  1. Over the coming years, I hope to encourage more members (Individual membership) to join as a Corporate member too. The process has been slow; but I see the interests growing.

I am hoping to create an environment whereby SilverHairsClub become a household name to Singapore companies who can subsequently use the experience talents and experience of SilverHairs. No long term vision is in place, but we can develop this over time.

I am glad to have May Woo take the step to be a Corporate member of SHC, and that we can see a few new initiatives in the future.

    Welcome May.

  2. Ahhhh…TRAINING! I had in mind of gathering SHC members who were/are in the training industry and offering their expertise and experience to corporate companies. I reckon now that May Woo’s company is providing such services, those of us who have worked as corporate Trainers can now have an opportunity to be part-time or ad hoc Trainers. I wonder if May is looking for more Trainers……..

  3. ServiceWorks is in the business of training and consultancy that works closely with Spring Singapore to help SMEs boost their business capabilities that comes with funding. ServiceWorks will be looking at recruiting Marketing Consultants, Mystery Shoppers, Focus Group Facilitators and Service Consultants. These positions are especially suitable for those who have training or consultancy background.

Those who are keen to join as Associates to work part-time or on adhoc basis may send their CV to hr@serviceworks.com.sg and indicate “May Woo” as the referral person.

  4. Hi Terence

Thank you for your prompt approval and warm welcome.

My sincere apologies for not responding earlier due to unforeseen circumstances.

Honestly, I didn’t realise that I have been a dormant member for so long and I am starting to feel embarrassed for being inactive. Sorry to have been a count in your silent members’statistic. Anyway, that is the past. I hope to see myself participating in more SHC activities whenever I could.

So, SHC members, here I come!

    Regards

I joined ServiceWorks as a full-time staff in January 2012 and I report to Jimmy Lim, a new member who joined SHC in March 2012.

  7. Hi May Woo May,

Great that you are also coming onboard as a Corporate Member of the Silver Hairs Club.

You looking to boost your services by recruiting Associates to work part-time or on adhoc basis; especially those who have training or consultancy background etc. I am quite sure that there are many potential candidates in SHC for you to draw upon.

As for myself, I am still searching for the ELUSIVE One-Man-Operation (OMO) or One-Man-Show (OMS) BRICKS & MORTAR (B&M) SHCian biz owners…..up to date, still no hands raised!

As an OMO/OMS B&Mr Biz Owner myself, I understand and faced the challenges of our micro-SME entity everyday. And was hoping that ALL Liked-Minded OMO/OMS B&M Biz Owners in SHC can band together to support each other.

Plus help each other to keep our biz afloat or better still, take it to the next level too.

Any SHCian OMO/OMS B&M Biz Owner out there keen to discuss this further?

If you are one and do not wished to “expose” yourselves at this forum, it’s OK! You can write to me privately at my yahoo email (il63873828hotmail.com) … and we will take it from there if sufficient numbers raised their hands.

p/s: Sorry May Woo! For borrowing your thread to post this.

    Cheers!
    Ivan Lim

  8. Hi May,

I guess some of us are excited about what your company is doing and what kind of activities and staff needs required by your company. Some examples would be great.

And, Ivan, in your Post, may I suggest you give some examples too of what you are looking for. I am sure you are good at speaking your mind. I am sure some members would be interested too.

  9. Hi Ivan #7

Thank you for your comments. Don’t worry about ‘borrowing’ this thread to write anything that benefits the reading of fellow SHC’ians. You are always welcome to drop your comments in any of our future posts.

Guess ServiceWorks could do something to help you find out ‘what your customers need?’ etc. As far as I understand, this could be done for SMEs under the Spring funding – Innovation & Capability Voucher scheme [ICV] wef June 2012. Unfortunately, SPRING Singapore has not rolled out the full set of Rules & Regulation (R & R) eg pre-requisites, criteria etc for qualifying the participants, mechanism of payment & application, processes etc.

We are still waiting, waiting and waiting.

SHC’s new member, Jimmy Lim (my superior) would be the best person to advise when we receive news from SPRING Singapore.

Just keep a look out for new updates from ServiceWorks.

    Regards
    may woo

We will definitely expand on the scope of work that we are handling in due course.

Meanwhile, let me find out more before we put up a post.

Thanking you for being so supportive.
