Thinking Aloud

Is the lives of 239 on board the ill-fated mh370 matter much more then lives of 11,420 children killed in Syrian’s civil war? Coverage of the missing plane dominate international media and get lots of political leader’s attention. Not only had the government of those countries, its commercial entities also put in lots of effort and money tracing its flight destination. This will cost countless millions of dollar. However, very little of Syria story was publish by media and on the political leaders. Why?

One may say flight safety and securities is most important because people all over the world travel by planes compare with issues only involves the lives of one specific country. The civil war had been fought for the last three year and people already got tired wanting to know. All this seems logical.

According to a former head of Al-Jazeera and CBC News who teach journalism in a university – “Syria is complicated to cover and very costly” The mh370 “is the stuff for fiction … theories of black holes, kidnappings etc is very easy to do”. Is he agreeing with the writings by an American media and cultural critic in 1985 who wrote that “TV news was treating serious issues as entertainment and demeaning political discourse by transforming it into show business”

Hmmm, will think about that when next alone drinking coffee and eating bao at a food court.

  1. Yes it feel good just to talk about all these happenings around the world. There is still no trace or debris from the wreakage of the missing plane.
239 victims may face a watery grave. What about the close to 3000 lives taken during the 9/11in 2001? We all accept the fact that it is a terrorist attack. Have we ever consider that it is a conpiracy? The planes are fake. There is no way a plane can slice from a skyscraper of steel beams. Any plane on impact will be blown to smithereen. A third building which was not hit by a plane but collapsed under controlled demolition.
How can these things be happenings? Google to find out more.
    Dan.

  2. Methinks, from psychology with regards to interest in newspaper reports – missing MH370 gets more news coverage than the war in Syria in our newspapers because (1) it’s fresh (recently happened) while the ongoing strife in Syria is stale bread. (2) The proximity of the happening – Malaysia is a neighbour and we know many of its people (personally or by name) while Syria is in ‘Timbaktu’ and we only read about it. (3) Emotional distance – an air disaster is very shocking to the man-in-the-street because we all fly and the disaster could have happened to us. Shudders! The war in Syria – we feel sorry for the abused/victims we read about. (4) The mystery element – everyone is dying to know what really happened to the missing plane and any info the papers can dish out is devoured eagerly and then speculated among friends. The latest speculation: the missing plane is not in the Indian Ocean!

  3. Hi Dan
Skepticism carried to the extreme can become farcical.
The tragic incident of the bombing of the twin tower of the WTC was captured in video as a perpetual testimony as to what happened on that fateful day September 11.
It showed vividly the approach of two planes, one after another heading toward each tower and ramped into the building at the right section to achieve the maximum effect. The plane went through, exploded and caught fire, causing the vast amount of jet fuel to trickle down the well. the intense heat caused the reinforced steel bars in the support columns to weaken. Eventually, plus the weight of the top sections, the whole building structure could not support anymore, collapsed, reducing it into a twisted heap of steel and slabs of concrete.
There was no fig of imagination or fake stories.
The whole debacle was planned well ahead and the perpetrators were trained in US as pilots. They hijacked the domestic aircrafts for their suicide mission.

It will go down in the history of USA, that there was no declaration of war and
yet the centre of financial power and its military centre, the Pentagon were attacked. The attempt to attack the White House failed as that plane crashed.

  4. Admittedly, we are all in the dark. No one can claim to know what has had actually happened to that ill-fated plane. There are many theories surrounding the MH-370.

The main reason it is drawing world wide attention is because it affects every one who flies or have something to do with flying. It is a multi trillion dollar industry that concerns plane manufacturers, equipment suppliers, airline operators, airport security agencies, insurance companies, political and military leaders – and last but not least, the people like you and me who sit on the plane and at their mercy when we are 35,000 feet in the air.

Since 911 is brought up here, let us hear from the people from a corner of the world who were apparently not very happy with the USA:

Watch the video with an open mind. Nothing is conclusive yet. The only thing I can say is NOTHING is impossible when a clever mind is coupled with overwhelmingly superb technology.

  5. CNN Live program “MH370 Intact, All Alive, Plane Was Followed By Military Jets” show girlfriend of a passenger interview by its host saying there is some witness to that and there was a likely involvement in a massive cover-up.

CNN was known to engage in speculative discussion of increasingly ridiculous theories including black holes and what happened inside the plane. Worst, these hypotheticals became almost theological. Is there a 1% chance a theory might prove accurate? Or will it be 100% impossible?

I think this kind of shows is the reason its March rating was high. However, in the first quarter CNN rank third after Fox News Channel and MSNBC.

  6. Now that the Chinese and Australian crews have picked up new signals purportedly from the black box of the missing MH370. Hopefully this will lead to finding the wreckage.
Time is running out by the day. The battery life of the box will last 30 days starting from 8 march 2014 for searchers to find it.
If the attempt fails, the chances of finding it would be very remote indeed. Certain part of the Indian Ocean is 4 1/2 km (13,500 feet) deep.
With the bleak situation and the costs of search operations, after the 30 days or
so, the search will be considerably scaled down.
Perhaps then the truth of the MH370 mishap would never be known and the calamity would forever remain a mystery.
