Would you like to be a SHC Online meeting moderator?

Some of us may be familiar with webchats.  SilverHairsClub has its own "SHC Online", and it’s strictly for members only.  From the October usage trend, members logged in between 9am and 10 am, & between 12.30pm and 1.30pm.

Before starting the SHC online, we would like two to three members, preferably those who have retired, to serve as meeting moderators.  Some training is required though.  If you have time, and would like to learn how to be a meeting moderator in an online forum, please let me know.  For an idea of what is needed.

Ideally, you need to love meeting and corresponding with other SilverHairs in realtime.  Able to smile and have fun online.  Can take all kinds of nonsense, without having to drink cold water.  Some patience.  Preferably, typing skills of 5 words a minute,  some basic knowledge of powerpoint (although not necessary), and some fiddling with the PC.  If you are smart, one lesson.  If you are fast, two lessons.  And, if you are keen, three lessons.  Read what is needed; and if you are interested to be an online meeting moderator, we can start, even without getting to meet one another.  Something adverturous.  Yeah.

    Seriously, I wd hv raised my hands and hairs in unison if I am a retiree to hv the time.

    I can see that the role is fun, not a chore and, in the process of becoming the moderator, get to learn a few things on the computer.

    From the several postings you had put up, I have no doubt that you’ll do a very good job, will do SHC proud and will, in yr first season, place SHC on the world map of famous silverhair clubs.

    This is the website I use to locate all the Korean movie stars. I love to watch Korean DVD’s. Don’t think you have the time.

    I think you are doing a great job holding so many postions at SHC.

    Which website r U refering 2? I hv time 2 watch movies but series ones like Heroes Season 2. Just finish watching episodes 1 to 3 wif 4 to 7 plus Nightmares n Dreamscapes in e nx few nites. Finished e CSI Miami Season 5 last wk wif CSI NY Season 2 up 2 disc 3.

    Am talking about the wikipedia website. That is where I get all info on the Korean actors/actresses and Korean dramas. However, have to control my viewing hours otherwise get nothing done.

    I am not so clever as you lah? How to multi-task and watch Korean movies at the same time. Have to pay attention to pick up Mandarin, you know. Some of which I don’t even understand.

    Now I know why you can do so many things for SHC – Multi tasking like you say.

    Aiya, U dun hv 2 be clever 2 multi task. Just make gd use of wat we hv. Picking up Mandarin is ez thru one best way – watch e Ah Q cartoon. Fun n ez 2 learn.

    I din do many things 4 SHC n coincidentally if I do, I m just helping oth members.

    I thought I was doing quite well putting faces to SHCians with names starting with ‘R’ and now we have another new member. This is really mind boggling.

    Remember at Villa Bali, you said you were going to e-mail me to get my lap top to ‘wireless’ mode. Guess you will need to take gingko supplements. But, not to worry. Will get my computer guy to do it for me. Thanks for the offer anyway. Will excuse you this time ‘cos you have too many jobs on your mind.

    My apology. Usually e latest wifi models r “wireless enabled” oredi. Assume urs is an older model tis r e manual steps 2 be done –
    >rite click “my computer” >click “manage” >double click “services n applications” >double click “services” >scroll down e list n look 4 “wireless zero configuration” n rite click >click “properties” n change “startup type” 2 [automatic] >click “apply” n “ok”.

  23. On this Sunday, I have been rather free, don’t know what to do. So, on a cool Sunday afternoon, I went down to Fisherman’s cove in Chennai to visit a fishing village, had some bryanni chicken lunch and two bottles of Kingfisher beer. Now back resting, and figuring out what to do.

    Well, I thought I shall open the webchat, and if you are free, we can spend some time with you until midnight Spore time. Line is open now.

    I tried to logon to above and waited for more than 15 mins….. don’t seem to be able to load… Is the chat thingy over ?

  28. Although last minute notice, Ron Oz, Ronald Wi and Jane Wong dropped into the webchat. We finished at 1130pm.

    I guess the reason why a number of you got stucked after the password stage, is you need to click to load Active-X. This is found below the URL address line.
