A new role “SHC VJ”

Music makes the world go round.  This is definitely true, judging from the music and songs that are played on this website and during our varied events.  I have played the role of the Video Jockey.  In this role, I pick songs from the 60s and 70s, and play them on the top left hand corner of the Club’s website.  These music clips can also be from any era, and any language.  Sometimes, the video can be inline with current activities and members’ requests.

It’s about time, we get rid of the current VJ; and offer this role to an existing member.  Some pre-requisites would include:

1.  Familiar with songs from the 60 and 70s, in our common languages and dialects.

2.  You are a believer that "Music makes the world go round".

3.  Familiar with the SHC culture, and loves helping fellow members get to know new and more friends.

4.  Able to spend 30 mins a week, to select videos and upload this video to our web server.

5.  This role is not difficult; although the person should love working on the computer and internet.

6.  Can be of any sex and and age.

7.  Term: 1 year.  Candidates are required to ensure confidentiality on all membership database.  Those who cannot maintain strict confidence with email information need not apply.

    I note your interest in being the SHC VJ. From your video clip, I do see you have an impressive music background. I would hope you are able to organise an event, especially a music event, for SHC. In this role, I am looking for someone who has a longer understanding of the SHC culture and its members.     Since I am going to be out of job as CM (hahaha), so, I will raise my hand to be SHC VJ as I think that I shd be able 2 fulfil the 7 pointers listed in your post lor.. Cheers.. Dolly

    Thank you for raising your hand to be the SHC VJ. The role starts 1 Jan 2012 and will end end Dec 2012.

    As you are familiar with many members, and have held the Club Manager’s position for a few years, I hope you will make the club even more colorful with music.

    At any time, members may make special request to VJ Dolly Lim. It may be a birthday, an anniversary or even a thank you. Music clips, songs can be in any language, theme or era. The discretion will rest with the VJ.

    Xmas is around the corner and since Dec is the last mth of role as VJ, I will be playing lots of Xmas carols till end Dec and hope all of you will like them…

    Thank you Dolly for serving the full term of one year as SHC VJ. I am sure you have made a number of members remember the good days and helped to integrate the members together each season.

    We will close this VJ corner in 2013, effective 1 Jan 2013. I am sure by now members are familiar with YouTube, and can dedicate songs to other members via its URL links.
