SilverHairsClub Facebook – our link to the outside world

facebook

For some time, we have had a Facebook account.  Unfortunately, it just keeps accumulating members without too much effort and thought.  Facebook is open to the world and the public.  Not all are members.  Many are non-members are people out of somewhere.

I am looking at Facebook being open to the global audience, and any age can come into our Facebook and participate.

I would like to ask if there is anyone of you who has facebook experience, and who can revamp and administer the SilverHairsClub facebook.  It is important for the person to be able to handle negative and difficult situations.  While at the same time, has to speak up on behalf of the Club.  If you think you like this role, please let me know via email at terences@SilverHairsClub.com.

  1. Early this week, Christina alerted me to the SilverHairsClub Facebook. We have not paid any attention to it, and it has been accumulating members and non-members to our Facebook page.

It is rather disorganised, and I am not familiar with it. But it is nice to see so many members using it, and posting their photos of activities, sharing with other members and non-members.

If you can help us to clean up our Facebook, please let me know.

  2. Recently, there has been some issues raised regarding the SilverHairsClub Facebook. We do have a Facebook since Nov 2013. It is generally inactive, although it has many Facebook friends.

SHC members and their friends can be friends upon request through the facebook page. Once every 3-6 months, if I have time, friends are approved. From time to time, if a member fails to observe the club taboos, he/she is Unfriend.

Our facebook is like SilverHairsClub.com. and we open this forum to all members who have registered. Within SHC, there are different groupings eg cycling, walking, kopi chats, gardening, dancing, travel, makan makan, etc. The Club does not interfere in how the different groupings operate, as long as the rules are observed. In other words, the EO or the EC has full discretion and rights as to how he/she wants to manage the group. For example, in Gabriella’s case, she does not want her Coffee Chat members to take photographs or to publish photos in other social media platforms. This is her decision as the EC of the group, It’s also the EC’s choice as who she admits into her Kopi Chat group.

Honestly, Fairy Godmother is old and does not wish to interfere in issues of the different groupings. I hope members will leave her alone to enjoy her retirement.

SHC objective is very clear; and that is to provide a platform for SilverHairs to meet new and more friends.

  3. Our previous SilverhairsClub Facebook has been discontinued, and is no longer available. In its place, we are in the process of setting up SilverhairsClub Facebook group. This Post is now closed.
