I.T. Learning – Sep & Oct 08

Hi Guys

We know u had waited long time for this. These classes are confirmed n opened to members of SHC & YWCA (in collaboration) –

(1) Venue : YWCA, Outram Road premises.

(2) Day & Time : Saturday, 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

(3) Fee : $6 per participant per session of 2 1/2 hr. Example, 2 sessions of Movie Maker (1 & 2) = $12.

(4) Maximum Enrolment per class : 12 persons subject to 1st come 1st serve. Minimum 8 participants to start a class.

(5) Payment : By IB/ATM transfer to POSB Current A/C 796-03473-4 (Loh Yew Kwong)

1.   6 Sep 08 : Multimedia & Digital – Downloading of songs n video from Youtube through online conversion via Zamzar. Plus simple photo editing if time permits.

3.   20 Sep 08 : Multimedia & Digital – Movie Maker Part 1 of 2 – Putting all your photo 2gether to make a movie.

4.   27 Sep 08 : Multimedia & Digital – Movie Maker Part 2 of 2 – Putting all your photo 2gether to make a movie.

    Class on coming Sat, 6.9.08 is confirmed. Registration will close on Tue, 2.9.08 n fees must be paid via IB by Wed, 3.9.08 after which notes will be emailed to you for your preparation.

    Class for 13.9.08 maybe cancelled or postponed to some other date as min number is not met.

    There are still 2 seats for coming nx 2 Sat class, Microsoft Movie Maker.

    Microsoft Movie Maker organises your photo collection n turn them into movie bundles wif choiced music or song. U just sit bck n watch while munching your favourite snacks at the same time.

    11 Oct, this Sat & 18 Oct, next Sat.

    U can’t go this Saturday, 11th Oct as my company has a Run in the morning. Attendance is compulsory.

    Class for 18 Oct 08 is cancelled as the team will be away in Thailand to help in restoring peace so that our members can hv a safe trip in coming Nov 08.

    We are wrapping up the IT classes wif 3 more 2 go. Registration for 11 Oct is closed. Classes for 25 Oct n 1 Nov are still opened 4 registration. If u are interested, pls do so otherwise u may hv 2 wait longer 4 next ones 2 come in 2009.

    Fyi I had tsf $10 to ur C A/C actually put in $12 but mac rejected $2 only accepted $10, my Deposit Slip Ref 8833 dd 8.10 Time-18:19.I had reg for 11 & 18 Oct classes.
    Since now 18 Oct Class was cancelled, you cld refund me $4 when you see me.

    I am very keen to attend the class but will be away on 1st Nov (going to Hainan with Dolly and the gals)….so am wondering if it is worth the while doing only 1 session? Otherwise when will the next class be?

    With the last class ended last Sat, we will be holding 2 more classes for those who had requested for learning how to buy n sell stuff online (ebay) targetted for Sat, 13 n 20 Dec 08 at YWCA Outram Road Centre.

    The enrolment for 12 persons had been filled. We wouldnt be conducting further courses for SHC members until mid of 2009.

    Wif this we wrap up 2008 and look forward to do something different in 2009, namely; 1) courses for domestic helpers n foreign workers n 2) revive the used PC project for those SHC members w/o PCs 2 own PC sets.

    If u do hv unwanted PC sets or CPU or monitors 2 discard or giveaway, pls alert us. We wld collect n refurbish them 2 gv it new lease of life 2 proud SHC members who dun own one.

    If u dun hv PC set n wld like 2 own them, do let us know.

    1) Opening account with Ebay (Compulsory to hold a Credit Card which is required for verification purpose)
    2) Opening account with PayPal (Optional)
    3) Taking Photo of Items. In absence, how to search for n borrow similar photo/pic.
    4) Editing Photo of Items
    5) Putting Up Ads, Inserting Text Description n Uploading of Photo/Pic
    6) Tips n Tricks On Making Your Ads short n sharp n eye catchy
    7) Must Do ONE live transaction
    ‘8) How to Search, Browse n Buy Items
    9) How to check Buyers’ credentials n understand what are Ratings
    10) How to ask Questions on Items, etc
    11) How to negotiate prices
    12) Leave feedback/rating

    We will re-run sessions again but in 2009. Do keep a lookout for posting on SHC website.
