SHC Flea Mart, Sat 15 Mar 2008

Up-dated from previous posting.

Date : – 15 March 2008

Time : – 3 pm. – 8 pm…..or until all goods are sold.

Place : – Scorebot., Bali Lane – Junction of North Bridge Road and Ophir Road.

This is going to be very exciting. SHC’ s First Flea Mart will be held in conjunction with the Monthly Gathering, so fun will be had by all.

The vendors will strictly be SHC members, but please do encourage – relatives, friends or rope in any members of the public to come and see our wares.

15 tables have been reserved by Scorebot, each measuring 5’x4′. Bring a table cloth as this will enhance your wares. Each table rents for $10.00. It can be shared, so as a buddy system can be established with the partner.

Items can be new, old/antiques, or used. Price them to sell. You really don’t want to lug them back home.

So, come one come all. As vendors, buyers or just browsers. All are welcome.

From the previous posting we have re-confirmed participants :-

Tables are now 4′ x 2′  { not 4′ x 5′ } at $5.00 per, at half the actual cost of rental

I have amended the configuration for this.

Please inform me soonest if you would like to make any changes.

  2. Hi SHCians,

The day turned out to be very good, thanks to all who prayed for good weather.

This was SHC’s first Flea Mart, and maybe we have learnt a few lessons as how to make it a better success.

I am sorry Siew Eng that you and a couple of vendors did not do as well as others. I hope you had fun though.

Thank you to all who participated………Jie

  3. Congratulations to Terence & Jie for the successful 1st SHC Flea Market!..i heard it was fun filled!

SHCians…we shud support Sieweng’s ‘Young Artist’ programme..be it how small our contributions maybe.I am sure we can make a difference & boost their morale..an artist’s fire is alive!
Sieweng…maybe u can start a thread on yr thoughts.

  4. Hi Terence,
Just my personal views as I would like to share with you.
    1) Cost saving – Not necessary to advertise on Newspaper to inform the public unless you have somethings special or theme that you want to create public awareness.
    2) Lesson learnt – I should have come down to view the place prior to committing myself. Expensive lesson learnt as our cost to recover has increased.
Can I request all fellow SHC members, if you know anyone who is willing to fund our “Young Artist” programme or any coporate which is supportive to Children’s work and wish to get 12 pieces of art pieces to be printed into calender for next year, do connect them to me? My handphone is 93390380.
    Thanks and regards.

  5. Terence,
I’ve liked browsing around night markets since young and flea markets are fun for me too.
Yesterday’s was quite enjoyable although there were not many stalls.
One suggestion I have is to begin the flea market later and stretch it into the evening as I noticed the place got pretty busy after 8 pm. Perhaps some sort of lighting could be used. How, I don’t know. Candlelight? Kerozene lamps? Hehe. It used to be that way when I was a kid. Nostalgic.

  6. Hi Ron #45,

Thanks for the feedback, a lot of effort has gone to Jie, and to KT Wong for assisting with the use of the venue. I am very happy with the event, and with the support from fellow SHCians.

I think there is some degree of disorganisation; but if you know me, I love it. This generates greater cooperation among participants and manages our expectations.

Those who came, please help us with your feedback.

    Terence Seah

  7. Hi all SHC Flea Mart vendors and buyers,

I really enjoyed yesterday’s Flea Mart. Now, I would ask for your feedback as a vendor or as a passer-by or buyer. From your feedback, I think we should decide how we proceed or if we proceed for the future. What are the items that sell? How to promote the event? What about layout? Is the prize reasonable? etc, etc.

And, if we go ahead, would you like to lead and organise future such events.

This is apen review. Look forward to hearing ideas. Even, if you think the event is a waste of time or is totally meaningless to SilverHairs, feel free to share your mind. So, go ahead plse.

    Terence Seah

  8. Thanks nothing.

Ter paid lightning to take thunder for a smoke and shower was too drunk to piss. Hee-hee

We’ll wait for Dennis to announce the winners and the selected Singapore National Dishes. The winner will collect the prize and the everyone can go down and watch.

Take the rare chance to learn all about auto trading and see how easy or difficult it is to close the wealth gap between your long term passive rate of return and your cost of inflation.

Poor to Rich could only be one or two percentage points away. Which side are you on?

  9. Thanks heaven, the expected thunder and shower did’nt come to pass, at least we are happy that the weather forecast was wrong.

Hats off to our founder, Terence for successfully formulating the first ever FLEA MKT, and hope there will be many more to come, and KT’s also first ever Singapore National Dish that took off, with flying colour.

  10. Yeap, sunshine, sunshine… I am happy to see the sun after so many days of rain.

We’re going cycling… so hopefully it will stay this way throughout !

  11. Thank you SCHians….especially those who prayed for a fine weather today. It is beautiful right now, blue skies, white clouds and the sun shining. See what can be done, if you have faith.

But we are not out of the woods yet. A thunderstorm might just appear out of the blue.

So keep your prayers going, fingers crossed and whatever else that you think will work.

Even if we have to play in the rain….we are going to have fun.

See you all in a few hours……..Jie

  12. All vendors,

Sensation sells. Dress to kill. Or at least dress the part. Try not to come in your usual aunty/uncle threads.

Tim, bring your hair chest. I’ll make a special fly-paper sticker name label for you.

    Hee hee

  13. Hi SHCians,

Did a number of you, like Norlinda pray too soon. Its a fine day today. But El Nino is still swirling somewhere in the area. So please, the prayers are still needed tonight at 10pm. for tomorrow…Saturday.

    Vendors,
18 tables are reserved for tomorrow. We will see you at Bali Lane between 2-3pm, as we are open for business at 3pm.
    Don’t forget to bring
    a] enough change in money
b] plastic/tote bags for the sale of your wares.

    See you all then…………..Jie

  14. helo cute Steven..
saya tahu tomorrow friday..so let it shine all the way to flea market day lah…lagi bagus kan?
so..awak pun mesti sembahyang ok :)

  15. hi Jie & others
I will pray for fine good weather & success of the 1st SHC fleamkt..
lets hope tomorrow the sun will start to shine and make all of us happy & merry :)

  16. Hi Flea Mkt Vendors

Besides e concerted pray 4 gd weather tat Jie hd mentioned, we can oso erect portable rain shelter using canvas sheets. For those who hd gone on e Sg Rd tour wld hv seen them n find them veri useful. Simple 2 erect n dismantle by using canvas sheet n pvc poles. If U hv miss it, go bck there 4 another tour.

  17. To the success of the 1st SHC flea market this Saturday.

With like-minded people, the tennis fellowship is meeting tomorrow evening with anticipation for good weather too.

We shall be blessed during this Saturday’s event with sunshine, breeze, excellent fellowship, “fine dining”, meaningful discussion and “bazaaring”.

Let the rain washes and provides clean drinking water, and let the sun come out in good time(s).

Heaven dispose when man requests with earnest. Ask and it shall be given.

  18. Hi SHCians,

I know it is worrisome with this rain we are having these past few days. Let’s look at the bright side of situation. By Saturday morning, it may have rained out and Saturday afternoon will turn out to be a fine and sunny day. Then we can frolic and have fun at our flea mart and monthly gathering.

Nothing like the power of prayer. Why don’t we on Friday night, make it at 10pm., have a concerted prayer, to whoever you think is the All-Powerful being, for a fine day on Saturday.

    Vendors, do not lose heart.!!!!
Regardless, the show will go on. We can have the flea mart at the shophouses’ five foot way for shelter.

Scorebot is right there, to serve you whilst you rest your weary feet. It may be a little crammed, but that is the fun of it….rubbing shoulders, maybe blaring music from the sound system and haggling going on. A bazaar, some would say bizaare atmosphere.

The dark clouds might just deplete its rainwater, and the white clouds with the sun peeping thru’ will greet us on Saturday.

So Let’s be optimistc and positive.
It doesn’t hurt tho’, to remember to bow your heads at 10pm. Friday.

To the success of SHC’s first flea mart……Jie

  19. Hi Ms Jie,
My apology for addressing you wrongly. Thank Norlinda for highlighting to me, greatly appreciated.
    Hi Mr Wong,
Thank you for providing “gallery” space. There are 15 pieces of 40.5cm x 29cm, 8 pieces of 32cm x 23.5cm Crayon & Paper Batik Paintings, 7 pieces of 21.5cm x 23.5cm Acrylic Paintings and 11 pieces of 20.5cm x 16cm Crayon Paintings. Size of paintings indicated are the frame size. Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  20. Examples

    1) 1st born child generally has certain characteristics different from a second or third child….so on.

    2) Scores in psychometric/EQ/IQ/MQ test(s) have meaning, relation, implication and significance in human behaviours.

  21. Hi Steven at #191

Am not “pantang”. Nature has its order.

You know and understand Fibonacci or biblical numerical orders?

Just like Imperial or Standard International (SI) measurements.

  22. Da Jie

    We will take 3 tables (#7, #8, #9) 4’x 2′

Thanks for all the effort, we are ready for the
    excitement and fun.

Ann Lim / Ros / Anna Seet

  23. Heeee, again heeee so by tickling & mun mun liu, I got Scorebot to make this irrevocable guaranty (which means exactly what a guranty shd mean) ” Leave the rest to us”.

Ooops, cant follow anyone home, got my #12-101 for the day lah but you can let me hv yr house and bedroom keys, will go there asap……..the “you” doesnt include you KY hor so dont get excited……..KT makes a good drink mate anytime but he snores bedtime.

  24. #196

    Can’t edit…..

Definition of infrastrucute – Cute infrastructure. Sexy, seductively and deadly effective. Like Mata Hari….

  25. All say thank you to Tim, our volunteer marketing-cum-legal-cum-everything-else consultant.

Contact him for any problems with marketing or legal matters on the flea market. We are always there for you.

Focus on presenting and marketing your products. Leave the rest to us. Don’t worry about little things like table space, BO and rain. Talk to us if you think that you have a problem. All you have to do is to turn up with your goods.

Scorebot assures that you will get more than enough exposure than you ever need for all you want to sell. $10 does not buy you a table. By courtesy of SHC, it has bought you a global marketing infrastrucute. If you wish you can sell your house and everything in it.

You are even encouraged to take home our marketing consultant after the event. And keep him there under your new patchwork quilt.

    Hee hee.

  26. Heee, thanks but no thanks KT, I hv been weighed down by that mouthful of title and is happy to be just tim ah liu, going abt mun mun liu……

I’ll try make a SHC flag and fly it full mast there on saturday which, of cos when I ant looking, you can use it as an umbrella if Terence has no objection that his proud flag, revealed for the first time, doublles up as a rain shield.

Seriously, we must hope for good weather…..as I type, the rain is pouring all over me, and I am now tempted to use the flag the way you hv suggested…….

  27. Tim @ #192

“……..I can help to sell for you at yr table when you take a breather…be rest assured that I’ll price yr goods to sell ….”

Ah! Now we know what you mean by being our resident marketing/legal consultant. Does that also include holding up the golf umbrella and sueing the rain ?

Can we get you a table to rent/sell chairs, raincoat and umbrellas. I will joint venture your business.

  28. At long long last and finally the issue of seat was brought up. Rental for a 4′ x 2′ table doesnt come with a chair, less a couch so if anyone still feels that the table is too big, not at all………you may hv to move yr barang to the floor and sit on it to rest..or sell if you like.

The nearby bus stop is usually uncrowded and you may wish to chope it now……..I can help to sell for you at yr table when you take a breather…be rest assured that I’ll price yr goods to sell, entirely do it for yr sake unless, shagged to the bone, you still want to lug home yr barang you dread to see again.

  29. Hi Andrew Kuan at 188 ,

….3, 5, 8 or 9 are OK with me. Theses numbers have relations and significance with me.

Never know that Andrew is so “pantang”.

How abt starting fortune telling or feng shui at Scorebots ?
    Ha! ha!

  30. Hi Andrew,
I got you down for #5, hope it is auspicious enough for you. Guessed as much when you requested for #3, but pushed the reason to Jassmine.
As for chairs, we MAY have stools available.
    See ya………Jie

  31. Ah yea Terence,

Yew Kwong only pulling your leg lah.

Did you not see your name, top of the list with #1 table as requested.

    AndrewK,

#3 table as such is unavailable to you. But rest assured and better still, you are surrounded by a bevy of beauties. Hope this is to your liking.

  32. Hi Yew Kwong @183,

Don’t understand what you mean about getting non-SHC members to register themselves as members of the public, as we do not have a category called non-SHC members. Slow today.

    Terence Seah

  33. Yew Kwong, only pulling your leg about re-selling your stuff from Sungei Rd.

No need to split 50-50. Will do it strictly on goodwill. ………….Jie

  34. Jie

Most of flea mkts’ purchases were meant 4 own consumption or giveaways (children’s stuff). Little were left 4 resale which I usually put them up on internet auction sites. Convenient, ez 2 manage n requires less attention.

Tks 4 ur offer. Mayb I lv my stuf wif U n we shall share e proceeds on 50-50 basis. Can?

    Tim

U r rite. Must remind Terence 2 put a sign 2 remind all non-SHC members 2 register themselves as members of the public.

  35. Hi Yew Kwong,

No problem about the table. I thought you were bringing in all that you bought from Sungei Rd.
If you need any help in selling your stuff whilst you are away, I’ll be more than happy to help.
    Let me know…………..Jie

  36. Jie @ 179

Definitely I m not withdrawing. I dont need big space 2 stk up vertically some saucy magazines of A4 sizes which I intend 2 lv them wif Terence 2 take care of.

I dont mind 2 take a table but it may be left empty throughout n seriously I wori it may look ugly. Anyway if argmt is oredi fixed, then lv it as it is. No problem n tks.

  37. Hi Yew Kwong,

Am I to understand that you are withdrawing from having a table, and wanting to share the little one with Terence. How can??? Too small to share.

    Better confirm it with Terence.

  38. Jie

Pls dont gv me a table as I wont be there till 7 plus unless I need it 4 mahjong session. I wld rather share the cost wif Terence even tho I may end up not selling any stuff due 2 my late arrival aft the cycling session. Tks.

  39. Jassmine, I appreciate your understanding.
    You read it correctly.

I too think it unfair for Terence to bear the cost thru’ no fault of his. His integrity is impeccable.

We so badly want this first Flea Mart to be a success.

    Once again ……….thank you……..Jie

  40. Hi Jie

    @#173

Reading between the lines, I gather the rental for the smaller table is $10. I would like to pay $10 for my table (one table).

    JassmineT

  41. Hi Vendors,

Please read the amended posting regarding the tables. Let me know if you would like to make changes……soonest possible.

    Thank you…………….Jie

  42. Hi Siew Eng,

I have reserved a table for you 4’x2′. Payment can be made when you arrive on Saturday.

Please refer display of srtifacts to KT Wong.

    TKS Jie

  43. Hi Vendors,

Through no fault of Terence or mine, the cost and dimension of the table has changed. Terence as usual volunteered to bear the brunt of the cost and is paying for the difference.

I will amend the table allotment, whereby it will be almost the same as before. Bear with us if there are little discrepancies, the flea mart is in its infancy and we are having teething problems.

    Thank you for your understanding………..Jie

  44. Andrew @#165

    Hi Andrew

I think we can have two tables because the tables are rather small and they will cost us the same rental (ie $5 each). I will inform Jie.

Opera debut – not on bazaar evening. I have to balik kampong by 7p.m.

    JassmineT

  45. Last night, Jie, KT, Terence, joined by Roland and Shirley had a meeting at 18 Bali lane, to finalise the Flea mart arrangements. A few points to clarify on the arrangements for the 1st SHC Flea Mart. As this is the very first time we are arranging such an event, we hope the event will provide us feedback for future Flea marts.

    1. The table size has been confirmed with the tables supplier, and for layout flexibility, the size of each table will be close to 4ft x 2ft, instead of 4ft x 5ft.

The supplier is charging us $10 per each 4ft x 2ft for the table and the transportation to the venue. However, for this very first event, each table of 4ft x 2ft will be charged $5 nett. Participants can pay this amount via Jie on the day itself. The difference will be absorbed by the club.

For participants that require a bigger size, it will be two tables of 4ft x 2ft = $10 nett.

    2. Participants should try to find an attractive table cloth to fit the size of table required. No table cloth will be supplied.

    3. The Flea Mart will start at 3pm and finished at 8pm. Participants can set up the tables early or anytime. All tables will be numbered #1 to #20. There will only be 20 tables, for a start. In the eveniing, there is sufficient street side lighting, so there will be no additional lighting.

    4. For participants selling snacks or foodstuff, please contact us urgently on this forum. Although the venue organiser has no objection, they are in the F&B business, so early acceptance and information required.

    5. Should it rains, all tables will be moved to the entrance of the shops. Let’s all wish for good weather.

    6. This event is strictly for SHC members only. Non-members are NOT allowed to sell at the Flea Mart. Only members of the public can attend to buy products from the Flea mart.

Please enjoy yourself during this Saturday afternoon and evening. It will be a learning experience for participants wishing to take part in this selling experience. Club will take up a small advertisement in the “Garage Sale” column of the Straits Times on Fri and Sat.

Should you have any questions, please contact Jie. Have fun.

    Terence Seah

  46. Sieweng @ #163

Jie will get in touch with you on payment.

How many pieces do you have? We can provide “gallery” space for you. Give an idea what you may need.

  47. A @ #165

We just had our briefing briefing for this Sat’s fleamarket-cum monthly meeting yesterday. You should have joined. Our program with three talks and a flea market is already packed.

With such a great concert and gathering of stars, we must honour it with a separate event and the respect it deserves. Tuxeda, gowns, wine and fine dining.

Why don’t you come down to Scorebot later in the evening. I am making a presentation to hedge funds. We can discuss your operatic debut afterwards.

Are you taped yet in rehearsals? Forward the audition CD. Otherwise we can try “score” you in Scorebot too this Sat. I need them for the talent scouts and Durian. Then on to Sydney Opera House in Dec and London in June. All timed for maximum crowd during the respective summer holidays. Good plan?

  48. Hi KT Wong

You are such a friend as well as your inclusive cheekiness in the “Chinese language and Culture – Anyone?” thread.

OK, lah, you arrange the audios and video systems with Marcus of the Greek Restaurant at 27, Bali Lane. This Saturday after SHC monthly gathering/flea market. I will oblige you with three scores, so long you are not more cheeky, OK?

    a) I will dedicate the Mandarin ?? specially to you, your loved ones and all SHCians.

    b) Together with Jassmine, we wish all ” Never say good-bye” – the English version of Perish in the name of love (???).

Jassmine T, are you game ?

    c) Last Friday (7 March) during the Mandarin Fellowship at The Tanamera, our SHCians were eagerly to hear “Perish (Sacrifice) in the name of LOVE” (???)to be sung. Ah alas, the princess was not in town then.

I will request the youngest daughter of Tai Tong Restaurant’s owners of the 1950s to lead this Cantonese opera ballad (???).

All of us shall be in time to take the midnight train safely home, all right?

  49. Sieweng..alamak..Jie is a sweet pretty missy hor..not a Mr, just fyi pls
next time play safe..donno, pretend a bit..no need to address….very susah u know if salah, sori kepo lah :)

  50. Thank Terence for giving my students opportunity for their art pieces to put up for sale. I would like to support the Flea Mart at the same time by signing up for a table. Some paintings can be displayed on the table, others can hang down or other means. Would appreciate Mr LH Jie’s and Mr KT Wong’s assistance. Please advise how do I make my payment. Thanks and regards.

  51. siew eng @#158

We are very supportive of art. We will try to make special provisions for your pieces. How many pieces.

We are having a flea market meeting at 6pm today Mon 10 Mar at Scorebot, 18 Bali Lane. Come down and take a look at how we can best display your pieces.

  52. Hi Siew Eng,

I cannot in all honesty say whether this is the right place or not.
At a flea mart, anything goes, as people have varied interests. You are more than welcome to sell the art and craft pieces of the young artists.

As you can see we only charge $10 for a 4’x 5′ table, which is very minimal.

Do let me know soonest if you want a table for this Saturday.

    Tks…….Jie

  53. Hi Siew Eng,

For the moment, advertisements are not supported on this forum. However, you are encouraged to participate in the Flea Mart.

Please let Jie know if you intend to join in the activity.

    Terence Seah

  54. I have students’ art pieces that acrylic painting, paper batik painting and crayon painting left from “Young Artist Exhibition” held on 24/12/07, just wonder whether I can put up for sale here. We actually conducted an “Young Artist” programme for the Student Care children with no charges. It was through the exhibition which helped to raise fund to cover our cost. Till todate, only 1/3 of the cost was recovered. Do let me know whether this is the right place for the sale of art pieces and to raise support for the “Young Artist” programme. Thanks and regards.

  55. Jas @ #156

    Wah! So technical.

OK. it will probably have to be a patchwork blanket then.

Back then, air con was not that popular. Mosquito nets are used more than quilts. Besides if you had quilt, it is about time to change padding. And after six kids…

Do you make it yourself. It makes for a great retro-handcrafted product. You can take the waste from a clothing factory or tailor shop and channel it to a half-way house or charity for production. Even low cost production in Tg P will be good enough. If and when we re-capture MS, we’ll sentence him to a life of patchwork.

(Note: Seriously, it is quite an engineering feat to mechanise production of patchwork from small pieces of odd shape, waste cloth. It will probably be handcrafted and hence its continuing value as labour becoming increasingly expensive.)

For collector’s item, it helps to have a celebrity under the sheets.

Hmmmm… How about inviting A for a one night stand.

    Hee-ee.

  56. KT @#154

What you described may be patchwork, not quilts, unless these patchwork pieces are padded.

Collectors’ item – is it patchwork or patchwork quilt?

I have a patchwork blanket. Hope it’s a collectors’ item.

    JassmineT

  57. Pat @ #152

    What kind of quilt?

I miss the handmade quilt patches. Once upon a time, many ladies make clothes for their family. They collect the spare cloth and put it together to make a quilt. Every piece has its own history and story.

It has become quite a collectors item, the random quilt pieces. It is hard to find anyone today capable enough to collect enough material to make a single piece. There’s value in rarity.

  58. Hi Patricia,

Welcome to SHC and our first Flea mart.
This is a very good way for you to get to know SHC and its members. We most certainly welcome you and your quilts – it will add variety to the items on sale.

See you on the 15 March…………Jie

  59. Hi SHCians,

We still have tables available for your wares. Surely your homes are not that pristine that you do not have any useless but ” too good to be thrown away ” items. Bring it to the Flea Mart and turn it into cash. Don’t wait for the next flea mart. Now is the time.

Come and browse anyway and take home some of the treasures on offer.

  60. Dear Jie

    I am very sorry to make u ‘sad’:(…next time i blanja u makan2
Really appreciate your understanding..& keep up yr your good work!

  61. Norlinda…..I am disapointed that you are not able to participate. But I guess you have your priorities.

Caroline……You are allowed to ‘kapo, kapo’ with our stalls.

  62. Hi Jie..

I am very sori to say that I have to withdraw from participating in the flea mkt.The reason is bcos…im so busy till i almost forgot 15 Mar 08 is my company’s retreat & also I have to attend my niece engagement that nite.
Pls accept my apology..I will bear the cost of renting $10 since i made my commitment earlier.

That would mean, my buddy Carly wont be joining too…since she is just suppose to help me out.

Yew Kwong..I will discuss with u to donate my barang2 to your charity houses..boleh tak?

  63. Jass, i dont know the 2 Tans so if they arent famous according to my yardstick, they cant lure me to read their pieces. There’s a Tan – Queenie Tan – who is famed for many good deeds she brought on to many families in the 80s-90s but she has faded away…………..

So looks like the 7/3 Tan Aminah date has been firmed up for me……..cant run away this time. Will be there.

Seems like you know my gal is gangly, another beanpole like me (I wasnt but now am) but she does hv a huge appetite so I aint too worried. Tks !

  64. Hi Tim

The book is not entirely ‘his’. It’s a collaborative effort with Dr Tan Ngoh Tiong and Vicky Tan.

Well, if you change your mind, let me know so you can have it when you take possession of the WEBSTER on 7/3 at The Tanamera.

BTW, are you interested in this book: Feed Your Child Right (from infancy to puberty) written by Lynn Alexander and Yeong Boon Yee? It has easy-to-follow charts and recipes.

  65. Hi KT#118,

Not keen to sell my bike cos it is brand new. Has been giving me enjoyable times cycling at Bishan Park and Pierce reservoir in the mornings.

But I still don’t quite like the idea of fitting the bike in the back passenger seat, cos it is such a tight squeeze. And I am covered in perspiration trying to get it all in. If I am not too careful, the bicycle bell, reflector, gears and possibly the handle bar might all fall off. (when i can’t get the handle bar in I become terribly rough and stressed). You know what I mean.

So Ah Nee, bring the bicycle rack to my place for me to try on Sat. OK. Will see which I prefer.

But thanks a lot KT, for your time and assistance.

  66. Hi Lina

Yes, the expiry date printed on the box is May 22, 2010.

    Other information

Full product name: Sun Ancon Total Enzyme Granule

Manufactured by: Min Tong Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd.
Agent: Hsin Ten Enterprise… (ISO-9002 certified)

    Made in Taiwan

There is some Mandarin and English info on the box itself (no pamphlet enclosed), but no info regarding what it’s good for (they assumed it’s common knowledge, I suppose).

The 63 packs are individually wrapped.

Will be glad to answer if you have other queries.

    Regards,
    JassmineT

  67. Hi Jas,

Got expiry date for the enzyme granules?

Nice meeting with you at The Tanamera. Pity did not have time to catch up with you. Another occasion, perhaps.

  68. LydiaC, you hv very good biz acumen, more than a week before the flea mart sales, you’re already selling part of yr table in a sub-lease.

If you can carve out exactly 0.476288 in the middle of your table, I’ll take it to do table-top prancing. Hou ma?

Jass, so you believe in mistaken identity?

That being the case, if anyone finds you sleeping with a rat, it’s not that you’re odd & with strange inclinations but a case of mistaking a rat for a cat.

Anthony……….yes, I have a lot of respect for this man, as long ago as I was in my 20s. Sadly, in modern spore where kiasuism is discreetly promoted, what he believes in & advocates have found no support; worst, dismissed as unreal & naive.

His book…..hee, no thanks, I prefer to tug his beard.

  69. KT @# 130

Okay, will see if I can come up with another hot item and see if history repeats itself.

Do you know the efficacy of ‘Total Enzyme Granule”? Someone offered me 2 boxes of 63 packs of 3g. each and I’ve been wondering what it’s supposed to do ever since.

A friend told me it could be taken to induce/enhance appetite. If it’s true, then I won’t be needing it!

Can offer a sealed box of this supplement for ‘auction’ if it’s popular. You have any info on enzyme supplements? TQ.

There has been no wager at all related to the flea market. There was just a friendly transparent bidding for the soya milk machine and Terence has now the highest bid.

If no one bids higher by flea market date, Terence will win with the highest bid. If he takes delivery the seller is promised a total of exactly $145 for the machine. I wasn’t prepared at this point in time to pay more. It is a decision between consenting adults who are fully cognizant and in control of what they are doing. There are no probabilities or chance in this transaction.

This is different from a bet. Like the bet that Ter is likely to lose to me when the Democratic candidate turns B’rack.

Then what we will all do is to bug Ter to treat everybody to home made soya milk and bean curd. Now isn’t that a beautiful win-WIN for all.

    Hee hee

  71. Tim @#115

Sure or not you want to be a bochap tortise in your next life. May still end up as turtle soup, you know – mistaken identity, mah.

I think you have a dire need of this book: Parenting Today co-written by Anthony Yeo. Want it or not? It’s free (was earmarked for the bazaar at $2).

  72. Hi KT,

Please read your Email, from Terence and myself.

I plan to be at Scorebot at 3pm. on Friday 7 March to discuss with you on various aspects of the Flea Mart as brought up by Terence.

Please reply whether you will be there…….Jie

  73. Hi DanzH and Lydia Chin,

Re: # 117 & # 121…….Both of you would like to take only half a table. You may know each other, or not. Dan, why don’t you call her at her HP or Email.

I will in the meantime reserve a table for the two of you.

    Please confirm…………….Jie

  74. Hi KT

Huh? Don’t tell me there was another wager!

Anyway from the whole episode, I learnt soya milk maker is hot item when compared with coffee maker.

BTW my Tefal coffee maker’s model is 8990. I am unable to post a pic. Haven’t learnt the skill yet – may be by this time next month.

    JassmineT

  75. Lydia @ #120

The final table is rectangular and is smaller. It is closer to 4 feet by 2 subject to availability from the rental company. Otherwise we cannot fit into the layout with the number of tables invloved and expect a decent spread.

So you can probably fill in the space quite comfortably. If too much space, try wearing a scarf and get out a pack of cards to read fortune.

“….You are going to part with money on fortune telling …..”

  76. Hope I’m not too late… I’m the new kid in the blog. I would like to have a table at the flea market. However, a 5×4 ft table is quite big, and i might not have enough stuffs to occupy one full table. All my items are rather small. I can share with someone, if there’s anyone out there keen? Pls contact me on 9663 9722, Lydia. In any case, can the organiser pls let me have one table .. worst case scenario, it will be spacious and neat display!!

  77. Lina @ #111

    No thanks needed.

Before I am admonished for dissuading you from selling your mountain bike, consider this.

Now you can package your Corolla with the mountain bike at the flea market. Then get a Dahon for each member of your family and a panel van running low cost diesel with tax deductions. The whole family can go cycling together.

More than enough left over budget to plan a family trip to Nepal buying goods for the next planned flea market. You can take up half a hall in expo by yourself.

And the tax deductable compony? Nepal Enterprises Pte Ltd of course.

    Hee hee

  78. Jie, I was assuming that Lynne is taking half a table. If Lynne is taking a table, it fine with me.

I am ready to take a table or sharing with anyone. By the way, I don’t think i met Lynne.

  79. Huh? Haha, Jass, ever heard of the Chinese saying “Jui Oong chi yi bu zai jiu”? (the drunk ah pek’s desire isnt in the wine).

So whether it was a milk-maker, a coffee maker or even hades currency maker, so long as the cavemen see the coy & bashful dame, they cheong.

Well, I dont mind your ending of the story but pls, can it be a tortoise and not a turtle?

I hv been telling my butties that if one does return in a reincarnation, the best to be is a tortoise which gets to live for centuries, doesnt need to kill for food, looks at this rottening world lazily (if it cares) or else sleeps in its shell giving no hoot to the woes & wars outside.

But a turtle? Heee, no thanks, the poor fella gets peeled and made into turtle soup.

(Play with you 2mrow, will hv to coo my gal to sleep shortly after bashing her for doing badly in her exams, then rush back for my own sleep)

  80. Hi Tim @# 109

(Editor’s note: Discrepancy – the cavemen were interested in the soya milk maker, not in the coffee maker.) I’ll leave it to you to amend that portion of chapter Two. Now the chapter ending:

“Meanwhile, unbeknown to the referee wannabe, the cavemen thought they had been defeated by a Ninja turtle (as it was dark and the referee wannabe had carried a backpack.)

“We must become his disciples!” they said in unison, so they they quickly scrambled to their feet and raced off to look for their hero.

They saw him stagger away from the damsel never in distress in the direction of Jalan Besar. He appeared to be in distress!

They shadowed him, waiting for an opportune moment to beg him to be their Sifu. They saw him go into a manhole. They followed suit, but to their amazement, their hero had disappeared into thin air.

“Truly he is a Ninja Turtle!” they exclaimed. The End

  81. Hi KT/Kenneth,

Thank you for your advise. The bike just about fitted in the rear passenger seat of my Toyota Corolla (front wheel removed) with the front passanger seat moved forward, so that bike rests at an angle. My mountain bike is pretty long at 17.5″. Definitely more sturdy than the Dahon. Good for long distance riding.

  82. Jassmine at #104

Continue with your story, you could be another writer like the Harry Potter first and many series.

Your pick, English/Literature teacher. Soar with your hidden talents.

  83. Haha, like that guy who carries the cross – a red x to be exact – and ended what he started with a “Chapter Closed” (and actually managed to close the thread), you aint so lucky with your “The End”.

The thread remains open and I aint denied my right to reply, heng ah.

“The damsel never in distress now offers an ordinary Tefal filter coffee maker for sale. As the referee wannabe did not expect any caveman fight over a mere coffee maker, he slunk off into the night. The End, so she thought in puerile innocence as she trudged home but in the darkness, the 2 cavemen laid in waiting. One pounced out and snatched her coffee maker; the other seized her. She screamed louder than a baby going thru her first motion and was heard by the referee wannabe who rescued, first her coffee maker then her from what wd hv been an ordeal of a life-long regret. She was overwhelmed by the hero, gazed at him so tenderly that hero had to look away (shy lah). Since then she treasures her coffee maker like LKY cos she knows he’ll come every morning for her coffee as she patiently waits for him with the best of brew……….”

With that, you want to end the story you can.

  84. Hi Danz H,

Re: # 17, when you said you will share a table with Lynne, was she in agreement with you.???
Apparently she was unaware that she does have a table at this Flea Mart.

Please let me know the position………Jie

  85. Hi Margaret,

Thank you for letting me know. I will reserve a table for your sister Rosalind Png.

How about you?? Are you still OK with 1 table??

  86. Hi Jas @#61,

If you are willing to sell the soyo bean maker, please bring it along to the SHC Flea mart. My offer $20 disc per year of use.

I think KT has already opt out.

    Terence

  87. Hi Tim @# 92

    Your story hasn’t ended.

“The damsel never in distress now offers an ordinary Tefal filter coffee maker for sale. As the referee wannabe did not expect any caveman fight over a mere coffee maker, he slunk off into the night. The End ”

    JassmineT

  88. Hi Margaret,

Re:- # 94….Is Rosalind Png the same as Rosalind Phang???

Re: My previous Email to you, may I know whether
    1. You plan to reserve a second table for yourself.
    2. Reserve a table for your sister Rosalind.
    3. Or share the second table with her.

    Please let me know…………..Jie

  89. Hi Alfred,

Re: # 90..Thank you for wanting to participate as a vendor in SHC’s Flea Mart. We will reserve a table for you.

Btw, are you the young guy who is with Rosen International. I just want to clarify as to who really wrote in for the table. Seems there is a mix-up.

    Please let me know……….Jie

  90. MaryC, if their spouses/partners like saying “such things”, heeee, how to be faithful in the first place? Fated & fateful if they do get crucified by their more faithful halves……..

StevenC, can see that you’re getting better by the day, take care……………

  91. Hi Tim,

    Pls. refer at #92,

Very creative imagination and humorous too , makings of a good script writer.

Btw,how is your little princess getting on ?

  92. Hahaha, ‘proper perspective’ indeed.
Ya, YOU better watch out for the irate wives/ partners, saying such things about their faithful spouses.

  93. MaryC, I didnt imagine……it’s all up there….I merely re-produce them & put in proper perspective.

Thankfully, spouses of the noti ones arent reading this forum otherwise, mayhem for sure, with tables turned at the flea mart and goods thrown as far as sungei rd for the garang guni men there to catch……….

  94. This thread is getting very romantic.

Somewhere up there in these postings, Jass susggested cheonh cheonhkou kou. Soon KT came back with “All you have to do is say “YES!” reassuring her with “Somebody loves you”……….

Ostensibly exasperated, terence came in screaming “KT, lay off your hands. You know I have been looking for this thing”.

Haha, the damsel never in distress was so distressed that she had to withdraw her milk maker all all. So no need for me to referee a cavemen fight over what wd hv beem, fittingly, a lady and her milk-making tool……….

  95. Haha, yr 15 + year old coffee maker must be a teenager by now. I guess the plug pins are of the round type and if so very off-beat in spore 2008……..

Still in its virgin state and for $20, I can see that KT is seriously considering………

  96. Alfred writing in the capacity as the Administrator to Terence to make a reservation………..this world is getting more topsy turvy after Kastari’s disappearance from a supposedly hihest security enclosure…………..

  97. Lina # 87

Use a plastic table cloth costing $3 to $4 to line the back seats and the job’s done. When finished you can use it to line the boot. You are even cleaner at the end of the day.

What car do you drive? One wheel is enough. It is easier to remove the wheel than to fold a Dahon with practise.

The Dahon is still one piece with added hinges etc. It’s lightness and stability may compromise safety over long use. With its high seats and small wheels, tt looks like a toy bike built for a circus clown. Probably useful if you want to cycle from one end of the roulette table to the other. It’s engineered for portability not for serious biking.

What do you wear when you bike? It does not fit into my macho “Hell Biker” fashion wear. To be realistic and rustic you must pick them up from a flea market. Prefer a meaner looking machine than that puppy to make you look the part.

  98. Hi Lina and KT

On bicycles: Look into folding bikes if you want to take them in cars or public transport. Unless you have a big car or SUV it is a hassle to put a normal bike in the car and your seats will get messed up too.

I’m seriously thinking of getting a Dahon folding bike for general use as well as SHC bike events.

  99. Hi KT,

I can even remove 2 wheels and put them back. But was thinking there is a lot of grease on the bicycle chain and the car seats will be dirty.

Anyway, will try it out. Thanks a million.

  100. Incredible. So many people with so little rubbish!?

The more organized your home is, the more organized your mind will be. Clean out a corner of your life and creativity will instantly fill it. Throw out the “Old” to get in the “New”.

Let me tell you about our policy. If something is not used within a given period, we will try to convert it for cash. Even if it is not worth much, it will cost us space, stress and comfort to accomodate. Besides obsolescence will quickly reduce its value if we held on. And wasted real estate today is the real expensive holding cost.

One of the things we are trying to do at the flea market is to help you get the maximum value of things that you use. And get rid of those that you don’t. You can try Cash Converter but they pay peanuts. We try to do better at the flea market because we are non-profit. It is all part of giving back as members to SHC.

  101. Jas @ # 77

Right now we have a great machine at Scorebot that makes mocca to expresso to cuppacinno. At home, I have a number of coffee machines. I am a caffine connoiseur. I take my kopi kosong to get into the pure and uncorrupted flavour.

But your Tefal at $20 is a great deal. Good luck. On Monday, we’ll try to get a bid of it on-line. Can you send a photo. And what is the exact model?

  102. YK@74..

  103. Lina Nor @ # 78 to 81

You don’t need a bicycle rack unless you want an extraordinary gentleman (EOGM) to come up and rescue you in a fairy story ending. It’s the end because chances are he won’t turn up next time.

Here’s what you do if you need to DIY. Learn to take off the front wheel of the bicycle. Any car will take your bicycle in the back seat. With a little practise, it’s a two minutes job to take it out / put it back for transportation.

And without one wheel it is much lighter to lift.

HHmmm….. Need I remind you also to make sure that you don’t leave the wheel behind.

So there now. Sell your rack at the flea market to EOGM and buy yourself the latest and coolest bicycle fashion wear.

Get your priorities right. Bicycling is not about riding bicycles. It is easier to take the bus. It is about being admire by everybody whilst doing it.

    Hee hee

  104. Steven @ # 76

“At UK Covent Gdn flea market ,the sellers equipped themselves with Visa transaction machines for customer’s purchases unlike in Sungai Rd.”

You are forgiven for you were away and couldn’t have known. Sungei Rd is cash only. But Scorebot can.

Scorebot can process multiple cards in any currency. It can transact in any form cash, futures or options. AND, in addition to cash and cashless on-line modes of payment, Scorebot can also barter globally without cash. Scorebot is a member of the Ozone barter network.

If you want to exchange bicycle rack for coffee maker in a cashless exchange and still have value change in terms of Ozone points, it can be done.

The only thing we can’t do is to exchange kisses for you.

Well…. not exactly. Depends on who we have to kiss. Some million$ also cannot. Some we’ll do it for free. We are picky and selective.

Not like some MRT boys we know. They’ll kiss anything that has lips.

    Hee-hee

Last time used it indoor..but now prefer to go outdoor..now its collecting dust at home..
If u want, I can deliver foc

  106. Hi Ah Nee,

So must be very heavy or good quality. Or made of gold? Weighs a ton? If poor quality, the whole rack can fall off and cause an accident.

Yah, was told to unhook and keep it, otherwise get stolen. Cannot fit the bicycle into the back passenger seat lah! You think I drive the London cab? Cannot even fit into the boot, even with one wheel detach. Bicycle still sticking out. But was told can hold the boot down with a piece of rope. Now got bicycle, got a headache too!! Worth giving it a try. Thanks.

  107. Lina, I got, I got, the one attach to the boot of the car. You don’t buy, I lend it to you first, you use it and give me feedback, can? I find it very troublesome to use, you must have the strength to hook and tie to the car boot before lifting your bicycle onto it. Then when you reach the destination, you have to unhook and untie and keep it in your car, otherwise “kena” stolen, before you go cycling. After cycling, you have to do it all over again to bring your bicycle home. In the past, I used to cycle with my son and he is the one who did all these, I don’t think I have the strength to do it. Another alternative is, try to put your bicycle behind the passenger seat. So how, you want to try using it, I can lend you.

    Ah Nee

  108. Hi KT and others,

I’ve a filter coffee maker, a house-warming present received 15+ years ago that has NEVER been used (KT, this I sumpah!), but am not sure if it was recycled by the giver. Anyway, the set looks new ( a wee bit dusty, perhaps) but does not have the user manual.

The brand is Tefal and it’s 1 litre capacity.
    The price: $20!

    JassmineT

  109. Hi Lina,

    Thanks.

Not advertising but sincere appreciation of your cooking talent.

At “fleece” market,u can sell anything under the sun as long it is not illegal goods otherwise has to chabut when mata2 comes.

WAITING WITH BATED BREATH FOR TAKERS.

YOU CAN START BY TAKING HALF A TABLE. HOW ABOUT IT DAISY, ANN SEET, SOPHIA AND KENNETH ?????

    WAITING TO HEAR FROM YOU.

  114. Hi Norlinda,

It is good to know you are supporting this Flea Mart so wholeheartedly. I am sure Yew Kwong and your cycling kakis understands you missing this one cycling event. We will ensure that this clash does not happen again.

Don’t stress yourself out though. Take it as a chance to spring clean. { it is Spring in some part of the world. } Have fun, its a ‘happening’ you are enjoying.

    Tks & rgds………….Jie

  115. Hi SHCians,

    # 40…… Lina, the items on sale can also be used or second hand, as long as they are in good condition. To tell you the truth, in most Flea Mart, anything goes, You never know what will sell. Like Lily who purchased that bicycle bell for Terence.

    # 42……Kathy, this Flea mart is the first attempt by SHC. The organisers would be very appreciative of any participation and support we can get. If everyone pitches in and make this first one a success, subsequent ones will be a cinch.
So, please don’t wait and see. Come and join in the fun of this first flea mart.

    # 63…….KT Wong has an excellent idea, if ” borrowing ” his kitchen is on the table. So Dennis, Caroline, Lina and all aspiring chefs, this is a chance to kick start what could be a new phase in your life. How about taking or sharing a table???????

This Hailam soh can cook chicken rice, Hainanese pork chop, chicken curry, beef rendang, mutton soup (Hainanese herbal one), nasi lemak, fish head curry, apa apa macam also can.

Want to hire me as a cook? Just kidding. I enjoy my air con office. Cooking and baking only a pass time.

Sorry lah. I only said I will be at Scorebot on Fri if I can make it but had to go home early. I was up until 2am baking cup cakes and putting decorations for them for my grandnephew’s birthday party on Sat, 1 Mar. Will go to flea market to help man Norly’s stall as promised on 15 Mar.

Maybe I can make carrot cup cakes then Scorebot can put in their fridge and sell – then we split profit can or get a cut for every sale? Apa macam KT. If you want sample, let me know when you will be at Scorebot and I can bring it there after work. I walk from Millenia Tower to Bali Lane. Very near (at least for me). The after tasting, you tell me the deal is on or not.

BTW – did not use treadmill but cycle my bike which is wireless so no shock for the weekend.

Norly sayang, I will help you lelong but you must chope and book table first lah.
Sorry very busy last two days thats why no sound from me.

helo!..u cannot say “Is that all u girls can cook?” at least they bring sedap makan2 for everybody to savour u know..next time round..maybe u should bring yr specialty ok..

    Sori…having said that…im not a great cook!hhmmm..

  120. Jas @ #61

Sad day for High Finance. (BTW, we make money in HF not bets.) I don’t think Ter mind. None of us really believe that it’s never been used anyway.

If not, make the billions. “Sister Jas”, huh. Don’t like Aunty? Too many convent girls in the world.

Hmmm… How about “Jus Soya”. A meaningful play with names. Sounds like a billion dollar franchise?

Here’s some suggestions. Prepare some inventory for sale. Demonstrate preparation on the day. Add to the excitement and teach us how to prepare our own soya milk and bean curd.

Meanwhile I find a product line of milky juicy’s for sale to Soya DIY’s and bring along venture capitalists to try. Don’t thank me. We’re partners after all.

Don’t worry Ter. One way or another you’ll be making yur own Soya’s by month end.

  121. BTW, this reminds me.

Yo, Dennis the Small. Are you there with the small fruity tarts? (Dennis the Large is preoccupied. He has been trying to get out of his suit since Friday’s talk.)

For the rest of you who haven’t tried Dennis’s tarts, they are absolutely gorgeous. Full and creamy. Put your tongue in and it melts. It is a tart that a king will give up his kingdom for. (Like some of his imbecile relatives did before in history.)

And Carol, are you coming with your carrot cake. Still having a shocking time?

Compete with Lina’s yam. We can put you at each end of the flea market.

Is that all you girls can cook? Has it been that long in the convent.

  122. Lina @ #58

Of course. Members can sell food and drinks and keep the profits. Just arrange with Scorebot through us in advance.

To be fair to the cafe which is sponsoring the premises, all “homecooking” sould be put up for sale with a price. No potluck.

We were going roll out the global Aunty Jas’s Soya franchise on 15 Mar at the flea market until some spoiler came along. Don’t want to say only. What to do. Never mind. Billions come, billions go.

So what do you have in mind? You have to let us know first so that we can make arrangements. You can bring your home cook recipes and secret preparations. We have a full central kitchen and storage. You can even prepare your home recipe and test market it on the day.

  123. Hi (better make it ‘dear’)KT and Terence,

I’m afraid your wager will have to come to an abrupt end without winner/loser. I have to withdraw the soymilk maker offer ‘cos of an error in description – it’s been used(!) without my knowledge.

Oh dear, so sorry to both and thanks for the interest shown. Perhaps I shall sell Sister Jas’ after all.

    Regretfully yours,

    JassmineT

  124. For the rest of you innocent bystanders out there, soya bean milk is still available.

Original age old Yeo Hiap Seng Formula. If you want bean curd, buy take-away from the market before you come.

Fierce bidding. I give up. So far. But I may be back! And buy it for $150 on the day. Hee-hee.

So Jas remember to bring milky juicy on the day. If you wish, you may put it on display and price tag it for more than $145 at the flea market until day end. But if there is no higher price buyer end of flea market you must deliver it to Ter for the $145. If he doesn’t take it for any reason, he is obliged to pay you $15.

Wow, exciting no? Rich, yes? Welcome to the Leaque of High Finance players.

Uhhhh…. don’t forget the deal arranger’s fee of 10% of whatever the outcome to me.

Morals of the Story: Never let emotions into your trading. Never fall in love with your trade.

  126. Hi Steven,

You mean flea market can also sell food? Anyway thank you for advertising. It is nothing special really. You guys must be hungry.

Will put my recipe together and type it out later on. Take care.

  127. Hi Jas,

Bring the Soya milk maker to the SHC Flea Mart. It’s a done deal. I up KT. $15 premium plus $130. KT, lay off your hands. You know I have been looking for this thing.

    Terence Seah

  128. KT @#52

Cannot compare “grapes with apples”. Col Sanders is a brand name while Sister Jas’ is not even at the starter’s block.

  129. KT @#47

I like the idea of getting $10 for doing nothing. And I get to keep my soya milk maker.
    Of course I say yes!

    @#49

Good idea to sell tow huay chwee, but it won’t be organic ‘cos ingredients are too expensive. And the recipe is from Sister Jas’ Secret Recipe….but who’s going to prepare? I’ve a table to look after so it won’t be me.

    JassmineT

  130. Hi Terence @#39

You can have a preview of the soymilk maker before bazaar day. I don’t think I want to cart it there together with a 20 kg. bag. It’s quite bulky. If you are in the vicinity of Serangoon MRT, I can meet you there with the soymilk maker.

  138. Hi Nor,

Everything you have not used or worn for the past year, lelong. Otherwise your house will become a rubbish dump.

Think you better go flea market to sell your things cos must give the organizers some support considering all the hard work they have put in. We will come help you.

At the same time your maid will be happy that your house is easier to tidy with all that excess gone. Bringing the clothes to JB house is just an excuse, so that your S’pore house will look less cluttered. But will you wear? No!!

  139. Hi KT, Jas,

I like to buy the soya milk maker. So, I shall be very keen to look at it at the SHC Flea Mart.

Now, KT, I am willing to pay $2 for the Mar 15 call option at strike price of SGD 130.

    Terence Seah

  140. KT @ #35

No. I’m not the one. It’s Caroline.

I’m quite worried about your sale pitch!. Wait cannot live up to expectations, how? What are the consequences? Better be transparent upfront!

Am not sure if you are making an offer ‘cos betting lingo I lbk!

    JassmineT

  141. helo Lina…ya lah banyak barang2 till donno which one to lelong..u wanna help me choose?,come ransack my hse lah haha

  142. Jas @#35

    Hmmm….

Were you the one who offered to bring the carrot cake yesterday? We miss you.

Back to milky juicy. I am paying $1 for your March 15 call option at strike price of SGD 130.

Now, let me try hedge my position first.

“One-time, unrepeatable offer. The world’s best soya bean juicer cum tofu maker. Lady owner. New and still in original packing. Life-time warranty. (warrantied for the entire life of the product). Limited edition. Autographed by Lady owner.

Must sell at incredible firesale price of SGD 180. Lady owner not included.”

    She say one-lah.

  143. Hi KT

    Comparing soya milk makers –

Difficult to compare between ‘grapes and apples’. There is no Bondi brand in the survey. Mine is also multi-function – can make even tofu

I think an offer of USD 99 has a very good chance of securing it. Want to make an offer of SGD 130?

(Money back guarantee if machine is faulty)

    JassmineT

  144. Following KT at #30 on cashmeres, beyond Napel, Inner Mongolian, Iraq and Iran quality too.

They produce one of the world finest mountain goat cashmeres.

I bought one coat for RMB1500 (in 2002 deflation then), the same will cost at least USD1000 in Singapore, branded two/three times.

Please let me know if any of you are interested

  145. Hi Jie & everybody,

If time permits, I may drop by.

Good luck and great success to all you hardworking bunch & enthusiastic peddlers out there.

    Cheers!

  146. Lina @ #29

Don’t worry. Scorebot is committed to stay open until the last member leaves. The tables are available until next morning.

The action gets hotter through the night at Bali Lane. The high rollers get active at around 10 pm the happy party hour. They stay to morning on Sats.

We can also sit around eating, drinking, talking and watch the money roll in. Bored you can learn trading, play computer games, go on internet or watch TV. You can bunk overnight upstsirs if you wish.

Like kelong. Only better. If you like fishing I’ll try to borrow Philia’s goldfish tank.

  147. Anybody interested in representing the best of arts and crafts from Nepal. From cashmeres, hand embroided scarves to art and scultures.

Good low risk, high potential business starting from SHC flea market. It is an opportunity out of goodwill. They are prepared to let you start at a flea market test without paying Orchard road rent.

With the IR, you have growth potential where sky is the limit.

Don’t think of the money you can make. Think of the holiday to Nepal where you are hosted, feasted and toasted by the local craftsman and artists.

    Nepal’s Lau Ta….

  148. Hi Ah Nee,

By the time we finish cycling and get to flea market, it is just about closing time. So want to lelong what? Better idea, you buy everything, then Nor doesn’t even need to rent half a table. Just bring all the stuff to ECP on her bicycle.

  149. Hi Jie and everybody,

The numbers and interests we have for the 1st SHC Flea Mart are definitely a good start. Let’s see what the latest count is for next Tuesday, and we should next plan a meeting with KT and the guys at SocreBot.

Looks like the Flea Mart would at 3pm, and probably end at 8pm when the remaining cycling team arrives.

This is an excellent learning process, as we have been talking about a Flea Mart since the start of SHC. Any suggestions to excite more members into participating in the Flea Mart?

    Terence Seah

  150. Nor Sayang

Knowing you, instead of selling your stuff, you’ll probably end up buying more stuff from others.

Ah Nee also another junk collector.

  151. Nor, don’t worry lah, after cycling, all of us will go to the SHC Flea mart and help you to “lelong”. If “tak laku” we will help ourselves to all your barang barang and follow by makan makan…boleh tak? he..he…he…..

    Ah Nee

  152. Hi Nor,

By the time you come back from cycling, sudah lambat. Mana ada masa jual your barang barang. So give away free lah!

You selling how much barang barang? Seems like a lot. Don’t think you can do both. You either choose cycling or flea market. As for us, we got no table so we can go anytime we like.

  153. Hi Tim

So drastic the reduction, I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry!

How about an auspicious canto no. $99 (chiong-chiong,kow-kow)?

    JassmineT

  154. Alamak!…just realise the lelong only start at 3pm…like that surely my buddies tak boleh tolong leh??..adomak!..susah lah!..hhhmmm..
    Jie…I wanna ‘siam’ ah!..so scared.. :)

  155. I donno why am i doing this?..thot can ‘escape’ to cycling…but still end up in ‘hot soup’! apa macam!hehe

Carly…so we together hor?..jangan lari ok..i very susah if lone ranger..
now must go ‘korek2’ our barang2 ..think hor one table not enough!..just kidding lah Jie..don give us another table…we are beginner, so are are ‘testing’ the excitement hor..:)
Like that hor…my cycling buddies..AhNee,LinaNg,Suzhang,Lily,Dolly,Molly must tolong2 at our bazaar in the morning…then proceed to cycling in the evening..
after cycling….I will blanja dinner with all the ‘untong’ from the flea mkt!..deal or not?..hehe

  157. Hi KT

“Go, Go, Go for it!” Not so fast lah. Must tread cautiously when landscape is alien. Your audience is a greenhorn, but thanks for the big picture.

    JassmineT

  158. Jas @#14

To make maximum impact you should parallel post to all channels. What works best for you is what works.

Try posting to 2GD. I am not familiar with its interface but tell enquiries to go down to the flea market.

We will have another free website for you to post next week through Scorebot, the venue for SHC Flea Market. That website is commercially networked and will provide your product with different exposure. It should have an auction price listing interface and you can post videos too. Scorebot has no commercial interest in that website but the developer has kindly developed a dedicated section for SHC Flea Market out of goodwill.

Similarly, try to post your products in various forums and blogs. Perphaps YK can advise how to do this better.

Anything that can help to make market and promote your product must be good. You sow what you reap. So what are you waiting for?

    Go, Go, Go for it!

  159. Hi da Jie

When a person is pleased with his/her wishes, you will have the whole hand and the whole world of faithfuls.

Don’t let the cheeky talking lawyer to be more cheeky also, lor!

  160. “Make sure my working partner is happy and bring in high revenues”.

Hahaha, no way………certainly not from a table, pretty, vivacious she may be………….

  161. Ah Tee Tee AndrewK …..ah…..

Is it in particular that #3 is the magic number, or you want to sandwiched by female retailers on either side of your table.
I will do my utmost, either or both ways, but the allotment is not established yet.
    Patience, young man…………Jie

  162. SCHians…….Please note that this the new thread for the Flea Mart.

Terence…….Is it possible to close the previous posting.

Margaret Cheo…………welcome as a vendor to the Fleamart. Are you taking the table on your own.? Please let me know.
