Badminton Group – 25 Oct 2012 (latest update)

Hi badminton kakis, Sorry to disappoint you but the badminton court bookings at Home Team ClubHouse has been "hijacked" by a private function..emoticon
However, we have booked the squash courts. There’s also swimming, bowling and a driving range available for a change. Since it is our regular Thursday morning get together in the west, please try to come and do our Thursday exercise in a different form. Lunch as usual after the games. We apologise for the unfortunate cancellation – so we will buy coffee for all who comesemoticon. Cheers and See you. Yoon Chin/Inez/Ron Teo

Am interested in keeping fit and travelling and would like to meet like minded people.

  1. Woke up late today. Is it yesterday morning squash or mj/dinner/mj that drain my energy.? Yoon Chin have been continiug booking for us badminton courts since Inez been busy. She make sure that every thursday all badminton khakis have a good exercise. Good example was yesterday. Despite unable to get the badminton court at HT she co-ordinated with Ron to arrange squash and bowling. Well the morning squash was the very first for me after more than 3 decades of storing my racket. Though only 8 of us, we sweat and enjoy the game. After which some of us would take our shower and meet all for lunch together. For those who is not present, i would like to share with you an interesting chat we have had. Most of us like the idea of adding another activity to our thursday badminton/lunch/bowling. Suggestion was why not we have a session of having both male and female bathing together.? Note: Only for badminton khakis. :) Shall we discuss this further next thursday.? We welcome new badminton khakis.

    Stay Healthy! Be Happy! :)

  2. Hi Johnny,

I woke up when you mentioned “why not we have a session of having both male and female bathing together?”. Sure or not this is a good idea?

I will attend most bedminton sesion unless I am working. So far it’s been throught the effort of Inez and Yoon Chin that we have kept it going. The workout, the fellowship and the get together at lunch time was wonderful. Sometimes we even adjourned further for bowling and card games.

Not all who attend live in the west as we have Bira, Frisna and BGek coming from as far as Pasir Ris. We cannot regard this as a Westerly gathering but happy that anyone whether from North or South are welcome to join.

After badmintion we also have mahjong games on some occasion. I certainly am very comfortable here and not having to book courts as I use to do.

Thank you Inez and Yoon Chin.

  3. Hi Johnny and Dan.
The idea of having sessions of bathing together is very refreshing, innovative and unique – can both of you elaborate a little more so that it can be the SHC’s newest/latest/hippy-est activity, and appointing both of you EOs for this event? I think it will garner support and momentum not just in the west, but also everyone who reads the post.. :)
    Cheers

  4. Hi All,

I think bathing together is an excellent way to raise bonding amongst the badminton khakis to the next level. The idea is actually not new – it’s time tested by the Japanese. They bathe together as a family to promote bonding and results speak for itself. So, we just emulate – no need to reinvent the wheel.

Anxiously looking forward to bathe together.

    Cheers
    Ron

  5. I am now in transit in Hong Kong, so nothing to do, except to receive a skype call from Inez. This bathing together suggestion makes a good weekend topic.

So, let’s get loose, and join in. In many places, I think the bathroom is the only location to take a bath. So, is the bath tub.

Hmm, getting hot with ideas, from a bunch of playful and fun SilverHairs.

  6. The Boss has spoken and sounds very encouraging..
    Thanks Terence!
i think it’s time to hear from the other event’s EOs and those who reads the latest posts but not contributed yet.
Those of you who has a large enough bathroom or know of locations that provides such facilities please help to make this newest activity a reality.. ;)

  7. Hello everyone,

How interesting to learn of our SHCians with very playful ideas.
Hey!All I know is, that Men and Women are already bathing together publicly everyday. Where? In Heartlands’ Swimming Pools.
Or am I missing out on the latest enjoyment by some SHCians?
    Hehehehe.

  8. Hi Geok Suan, please read the post promoting Games Day on Thursday – 1st November. Come and meet the regulars of the badminton game – who comes from as far as the eastern part of Singapore. If you can’t make it in the morning , join us for lunch around 12.30 or after lunch for other activities such as mahjong, bowling or card games.
The “bathing” activity will be discussed again, and maybe a date/time/location/participants list may be drawn up.
You may not want to miss it?? ;)

  9. Hi Inez, and badminton players,

There were a number of nice action shots at the last badminton game. I thought the group photo was great, but it did not fit the banner space; so I did some cut and paste. At least, I hope to put all the faces in.

I hope more members will be encouraged to join the badminton activities. Have a lot of fun.
    Do refresh your browser.
