/buddies to Cebu/Bohol on Dec 2 -7, 2012

Tiger Airways having an offer of a round trip of $171 ++ to Cebu,
Phillipines. Cebu has a rich historical heritage as Ferdinand Megallan landed on
Phillipines in 1521. There is also a vibrant nightlife in Cebu.

We can go to the neighbouring island of Bohol to see the National Geographic
Monument called The Chocolate Hills by express ferry Super Cat or Ocean Jet.
Hotels average about $30-40 Sing and guesthouse at $24 per air-con room in the
heart of Cebu City. The people are friendly and best of all, most of them speak
English.

Worth going due to cheap flight and favourable exchange rate of 1000
peso ~ $30 Sing dollars.

Flights leave Singapore on Sun Dec 2 or Mon Dec 3 and return to
Singapore on Friday Dec 7.

Please email me at laurawee@hotmail.com if you are keen to
join me.

Thank you.

  1. Hi all

There are 4 confirmed travellers inclusive of myself. We already booked our flights and booked the first night accomodation at Hotel Pier Cuatro, Cebu City. A few more SHC members are considering to see if the dates are suitable for them. I am closing this post as a small group has been formed and we wish to keep the group small and manageable.
If you still wish to go, you can ask me for more information which I am ready to share. You may buy your own air tickets and arrange for own accomodation and we will see you at the airport on Dec 2.

    Bon voyage~~~

    This posting is officially CLOSED.

    Thank you for your interest.

  2. Hi Laura,
Great that you put up this post and received responses to join…
But but but (just a thot!!) do verify their SHC membership as this is an open platform…
Because anyone (good, bad and ugly) can just write to you outside of this forum since you had listed your email address here…
This is NOT to pour cold water into a hot pan but it’s just a thot that keeps bugging me when I read about this event posting…
Enjoy and have a safe travel.

  3. Hi Ivan
Thank you for your concern and having my welfare at heart. Yeah I try to be careful and that is why i didn’t put up my handphone number. So far the SHC members who inquired were all ladies, one of whom I have travelled with before.
    Cheers…

  4. Hi all
I had the most exciting trip of my life cos I survived Super Typhoon Pablo on Dec 4 Tuesday evening for a few precious hours. Our taxi driver was alert and drove us to a school compound to take shelter from falling trees and flying zinc roofs. During the most violent part of the storm, my 3 lady companions and I plus taxi driver sat silently and prayed so hard in our hearts of hearts while the rain and wind lashed at our taxi and our surroundings. It was the fiercest storm I ever experienced but was calm as deep in my heart I know my Lord answers prayers and kept us safe until the storm abated. Currently, more than 500 have lost their lives and many are still missing. But thank God, my travelling companions and I are back in Singapore safe and sound. We even managed to visit Bohol island the next day and swam in the ocean and saw one of the most beautiful beaches ever…
My next trip…. UNESCO site terrace rice fields at Banaue, Philippines…
Cheers to life… live to the MAX!!!

  5. Dear Laura
am glad you made it back! Indeed it’s a tall tale. I like your ‘never say die’ attitude. cheers to Banaue (when?)
since you’re looking for a new job how about one that allows you to travel NOT during school holidays? it’s always expensive and hard to book ticket/accomodation during that peak period.

    salute!

  6. Hi Frisna
Thank you for your well wishes. Let me also wish you and those reading this post a happy and blessed new year.
As for the Banaue trip, currently I have 2 ladies contacted me to show their interest. But I have not decided yet to go during the March school holidays as I may be assigned to bring some relatives to UK instead. All is tentative and I cannot firm up plans yet.
    Cheers!!!
