  1. Hi Yew Kwong,

I have recently activated Avatar for use as a picture, next to the comment. I notice you have already started using it. Can you share with us how you have an Avatar symbol next to your comments?

I am sure members will be glad to use this little fun feature.

  2. Hi Yew Kwong
Welcome to join us for dinner. Keep in contact via mobile on that day. Cya.

    Hi Terence
Activated my Gravatar image. Thanks for the tip.

  3. Hi Lily,

Thanks for organising this cycling activity again. I will be there this Sat.

Yew Kwong, Did I read it correctly? you will be cycling back from M’sia and will join us for dinner? Wow, where do you get the energy? Just thinking about it makes me exhausted. Still it will be good to see you then.

Douglas Chan, are you coming? We need a long distance cyclist like you to bring us to Changi Village. Its been a while since I went there and might lose my way (again).

Where have all the SHC cyclists gone? Lina, Hou Chong, Andrew, Tian Soo (you have a new bike right?) Dan H, Joyce?
Get off your butts and have some workout, not least to delay an unwelcomed visit to our ‘Old Fogies Homes’.

    Cheers All

  4. Hi Lily,

No need to put the ?? liao, Already promised, Sure come, rain or shine, only you and me or more people. Put my name everytime lah.

Welcome, brother BL and Prom queen JC. From now on, always come hor. Support Lily and me hor. Thanks

  5. Dear Ah Nee & Lily, See U Sat. after the “Drama Mama” lunch. hehe. I try my best to support when ever it’s conducive to do so. One of my biggest grouses is finding a parking space there. See U Sat. Cheers!

  6. Hi Henry – Welcome your support. Your 2nd time cycling with us.

If you arrive before 4pm and are patient to wait in Carpark C (the one behind the rental kiosk), there’s a chance. If not, Carpark B which is further away from McDonald, is easier to get a parking space. These 2 carparks are free parking and therefore, more difficult to find lots.

The pay parking (inside the Cove) will definitely have lots of parking space infront and behind. Whenever I am running late, I will go into this one.

    Cya :)

  7. Hi Boon Liang,

    Saw your post @ #10.
Do you mean this Sat or the next cycling activity? Whatever it may be, thank you very BIG. But I will slow you down, so you must factor that in.

    Cheers. Cu this Sat.

  8. Hi Charles #4

Thanks for your interest in long distance cycling, unfortunately I am unable to join this Saturday as I will be going north to show my two index fingers before I could taste durians and see how mushroom looks like.

I will also be unable to join July’s cycling as most of the long distance cyclists will be in Ipoh for the Ipoh Century Ride 2011, this is led my our leader Yew Kwong.

Boon Liang – glad that you are back, miss those old days of long distance cycling with you, maybe you can accompany Charles to CV this weekend and also next month.

    Happy cycling

  9. Hi Charles #4,
Year 2011 has been pretty tied up for training and practicing due to our involvement in some events.
Will drop by when time permits.

    Cheers,

  10. Hi Joyce,

What events are you training for? And with whom? And for where? And when will these take place? Anybody going to HK again to trek on the islands? In Oct/Nov I mean?

Can post here or not, if it is not a big secret?

  11. Hi Charles

Yes, I will be cycling to Pengerang via Kota Tinggi n Desaru through Causeway. Some SHC members are also going on this ride. This is part of training for Jul’s 160km ride in Ipoh. Not forgetting, we are going to enjoy the food there after the pain. Return ride will be by ferry. Thus hope to catch up wif fellow members for dinner.

During the next 2 months, we are having 2 cycling rides; one to Ipoh in Jul n the other to Mersing in Aug. Thus riders need to train if they want smooth ride. Of course, the rewards will be the best food after the pain.

Come Sep, I intend to organise a trip to Pengarang for those who want an easy n “leisure” ride. This will be the 3rd successive year I will be organising n hopefully not the last. More info will be posted nearer to date.

  12. Hi Yew Kwong,

Are you replying on Joyce’s behalf? Same trip?

Anyway I salute you. Cycling from Sgp , across Causeway, road to KTinggi, Desaru and southwards to Pengerang by 4pm to catch the last ferry back to CVillage. And then another 20km+ to ECP to join us for dinner, and then cycle back to your house? I no no what to say lah.

I can afford to buy you dinner IF you survive the day. I don’t see how you can eat after all the torture. If you have problems come and see me lah, or Feztus, why torture yourself lidat?

I wish you good weather and courteous motorists on that day.

“May the Sun shine softly on your face,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the rain fall gently on your fields,
    And till we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.”

    An old Irish poem.

CU on Sat for your bet. Cheers

  13. Yew Kwong #16

I look forward to join you in the torturous ride to Pengarang in September.

It make me reduce a few grams. Even though I eat them back a day after, it is still better then nothing.

Steven Chan is my good friend but I don’t look forward to sharing bed with him again. Please make sure we can opt not to go to bed with another male this time.

  14. Hi Charles,

Yes, YK #16 answers some of your questions.
Besides these events, we do cycle with different groups near our residential areas and schedule to suit our routines…. all for the love of this activity.

It’ll be other place for treking (for me) this year. YMCA does organise the similar trek in HK 19-23Nov’11, you can check out ‘outdoor adventure’ under ymca.org.sg.

Let me know if you’re interested in 1 day mountain climbing in Malaysia.

    Cheers,

  15. Hi Charles #12,
Shall discuss this on Sat….let’s stay with the group for now to land the support to our cycling EOs. We can do another round to CV if you’re interested.

    Hi Douglas #13,
These days, taking a slow & leisure approach on long distance cycling as and when I can. Yes, I do missed the good times in 2008 & 2009 cycling round island and in JB. So much to do and see along the way.

    Hi Tian Soo #18,
Am looking forward to another round of Pengg trip in Sep with YK leading again. Sure hope to see you again…

  16. Hi EOs Lily and Ah Nee,

Thanks for organising this cycling activity and also to Boon Liang for leading another sub-group all the way to the canal. Lucky for all we had very good weather.

Yew Kwong, I think I know 5 people interested in your Pengarang trip. If you do a posting, I think you can find 2 boatloads easily. Hope it materialises soon.

  17. Thank you Charles. Thanks also to those who showed up at the door step – Lydia Chin & Daisy Neo, and to 2 special guests who came to join us for dinner.

To all you folks who came to lend your support – be it for cycling, or for dinner & fellowship, thank you.

    Lily & Ah Nee
(Too bad, Yew Kwong couldn’t make it.) :(

  18. Hi All,
After the write up of Lily with regards to the poor attendances for the cycling kakis, I was quite sad then as I was enjoying every moments of the cycling at sum particular Sat when this activity was on. Hence, despite of numerous poor turn ups, after Lily’s write-up, 4 or 5 of us (namely Lily, Douglas, John, Janie, ANee n me), we still go ahead with this activity. Thus, it was indeed a joyous moment, when yesterday, a turnout of above 10paxs for cycling with some ‘regulars’ coming back to support us. We had lots of laughing times when jokes were shared among us. After cycling, dinner was another fun moment 2 share among each other. It was a pity some of us had 2 left immediately after dinner as we had other class 2 attend.

So, cycling activity is going to back on track again.. Hip hip hurray… :) Cheers.. Dolly

  19. Hip Hip Hooray to Cycling team!! long live the cycling team!! Thanks AhNee, Lily & our dear Club Manager Dolly for another happy, fun & successful cycling outing. ARIGATO GOZAIMASU !!!

  20. Its good to return to ECP for another “season” of monthly cycling. Thanks to all the EOs Lily & Ah Mee for organising and with the great support, am sure this will continue.

Like Charles says… good weather and a good ride.
Next round all the way to CV.

  21. Thanks to both EOs and fellow cycling kakis for being so patient with me a slow as a snail cyclist after few months of laying off from cycling.

Thanks for the great fellowship time together too.

  22. Not at all Janet, it’s good to have you back. With you around, I am no longer “the last to arrive”…..heehee. But, given a few months, you will be “back on track” leaving behind again.

Hey BL, next time, give us clear instruction hor. Don’t keep us waiting and waiting for you guys to return ok? BTW, it’s Ah Nee – not Ah Mee….. must be typo error.

Wei Buddy, you’ve got the figure wrong lah. We had 13 cyclists and 2 dinner guests. Not 10 pax hor.

Henry, thanks but no need to echo CM Dolly in HHH lah. She was just overly excited that this monthly cycling event did not have to die lor.

But having said that, I wish there would be more members willing to take up the lead on different routes (don’t worry, you don’t have to be committed to a monthly thing – it can be on ad-hoc basis).

One member actually suggested to me to cycle from ECP to Marina Barrage via dunno what duct…..? But the timing isn’t right for him. I am very keen as I have not been to the barrage. I know that the walkist group had been there but due to some other commitment, I was not able to join them. It would be exciting for those of us who would like to see the barrage on 2 wheels. Anyone willing to take the lead????

  23. Thank you all for your support, glad to see the monthly cycling alive and FUN! Last Saturday cycling event, we had a “seow” of a good time, laughing, joking & makaning. I wish to see you guys and gals again in our next monthly cycling.

    Cheer! :)

    Ah Nee

  24. Dear Lily & Ah Nee

Thanks for keeping cycling alive. Have not been cycling for a such a long time that after cycling for a short distance, I thought I was going to die hahaha! So drama.

Enjoyed all the jokes before cycling, the chats in-between cycling and the dinner chats. Had a jolly good time. Felt like the thighs have become firmer and leaner heeee! This is called imagination!

Thanks to the guys who made sure the ladies were fine.

    Cheers
    Carly
