  1. Hi June
Have put in Yew Kwong and Veronique. Shall help you in this area. A little too early for me to register but if nothing crops up, will certainly support your event.

  2. Hi June,

I like to congratulate you for putting up this Saturday Nite Fever. In fact, when you first talked about it, I had entered the date into my diary. So, I am coming.

You mention about using some hair gel, so I guess I have to keep my hair longer now. I will contribute a bottle of Kahlua and a bottle of Black Label.

  13. Hi LydiaChin…no DJ spinning songs at Oxford…and frankly I m not too sure how’s this gonna b done…never done such thing in my life before..:-))) Once I hve my min pax to confirm the event, I hve to get Oxford to teach me to use their sound system.

Yes, this is an event just for SHC members….esp those who love to dance…feel the music and just dance…no need to hve someone invite u to the dance floor…Aiyoh, whn I was a teenager, at parties I had to be invited by a guy to go down to the dancefloor, otherwise sit there “sor sor teh”:-)))). Now I just dance, with or without partner….Being “matured” has its pros too :-)))

Good…steady poon pi pi is coming and I just hope dear Lily does not come on line to say..sorry she can’t…:-))

Min no. of pax for this event to go through is 40 pls.

  37. Hi JuneL,

What do you advise men to wear? I have a pair of blues. Am thinking of getting a pair of pointed boots. Long hair, but now thinking of looking for a long hair wig. T-shirt, black? guess I can find one. Now, a silver necklace. That’s tough. But, will look for it somewhere in Bangkok. Ring on the 4th index finger. Gosh, how many days more.

    Guys, think about it.

    Terence Seah

  38. Hi June:

Kindly count us in this event – XiangXiang, Annie Seah,Jimmy Fong, James Chan & Myself(Helen Tan).

    Pls advise on the payment.

    TQ.

  39. Aiyo, Terence,
Silver necklace – hv la.. try MBK Bangkok 4th flr, I saw these the last trip there lor..

Wow EO June, judging frm the registration, oli 8 more 2 go 2 hit d target, the event sure on 1 la.. BTW, how many paxs r u actually at 2 close registration har? Dun 2b too packed hor.. if not, cant dance liao.. ok…

  40. Last year’s talentime at Oxford dreww a crowd of 80+-.
Hope this helps you to decide on your max no.
On this note, I decide to sign up before it is too late. Calling all the Susans.. Chan, Chang & Tan. Join in leh!

  41. Hi Cat Yeo & Oi Cheng,

Heard your calling….will join you bubbly folks too!

June, could you please include my name as well as Bernard Chan, who’s also a SHC member.

    Thank you!

  42. Hi June at #55,

I heard you, thanks for ur comment. I would love to join but I hv already signed up for DnD at OCC on the same nite.

By reading thru all the above posts, I can tell that you are a very efficient EO and with the supports from the fun and energetic SCHians, this SatNite Fever party is definitely going to be a successful one.

    Jane

  43. Hi June,

It’s been said that it not easy to dance in jeans, but we have to try it out! Tonight will be my last lesson on Waltz, we got a last waltz to catch up with!

To those wanting to dance, we got two months to learn. Come and join us for the new class on Social cha Cha, latin Samba and well, well Waltz and Rhythm!

    Danz

  44. oh dear me…we hit the target!!! Yes, the fever is on. I am feeling the heat already…Hope my committee and I do a good job that nite…:-))..so much so that u leave Oxford that nite grinning cheek to cheek…:-))
I hit the target but I got greedy. Some of whom I hve gone a calling, hve yet to reply. We stop at the big five zero ok!…Think that would be a good size. Assuming at any one time, there will be 10 therabt having a smoke outside Oxford and pissing in the loo..:-))) so that leaves 40 on the dance floor.

    So FINAL…Max 50 pax.

  45. Hi Jane,
Wow you going to OCC August ball. This is a grand ocassion.
I was contemplating but find it too formal lor. Guess there will be a lot of ballroom dancing too.

Did you book a table for $550 or paying members rate
$38. Their buffet spread usually very good.
Ron Lai & Alice going with the SGCC ppl.

Ron Lai wanted to organize but finds it too troublesome due to the difference in pricing.

  46. Hi Dolly #72,

I was lucky playing sexitary today, cos whoever I smsed, the reply was in the affirmative. Thought that I could help June meet her 50 pax earlier. Ha ha. I have more or less recovered from my flu. Thank you.

Aaron #73, you are most welcome. My JB trip was good cos school has re-opened so it was smooth sailing. Bought durians. Want some?

  47. Since we hve hit the target no., next would be to appoint a small committee….so that they do all the shit and I can “keow kar”…:-)))).
I hve people in mind, so will go after them via emails.

U all who are coming, your role is to enjoy yourselves that nite even if the food sucks, the music sucks, the prog sucks…:-))))

    jAmBalaYa!!!!

  48. In the train on the way home earlier, I remembered a nut…Gingko.. and my colleague, Anne Toh….oh dear ..is there a way to expand the Oxford cafe so that we can take in more than 50?..Anyone knows magic?

  49. My suggestion is if your target is 50, you should still allow whoever is interested to register and put them on waiting list.

It is common that at the last minute, some members may have to back out because of personal reason so those on waiting list can move up to take over the place.

    Just my two cents worth..

  50. Now that we have reached the targeted registration, suggest that we closed the registration list and start a reserved list based on first come first served. But if attendance is stretched beyond the target, den it would reli defeat the theme of this event lor..

To me, right now, is payment. How to pay and closing date to pay. Those in registered list failed to pay by the given time, will automically treated as cancel lor.. n place will be given to those on the reserved list lor.

  51. Hi JuneL

Your dream come true in having 2nd DnD for the year 2008, and set the pace for the years to come to have at least two DnDs per year. Alice and I would very much like to join all of you in this event, but due to prior booking of Orchid Country Club’s annual August Ball on the same day (30th Aug), and at the invitation of the Serangoon Garden Country Club members to participate in the event, regretfully, will have to miss your DnD, the very venue in Oxford that we had our last Talent Time and Dance party, attended by more than a 100 SHCians.

MollyC #75 what you mentioned about OCC’s buffet spread of food was absolutely correct, they even had supper for the night to go with it, so that the late dancers would not go hungry, when the clock “strike twelve”. The location of the OCC venue is a problem, being at the northern point in Yishun, to organise dance party there will have to think of transportation, that will put off participants in all expects, and the price differences, another point, but overall the party is fantastic, being able to dance in the grand ballroom with marble flooring, the biggest ballroom in Singapore.

Count the days to the “sAtuRdaY NiTe fEvEr” to all participants, enjoy yourselves, this time Alice and I will have to miss the “John Travolta”.

If Terence #57 coming with all the “gears”, and with other guys as well, JuneL will most likely have to hold a “John Travolta” contest…….HAPPY DANCING.

    Ron n Alice Lai

  52. Hey June,

NUTS! Do I have to take queue No. 1 from the bottom up now?

Last weekend, a couple of members asked if I would attend the sAtuRdaY NiTe fEvEr (gosh! upper cap, lower cap, like quicksand), my immediate answer was “SURE, must support June”, without realizing registration had begun… and tutup! So much for fervently feverish about fever night fervor…

All the same, it was really sweet of you to remember the smaller nut, hee. I am very happy for you that you hit the target within three short days. Congratulations!

Ref #82, I like your style… loud & bold. Yep, once in a while, it’s good to let others do the s*#! work while you lay back and shake leg(s). Ooops! better sprint, before your Committee comes after me with silver chains, pointed boots, gel jars….

Meantime, I shall sit by the side-line… wait, watch and drool.

Well, HAVE FUN all the lucky 50 of you!

  53. Hi June

Congrats for such an overwhelming response on your 1st ever Sat. nite fever. Looks like selling hot cakes with the nbr climbing so fast within a day…. no wonder AnneTo missed the boat..he.he..Dont worry Anne, you can be on the waiting list meh… first come first serve, in case someone cancel, you can sail again.

Thanks Lina for helping me to register. Nor #23 & Dolly #25, I heard you both. Thanks Dolly, am feeling better today.

  54. Hi,

Yesterday, the application was not closed but due to have to log in my ID and password and also went in almost knocking off from office time, tot of registering the next day. To my surprise, CLOSED.

I miss this chance to b in the Saturday Saturday night fever. No choice, then put me in the reserved list.

  55. RonLai…if you came, u would be THE John Travolta..u just need to turn up your collar..and I m not joking.

Yes it is my dream to dance the nite away with fellow club members…same age group lah..and people we know too lah (albeit some well, some not too well)…instead of jostle with young ones and strangers at St James etc etc :-))).

However being EO, the dream can be nightmarish…:-))). But I think,… no, no, cannot say think..I m quite certain things will turn out fine with Dolly’s support. :-))))

  56. I really really want Gingko and AnneTo to be in!!!..How like that?

On the train to work this morning was thinking abt this event, then mind drifted to chicken dance (which I missed bec I didn’t attend the Talentime) and then remembered Robert and Kristy Quek!!!…How now like that?

Also at D & D nite, a petite lady came with Robert and Kristy…I can’t remember her name (tui pu chi)…she very sweet person…would like her to come too? wonder if her name’s up there?

  57. Yes..Oi Cheng and Dolly…agree with you (but heart so heavy)..we close at 50 and put rest on reserve.

The payment!!!..$$$$..someone’s face keeps appearing whn I think of $$$$…:-)))
Dear Yew Kwong, would u be kind enough to do this for me pls?

  58. Sorry to hear that Susan Tan..(we hven’t met right?)..I myself am amazed by the response….there will always be another time ie if this one turns out well. So I will pray hard..(solee, cannot use that word)..I will hope hard that the event will turn out well…:-)))..c u around.

  59. Hi June

I hear U. Glad 2 b ur $ keeper. Gv me the date. Mode of pyt : thru ATM or by IB. No chq n cash pls. TQ.

Wld definitely b successful. No nid 2 pray. No crossed fingers oso. Prior argmt hd been made oredi.

  60. Thnks a zillion YewKwong.
    The mode u decide pls.
Payment is $17 per pax, to be paid by 15 Jul 12 pm..:-))

Btw, at a later date, will ka cheo u for advice on IT matters for the BIG nite:-))

  61. Hi June, what to do? Yes, one of these days I will Q-up overnight stay to be the first to register, haha. Blame on the system or on the rain or sky that I missed the big boat. Make sure after the ‘BIG BANG’ pls post pics.

Terence – why is it nowadays I have to log in the ID & pw when I tick REMEMBER ME?

  62. Hi Susan, din noe June’s Fever was so HOT!!! Lucky u, Lina take care of yr reg. Think I’ll Q on wait list lor.

Susan (Chan), thks for the prompt but it’s not gd enuf; next tx action hor.

  63. helo EO JuneL..
Although im too late…i still wanna congratulate on yr NiteFever event!..wow!so fast very laku oredi!..like hot goreng pisang!..nite fever!nite fever!..oh yeah!..hehe
wei wei!…apa macam calling yr committee do all the s*#! work!..thot u did it yourselves??…haha

  64. Nor, for a moment I went huhh…whn u said :”Although im too late..”..Quickly went to the list and I see yor name under no. 14…?@#*?…U late for what?

  65. Hi Annto,

    Referring to comment #100,

Well, I’d prompted you to join in the fun at this Nite Fever, unaware that registration is already full.

How about if I asked Bernard Chan to withdraw and you replace him?

  66. Hi Susan,
Aiyo, even if BChan is to withdraw, the next ppl on the resv list get priority la, if not, sure got complaint, spare June d agony lah.. Play by time n who noes AnnTo can join us lor as at tx, there will be sum withdrawal sumwhere along d line lor..

  67. JuneL/Dolly

Aiyah, only 3 person on the waiting list so far, wont occupy much dancing space, just include them in, make it
a happy ending. Should anyone back out on the way, no replacement unless figure dwindle to below 50.

Of course EO has the final say….

    Cheers
    Ann Lim

  68. Hi Ann,
As much as the EO want everyone to come but like u said now only 3paxs, no problem la, what abt along d line, abt 3 – 5 more paxs den how, give in again har.. like dat, we may ended like last talentime, no siting space and so squeezy. But I supp Talentime is OK but this is SNF whereby u will definitely expect certain space cater for dancing members to enjoy rite.. Anyway.. let EO c how it goes later lor.. ok..

  69. oh yes, we love to hve all come to the party. But Oxford cafe is really small and each of us need at least, min 1′ x 1′ square of the floor to dance. If too squashed, u won’t enjoy at all. So I really really hope Dan comes in his tight tight jeans as that will hamper his dance steps and therefore not take up too much space…:-)))…(sorlee Dan :-)))

Now we get the registered 50 to pay up.
Hope to see full payment in 3 days time..:-))

Knock Knock ..Payment Manager…where are u?
Let’s wait for him to put up the payment details.

  70. Hi Susan @ 103,

Aiyo, you trading Bernard for me….sorry..I mean Bernard’s place. He is gg to hate me for that..(just joking). Anyhow, thks much 4 yr offer.

Too much attention showered causes uneasiness. Let the rain falls where it wants to, wind blows where it will. We should just let things takes its own course.

  71. Dolly @ 111,

Cute, si mi “yin shi”? Not in that calibre.

My PC was playing Smoke Rings in the Dark; and I literally lifted the sentence from its lyrics. Hehe if u like such stuff…I’ll quote u more; or copy u e song?

  72. Ron@87 Understand it is a 8-course sit down dinner with free flow of beer followed by light supper. There will be 60 tables all in all. OCC has got shuttle bus running,
pickup point from Yishun MRT stn. Therefore transportation is not a problem only going home may be an issue cos the party ends at 1am.
Lucy did asked me but have not confirmed with her yet. If there are SHCians interested to join you, form a table and I can make e-reservation.

  73. Hello Jane,
You wear anything also siu2 chantek2. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.
It is good you have found your old danzing kakis and now enjoying yourself. Have fun at the ball.

Sorry EO got to borrow your post cos I cun find the post that Jane wrote to me.

  74. 5 hve paid up….thank u.
    Another 44 members to go.
Another 20 days to make your payment.

Nee say…”ibanking is simple, click here & there and payment’s done”. But if you don’t do ibanking like myself, pls look for the DBS/POSB ATM and do the transfer..just press here, press there and u are done too. :-))

It’s to YewKwong’s POSB current account…not his savings account. Careless me kept wanting to transfer to his savings account and the payment kept failing!!!

  75. Hi June

    Cheers, Lydia.

  80. Hi Yew Kwong

I have just transferred $34/- to your account for Dan and I using internet banking. Sorry I was a bit distracted when I was at it and did not take note of the transaction number. Hopefully I didn’t transfer 34 cents.

    Joy

    11 days to payment deadline.
    57 days to SNF.

  83. Hi YK,

I shall make payment next week. Should have done so earlier.

Got a problem. You know POSB/DBS has this security device, but it seems the little thing has run out of batteries. I was thinking of opening it to put in a battery, anyone knows how to do so? If not, I have to get back to POSB/DBS to see if they can fix this. Thought this thing lasts a lifetime.

    Terence Seah

  84. Hi Margaret Tian

Was abt 2 report 2 police tat someone pd but did not own up. Tis early morn I found $17 unaccounted 4 aft tallying e total collection.

At least u can sleep well 2nite w/o e police knocking at ur doors. TQ.

  85. Hi All

Just sth amusing 2 share. While tallying e total collection tis morn, I noticed my name (or nick) appeared besides e amounts. Guessed they must be results of 1st timers or those who dun do IB so often. However, m glad cos it showed they hd tried.

Btw, they shd b your names (or nick) not mine so tat I know who is paying. TQ.

  86. Hi Terence

Oh man! I didn’t know that thing runs on batteries. Looks like I will have this same problem at some time.

I think Standard Chartered’s notification to the handphone is better. Maybe DBS has this option too.

    Joy

  87. Yew Kwong

Transferred $34.00 to your account on 5 July @ 21.27 ref 4316 for Gwyneth Lee and Helen Wong.

    Thanks & Regards
    Helen

  88. Hi Terence,

The DBS IB Secure Device has a battery life of 5 years. Do not open the device to replace the battery as it will cause it to malfunction. Instead, the whole device has to be replaced by calling 1800-111 1111. Happy replacing!

  89. Hi Lina

Ur presumption of 5-yr life is bit out. 5 yrs start fr e dy 1 e battery is manufactured. By e time it rch its destination, b a factory or shop, its life span is definitely <5 yrs. Most times e life is long unless defaulty.

    Hi Terence

Much depends how u store ur device. Dun put it nr plc where e sun shines in or warm. Always store it in plc of normal rm temperature. If u nid 2 carry it wif u 2 plc where weather condition is cold, u nid 2 wrap it wif a towel.

  90. Hi June

  92. Hi Yew Kwong #150,

Thanks for the info. I keep my IB secure device in a drawer well away from the sun. I think it has got a long life too!

  96. Hi Yew Kwong,

Just transferred S$34.00 for myself & Bernard Chan via UOB internet banking under transaction ref: 100001027784039

Trust you are aware of 2 working days of transaction between two different banks.

    Thanks!

  97. Hi Susan Chan

Sounds rather strange of “2 wkg dys”. Its used 2 b 4 the last time I heard. Guess MAS had beaten up the banks 2 beef up their systems. So efficient now. Ok I will sit by the bank 4 the nx 48 hrs 2 receive ur monies. TQ.

  98. Aiyo poor Yew Kwong..no need to wait so many hours for our monies…payment by ATM for a Mr ThomasLoh & myself just made to your current a/c 796-03473-4,sori so late!

Missy Dolly..pls note, ive done my job as per yr instructions yesterday for him ok:)

    EO June…with my payment…that will keep u awake.hehe

  99. Hi Dolly #162, YK #158,

Sorry, there are only 5 bosses at the moment, not 6 as I mentioned. Now, I cannot even count!

They are all too busy to even get to the ATM, and where internet transfer is concerned they have not gone to YK’s IT course. So, like RobertQ said, I can only be an angel and do it all for them. So, please be patient with SusanC, JulietO, JohnH, CharlesW, AaronH and my payment. Will definitely get payment into YK’s bank by 11.55am on 15/7, cos I don’t want his fun to begin and mine to end! Ha ha

  100. Hi Yew Kwong,

Ref 1859 for my payment via ATM. TQ.

June – appreciate your cue….and thanks for always trying to look out for me :))))

    Hi Anne Lim @ 159,
Aiyoh, you being sarcastic or just poking fun at my inadequacy in the Hokkien dialect? Ha ha, but I can differentiate “ang” from “or” hor. Thanks, yr advice taken liao.

  101. AnneT, I am a sentimental person…:-)
…so pls play a sentimental song for my sentimental friend over there….oops humming another song again..:-))

  102. Hi Yew Kwong & June.

I’ve transfered $17 to Yew Kwong’s POSB current A/c No 796-03473-4 on 11/7/2008 @ 18:21 Ref 5314. So kindly indicate PAID next to my name. I know there’re some people on waitlist hoping to get my slot. Richard Ee & Mega are both very keen to be on the confirm list. I met both guys at RTC last night. We should organise more dancing & singing events. There’re lots of talented musicians, singers & dancers with SHC, waiting to showcase their talents! Hee..hee..

Thanks for doing such a fine job. Keep it up!

    CHeers, Lydia.

    Thx & hv fun,
    Suzhang

  108. Caroline, pls take care but THE nite is another one and half months away!!. This Friday will be my first meeting with my committee members..ahemm..to think hard how to add more fun to THE nite. And was thinking of suggesting having Caroline sing a fast no. for us…Donna Sommer’s Let’s Dance. So it is not meant to be? But THE nite is one half months away..u should be fit and fine by then?

Anyone wants to guess who the committee memebers are? 5 exclude me the EO..:-)) Prize…free ticket that nite.

The fever is definitely on….Yeah! Prog will be out end of this month. Wonder if someone is really keeping his hair long for that nite…:-)))))

    Let’s dance the nite away!!!

  109. Yeah June, you very correct, you must get Caroline to sing on that SNF. Just love to hear her strong vocal……Carly, you should be fit by then. How about we dance and Carly sings “Love potion no. 9” pls.

    Ah Nee

  110. Hey Nee, u know something, Love Potion No. 9 is in my song list…did u peep at the list?…:-))) Anyway not kidding….it is really in. Lots of disco, and I threw in a waltz, a rhumba etc for those who are attending classes so that they can show us what they hve learned…definitely loooking out for Joy and Dan doing the Waltz.

Folks going to THE nite…keep up your exercises so that u can dance the nite away…She Bangs, she bangs..OOOooooooh!

  111. Thanks Dolly for helping me de-register.

    June & Ah Nee

Sorry to disappoint. Maybe another occasion. Has been unwell and tired. Taking a break from all activities. Will come back after I am re-charged.

All the best for your SNF and enjoy :D

    Warmest Regards
    Caroline

  112. Hi Yew Kong

I have on 16/7/08 transferred $17 to your POSB current account No. 796-03473-4. The ref. no. is 1393.

    Much obliged

    Mega

  113. Hi June,

I was on the 2nd of the waiting list and understand from Dolly Lim last nite at the SHC gathering that she has included my name but due to I was away in Cambodia and has no access to internet and did not make payment, my name has been removed. She told me that I can still go and make payment. Pls confirm whether am I still allow to be included so that I can xfer the fund of $17.

Your reply is greatly appreciated soonest possible.

  114. Hi June,

I have seen Susan Tan’s comments and feel sorry for her. My solution is I can give up my seat to her as my intention is to put my hubby’s name in(who is yet to register as a member)but that will make an extra 1 person.

What will be the best solution? Can we hear our organiser June’s reply to this pls:)

    Thank you.

  115. Hi Anna Seet

I onli came 2 know tat u hd paid tis evening wen u called me on my mobile. Prior 2 tat I was awared tat there was one collection accounted 4.

I will now replc ur name ovr mine.

  116. Thanks Anne.

I am still waiting for the organiser to get back to me as to whether there is a place for me. I missed the boat when registering and now that I have been given another chance I have again missed the boat. What to do?

Pls get back to me as soon as possible?

  117. Sorry, I just got to read SusanTan and Anne Chee’s comments….(did not go into forum since Wed…sorry)…Yes, Dolly’s my spokesman…Yes of course u are in Susan Tan..U hve genuine reason.

Anne Chee…so sweet of you to offer give up your seat….No No u are in pls.

And how come YewKwong’s name is out?…he also my committee member?? He must be in pls.

Sorry…this comment is done in haste as got lots of work to catch up on as I was on leave yesterday…talk later whn I go thro the posts properly…:-))

  118. Yalor, YK, u dun nid 2b out la.. we still hv plc b4 hitting 50paxs mah..

So Susan, now dat u r in, pls pay asap hor, bo hor, miss again hor..

4 those in d list, hurry 2 pay asap leh…

  119. Hi Anne Chee…do u want your hubby to come dance the nite away too? SHC is a fun club. As long as u see the fun in Sat nite fever and would like come join in with your hubby, u are most welcome. Above says payment by today midnite. But for you, I give u a couple of days longer. Speak to your hubby abt the membership. If your guy is game on being a SHC member and dancing the nite away on 30 Aug..then pls pay up by Sunday. Meanwhile get the membership registration going. Registration for SHC membership is QED.

As at now, 46 has paid up…THE nite is definitely on.

  120. Btw for those who hven’t been to Oxford Cafe….it is a small cosy place. When dancing that nite, it would be like as if at Zouk, but of course a much smaller Zouk and without fancy “smoke puffs”..whatever u call it to make the place look smoky.
So no big ballroom where u can swish and twirl around..:-)) therefore the tight denim jeans for that nite….:-)). Music will mostly be hot hot hot with a bit of rock and roll. Of course I had to throw in a couple of social dance music so that the social dance diehards can strut their stuff…:-)))

  121. Hi June, thanks for giving me a chance to be in the party. Will pay by tonite.

Hi Anne Chee, are you the lady who spoke to me last nite in Jeffrey’s Latin Samba Thu class. Really have to thank you.

Alright mann…. hi SHCians, I am in already. We will and shall have fun dancing.

  122. Hi June

Lin Chuah is at the dancing class now and she asked me to put her name on the waiting list.
(After the 2nd payment on 18/July/09)

    Karen Thio

  123. Hi June / Yew Kwong.

Richard Yee has given me $17 to be paid into Yew Kwong’s POSB account. But i was very busy today, and i just saw that your deadline is tonight midnight. Can you pls extend it to 21st July. I will do the transfer on Monday, 21st July. Meanwhile, i will Bill Cheong to pay up too. Pls do not kick these 2 guys off the list. They want to go and have been on waitlist for a long time. U see, both guys got problems accessing their computers, and as for me, i only get the access this website from my home computer.

    Hope you understand.

    Regards, Lydia.

  124. Hi Yew Kwong,

  127. Hi Yew Kwong,

Don’t leave out even thought. Have spoken to Danz to pay on my behalf and he confirmed thru SMS that he has spoken to you and you said OK! Btw, I will be seeing him tonite to pass him the $17.

  128. Hi Yew Kong, thank you!

During the recent SHC gathering at Kovan, are you there?

Hope you will invite me to dance on this nite? Hope to see u soon.

  129. Good morning Kwong, ops! sorry to spell your name wrongly. I met up Dan last nite and already passed him the money.

Pls ensure my name is being updated in the list. Thank you!

  130. Hi Alfred…tui pu chi tui out chi..I just saw your request…your request goes to my “official” email address (the one at the workplace) and I was out of office and returned today and saw your email…:-))..I very longwinded ah…:-))) U just wanted to know if u are too late or not too late..:-))).

U are really late. But then, only 1 more…so why not! Yes, u are in. Welcome! Let’s boogie come 30 Aug!!

  131. Hi June,

Yes, I see and hear you loud and clear! You are most welcome. Due to the overwhelming titles written by members, that SHC Monthly write-up has moved to Page 11 as of today. Had difficulty finding it? C u around.

  132. Hi JuneL n LinaN

Not only it hd moved 2 pg 11 but oso moved 2 another thread, SNF. I tink both of u will b spending 30 Aug 08 talking abt tis subject rather.

  133. hehe..no need to wait till 30 Aug…let me go on abt the monthly rideups…oops I mean writeups..:-)) ..so far hve enjoyed all those done by the ladies..:-)) sorry guys, pls don’t “o mak kak” me ok..most times I speak my mind..:-))…am waiting to read Joy’s..:-)))

  134. Hi June,

Was wondering whether you can still accept 1 more. My friend, Ivy Low S L just joined SHC. She is a dancing queen. Would very much like her to attend this event. Appreciate your response.

Hi Terence, have you ammend in the system? Appreciate your help.

  135. No more dancing queens as there can only be 1 dancing queen …ME!!!..Kidding!!..:-)))
I am on relaxed mode today as it is FRIDAY!!! very good mood, very happy mood.
    So why not.
    Your friend is in.
And if she is sincere in joining us, wold appreciate it if you get her to pay up before the week’s up..Thanks.

    Calling Calling Alfred Ang….
The word…soon…in my Little Oxford dicky says:
after no long interval; relatively early; readily;willingly.
On 29 Jul, u said u will make payment soon.
2 days hve passed…2 days to me is a long interval and relatively late…:-))))
U must be busy. Pls make payment before the week’s up..Thank u very much.

  136. Hi June,

Thank you for the fast response & also very glad that I got you at the right time when you are in a very good mood. Trigger me if u are not in good mood….haha.

Can I pay you when I meet you on that day becos the last time, I got Danz to pay on my behalf. If no, then I have to find my means.

Hope you can, I will not run away from u la.

  137. Hi June,
Sorry eventhough u r d EO and had the final say but, I think we cant set this kind of precedence to Susan’s fren as I got numerous complaints from some of SHC members during my dancing class tonite. Susan, whether anot she is dancing queen is immaterial and got nothing to do with SNF la.. Pls bear in mind, we are not organising Social Dance Nite la..

Susan, u r in the registered list again cos u told us a valid reason, i.e. away on business trip hence no access to internet, hence missed this dateline, rite…

We allowed Alfred to be in cos we have 1 registered member cant make it dat nite hence it is 1 to 1 replacement.

Just my 2cts worth… If u decide Susan’s fren have to be included, I would greatly give up my plc to her as I m rite now on a working trip to China and my rtn date is yet to be confirmed.

    Best regards,
    Dolly

  138. Hello Dolly…I hve overstepped my boundary. I hve a committee. I should hve discussed with the com if I should take in Susan’s fren b4 “tua chu tua yi” giving the go ahead….:-))) sorry lah. Thot it is only 1 more wanting to hve fun, so why not. Was telling myself that Susan’s fren wld be the last person that I wld take in…no bluff.

Dear Dolly…pls do not give up your place.

I volunteered as EO only bec I had the assurance frm a couple of members that they would be present for the event. Dolly was one of them. She is the FUNny girl. I wanted people to hve fun on SNF. And if Dolly is present, they will definitely get it.

So pls Dolly, u hve to be present. Otherwise, I hve to apologise to 50 odd people.

When reading abt…. “the numerous complaints.”..mmmm..I was kind of surprised that there are people out there who are not happy with me taking in a couple more…..

I wold like to share this with you folks out there….
Someone told me that my SNF event is a success whn I hit my 50 pax. But I told him that I can only say if it is successful only AFTER the event, ie 11 pm plus on 30 Aug. If I see smiling faces at the end of the event, then it is definitely a success and it will bring great joy to me.
When I hit the 50 pax, I did not feel great and rest on my laurels. In fact, I had several sleepless nites…thinking and dreaming abt how and what should be done that nite to bring laughter and joy to those who had signed up.
I turned into a 7 legged kangcheong spider..:-))))
With support frm my committee members, another leg has sprouted out, so back to normal spider.
Btw my committee members are: OiCheng, RonaldLee, Lily, Dolly and YewKwong.
So u see, being EO has some unFUN moments, whn planning a fun filled event…..u get what I mean?
And it is kinda sad to hear complaints.
So folks out there, pls pardon my “unacceptable” actions.
Let’s look forward to having fun on sAtuRdaY NiTe, 30 Aug….OK!!!!

  139. Hi Lily..think our comments went out same time. I hope Dolly accepts my clarification.
Btw my principle is safely with me…just that in this instance, I got carried away and did not realise that I will be setting a precedent which may cause headaches for other EOs….for this I sincerely apologise.

  140. Dear June

I’m not always at my computer and only came to know about this issue when I met up with Dolly this morning at the airport. When I got home and checked the mails – I totally agree with her and that of a forwarded email complaint from someone who’s about to join SHC.

As an EO you cannot simply make a contradictory decision because you are in a “good mood” and then decide to stop there and then – bluff or no bluff.

The couple of people you let in, were justified (reasons already mentioned by Dolly), but to let someone who have just joined and would like to pay at the door….apa macam???

Anyhow, I’m glad you’ve now made a stand.

  141. Dolly

U forgotten u have a “Impossible mission” at hand, how can u back out …. make sure u do a good job , ok.

    Hahahahahahhaahaha

    Karen Thio

  142. Hi Susan Tan

    June

  144. Hi June,

very very buzy…by the way wat is “lau toh zer pu tong ser”. sorry can’t understand …
bottomline is can my fren, Ivy Low S L, GO OR NO GO becos has not pay yet. As mentioned, will pay u on that nite.

Thank you for the going to treat me KFC the next time.

  145. Hi SusanTan…it is NO GO for your fren, Ivy Low. Never mind the lau toh zer thingy. Go back to your work:-))) and let your hair down on 30 Aug. There wil be 52 pax that nite, hope I get to say Hi to you.

  146. Hi June

I have a pony called Poetry, so I can ride! lol.

Will send u an e-mail regarding your commission for your fever night. What’s your e-m address?

    Cheers,

  147. Hi June,

very sad! my fren Ivy cannot go. What to do, no $ no talk, never pay, cannot go.

Very paiseh to tell her that she has to be turned away.

    Anyway, thanks.

Catch up with u on that day. Still do not know by person who is June Lim. Hope to say hi to u soon.

  148. Susan-T, you shd feel happy for Ivy for escaping without a fever that Saturday……….it puzzles why one wd like to hv fever…..like what we canto say, “sor meh? kum chong yi fatt siew?”.

I can arrange a date with her at oxford that same evening but she must not come with any fever…………..ai mai?

  149. Susan, I think u had missed the most impt info as 2 why your fren, Ivy is being turned away by June. She did not rejected Ivy cos she din paid fast enuff. It more on the fact dat we had reached the headcount quota for this event and registration had been closed. Your case is exception and explained in d earlier commt, pls refer to my comt 227.

  150. Hi Dolly, thank for your explanation. I know it is not easy to say a ‘NO’ to anyone who is keen and even more difficult for the EO to please everyone due to the so many constraint.

I am very ‘kum-tong’ to you, Dolly for suggesting giving the place to my friend. No please, we want you to be there to have fun together, I am sure those who know you well, will feel very empty without you, pls pls come, even if it is a last minutes rush, I hope you will be with us.

Once again, thank to Dolly & June.

Terence – I understand her position. Next time, if I want to include her, I will try to be the early bird.

This time, I am very ‘heng’ due to Dolly very understanding.

Thank you all & see you on the fever nite!

  151. Hi AgnesSeow and Shirleen Kao…very happy to note that u are interested and very sad to be unable to tell u that u can join in….:-))).

Btw, let me tell you both tht most of the dance tracks that nite will be hot stuff. Very very little social dancing or line dancing. Nite fever…nite hot, nite 40 deg C..!!!!:-))

  152. Hi June

    Thanks for your reply.

So sad….., never mind would have more opportunities to boogie with you gals and guys.

Have a sizzling hot nite. :)

    Cheers
    Agnes

  153. Hi folks
I would like to announce that the Sat Nite fever is off.
So no hot dancing on 30 Aug.
I am so sorry if I hve disappointed u…..truly truly sorry.

I will be refunding you the money.
Pls email me your account no. and I will do ATM transfers.

I can send u a cheque too but u would need to give me your address.

    Thanks.

Really really “tui pu chi” if I hve caused any inconvenience.

  154. How I wished it was a joke. Yap, I know I will get lots of curses. I know I hve let lots of people down. I myself am sad. But some things are never meant to be. Truely sorry.

  155. June

Too be too harsh on this … U have been planning this for so long and u sure have a very good reason for the cancellation.

I believed we started this posting/planning for about 2-3 month.

I don think the members will curses u …..

    karen

  156. Hi June,

I couldn’t believe my ears when Agnes told me it was cancelled. Now i see it with my own eyes, and i still can’t believe it is cancelled. This must be a bad dream. Is there anything we can do to help you revive this event? Is the problem so grave that cannot be solved? Pls allow us to help you solve whatever problems you’re facing. Is it so bad that this event has to be cancelled? How about postponing it, perhaps?

    Regards, Lydia.

  157. Hi June,
SNF must be on la.. I purposely planned my China wrk trip rtn 2 line wif this event hence I don’t wish this 2b cancelled.

Weiwei.. Lily, OiCheng, agree bo?… Dolly

  158. Hi JuneL and team members,

I guess you and your team must have your reasons. But, please reconsider. I love SHC events, just like everybody else. You know I usually am not in Singapore; but decide to schedule this one to be with fellow SHCians.

Guess what. I bought a new earthly T-shirt to wear for SNF, a black neck chain with a silver tooth and a new pair of leather shoes to match. I hunted for a hair wig; but could find any in MBK. And, I thought I could get some silver bangles during the trip to Kukup.

    JuneL and team, please reconsider.

    Terence Seah

  159. Hi June,
Even our Founder also want this event 2b on, so on la n just enjoy our nite.. 4get watever dat happened during the pipeline, it is not impt lor.. Dolly

  160. Hi Good Morning…me again..:-))

Since 3.16 pm yesterday…I hve feedback that for the fun on 30th, some had bot stuff to wear that nite that they wouldn’t ordinariy wear, even borrowed tops from sexy chicks, Mng pants all rearing to go…etc etc and of course the SUPPORT!

Btw, I hve bot condoms too for that nite….yap! no wrong spelling there…:-)). They are to add more fun for the 30th. So why waste them!

YES, THE SHOW MUST GO ON!!!!

Pls go ahead to curse or swear at me…it is ok, I deserved it ….one day off, one day on…crazy!!…:-)))

  161. For those who hve given me their acct nos. for the refund…if u hve decided to give up on me this silly EO, pls confirm again, and I will do the refund.

Thanks and tui pu chi again.

  162. Last comment, need to get back to work….

To all those who called and emailed
….thank u thank u thank u very much. I will always remember it.

To all those going on 30th
…pls come and enjoy yourselves…eat if u feel like eating, dance if u feel like dancing, sit around if u feel like sitting, etc etc just be happy…..that will truly make my event a success.

  163. Hi JuneL and Team,

Gee, you make me and I think everybody else happy. Now, I can go out and look for some silver bangles at Kukup. Back to the condoms, hmm …. I have ideas too.

    So glad lah.

    Terence Seah

  164. Hi Terence & All

Start your countdown now – 8 days to Saturday Nite Fever.
June was getting feverish thus utter nonsense. Had given her, her dose of panadol so she has recovered. He! He! He!

Nite Fever, nite fever… Oh oh am I getting the fever too!

  165. Dear June

You call the shot. Don’t give yourself too much pressure. Everything status quo ya. I must thank you personally on that nite.

    Best Regards
    Helen

  166. I will be there at Oxford come Saturday nite 300808 unlkess taken away by men or gourd, and will wait to buy a ticket from anyome wanting to sell me one………not dancing as I dont but to give my support to an event that has been planned long long ago and many are looking forward to. No sweat if no ticket at gate, will gate-crash…………………

  167. Hi June,

Due to unforseen circumstances, my hubby, Gabriel Lim and myself would like to withdraw from this event.

Please let the others who wanted to slot in for these two vacancies.

I apologise for the inconvenience caused.

    Regards,
    Anne
    email address: gabriellim1188@hotmail.com

  168. Lest it is misunderstood that “gate-crashing” i.e. free-loadings is another SHC cilture, no it is not. So yes Dolly I may land and crash thru the roof in a helicopter but I wont gate crash and will probably sit outside as I smoke, to hear the singing, dancing whatever inside, no participation, no F&B and no tackling of the gals inside unless they walk out to tackle me………….Attending without paying or by any better name one calls it wont be fair for those who hv saved and invested for the nite.

  169. Hi Tim….good morning…hey, u are the only SHC member who can say anything and I can let u get away with..:-)))..your kindness is locked in my heart….:-)))…c u……and pls pls no reply to this comment….:-)…I don’t want to go knocking my head against the wall…:-)

  170. Good morning to you too, June-L. Since there’s one withdrawal due to unforeseen circumstances, I shall pick up that ticket and so wont have to pine and whine outside and bind myself to jaga sengh downing the sole wine.

Haha, if my lucky star shines brighter on me, who knows, I might ask for 2 tickets if I can find a gf by then …….any volunteer? Will pay on the day, ok?

Great that this Fever does take off despite some hiccups which is normal for senior citizens like us whose temperature rises a bit higher when we catch the fever but it also goes away faster than the young sengs and lians…………

  171. Hi AnneChee…oh dear, why like dat? Let me check with my Com on this pls.

Dear Com…I think I heard something abt replacements are allowed but not withdrawals..am I right? I don’t want to set a precedent for future EOs…Your advice pls.

  172. Hi JuneL

Participation withdrawal is allowed. Monies paid will not be refunded until replacement is found n paid. Withdrawer has 2 find own replacement.

  173. Heee, YK, the ferocious 4….you mean they do nibble, gnaw, bite thru the nite? One is already so shiok for me, how to handle 4? Must start drinking bull essence mixed with virgin chicken eggs liao……….

Jokes aside, please consider 1 ticket as sold to me. Tks.

  174. 3 more days to go funky!!!
    Bottoms – blue denim jeans
Tops – anything anything at all
and lots of silver metal and bling bling.

But then hor, someone bot a BLACK neck chain!!…
never mind, he usually gets his dates, spelling wrong. So guess he may ride the color wrongly too.
Anyway, silver or black ..doesn’t really matter.

Most impt is to be happy, let your hair down that nite and move/gyrate/dance/whatever, to ….Play that funky music right boy..remember the song by Wild Cherry?

Btw, funky music does not include Phantom of the Opera!!….lol

  175. 2 more days to funky nite!!!!

Here’s the prog again…the first one got buried ..:-)

  176. I don’t know where the proper post is for this, so I put this here…

This weekend, there are some sporty members doing the 130,000 m write round the island…that’s a lot of muscle work man!!!..pedal, pedal, pedal….
I and on behalf of the funky members, wish Douglas, YewKwong, Rene and whoever else (sorry, don’t know who else going) a wonderful write….u go guys!!

Whn u back, ride us abt your experience!

  177. Hope the games played btwn 7.31 pm and 11 pm will include hide-n-seek which can be played for a long long time esp if the gals pasang, we guys hide in the toilet, otherwise while it’s dance dance dance for all, it’ll be doze x 3 for me……unlike scorebot, they dont have a tree outside oxford to climb, sigh.

  178. Hello Tim,

No tree outside Oxford, got lamp post what, you can climb the lamp post. But hor, what for you climb lamp post, you might as well do the pole dancing since it’s “sAtuRdaY NiTe fEvEr”. ha…ha…ha…..I joke joke only huh..see you this sat, no need to comment on my comment. :)

    Ah Nee

  179. ANee, the lamp and its post hv served you well all these years without which you wont be seen by so many who, from a distance, shouted out atyou excitedly “There she is, the one with the nee, tua tua liap one…….’ as they lapped you up.

And now you ask me a non dancer to do the pole dance which is like me ravaging your friend who had brought you so much happiness, needless to say, business even Rose Chan wd hv envied…………….

  180. Hi June, Saturday Night Fever has now become a reality. So, to all the guys, dont forget your jeans, which is part of the evening’s theme. Guys, please come early as I see from the schedule, it’s 30 minutes.

And, Ladies, I shall do a search tonight of what I have in my inventory. I bottle of Korean Sohu, 1 bottle of Black Label and a 3/4 bottle of Laphroaig. No Kahlua.

TimL, glad you finally can make it. I shall reserve the space on top of the tree for you to rest, after the disco. And Oi Cheng, let your short hair down, don’t be too serious, have not seen you in jeans before.

Dolly, Lily, recently I read about the new Thai discos sprouting up all over Singapore. Let’s talk about it tomorrow. And Yew Kwong, I plan to go back at 2am. Let’s brain the storm.

Look forward to seeing all of you tomorrow.

    Terence Seah

  181. yea, I read abt the thai discos…last Sunday Times newspapers…buay tahan…it mentioned those in beach road were targetting at the 40s and those in orchard road are targetting at the 20s…What abt us silver hairs!

Terence, cld u get the one who interviewed you a month back to come to Oxford tom nite to see how silver hairs can party too?

People never see us silver hairs up..even clothes are not designed for us…mmmm..:-)))

  182. “……dont forget your jean…” Sengh, I never had a gf by this name and dont see ny active SHCian going by this name so I may hv to come with jean’s mother cheongsum.

“And Oi Cheng, let your short hair down, don’t be too serious, have not seen you in jeans before”. Haha, Sengh, why speak in riddles and beat around the bush when it really means thsi “dont be too serious, have not seen you in jeans so let yr short jeans down……”. The hair thingy is a thin veil of yr true desire.

Now, you jialat liao………heard of Adm Cheng Ho who ruled the seas? Now, you know who Oi of the Cheng clan is and what she can do to make you float vertically upside down in the seas……………..

  183. June

Thanks for a great night of dancing & fellowship with the dancing group of SHC.

Have to Thanks Dolly & Lily Ho for assisting June to make it a very successful night for all.

Terences – U looked so cute in that wig but I did not notice any silver bangle on your hand ??? (haha)

Thomas – Thanks the sending the ladies home to Dover.

    Goo Night

    karen

  184. Hi June, Dolly, Lily and Oi Cheng

My sincere thanks for your effort, time and resources to organise this for our enjoyment.

The little flower peg was a lovely souvenir. The sticky yellow label with my name on it was lost for a while till I found it stuck to my hair. Well, that’s for leaving my two name tags at home. Yeah, two! One from Dolly for first D&D and the other from Grace for dinner at Sunset Way.

The food was edible. I had several pieces of fish and one scoop of curry cabbage, but skipped the rest. Oh yeah, I also had two bowls of mushroom soup, many slices of tomato, one bowl of almond without syrup and many cups of warm water.

The games were fun though our Red group was second runner-up. What was that thing that Tim was using to collect the marbles? Surely it is too big to be a condom? Got thingy so big to fit in there meh?

It was hilarious to see the three sporting guys donning hairbands and doing the ballet. Guess they will stick to social dance and line dance.

The dancing was great and it was a miracle that some of us managed to maneuver round the crowded floor to do the waltz.

Thanks everybody for a wonderful night that almost did not happen…

    Joy

  185. ‘ What was that thing that Tim was using to collect the marbles? Surely it is too big to be a condom? Got thingy so big to fit in there meh?’

Joy, it’s a condom alright and t mst have given more joy to Joy than Joy ever knew. It doest fit a man’s limp, lifeless appendage It’s worn like a glove over his fist and the orgasm comes when he starts punching. Pls do share the Joy………..

  186. Hi Karen/Bira/Joy, thanks for the compliments dat given 2 us. Well, I oso enjoyed vry much. Many tks to Karen again 4 personally design the 1 n only top dat nite 4 me, Wow, alot of them so envy of me leh… hehehehe…

  187. Dear Karen, Bira & Joy,

The EO must be zonked out, so on behalf of my team-mates,……..You are most welcome. Glad that you’ve enjoyed yourself. :)

And To All Those Who came,
    ===========================
A Big THANKS to you. Without your support, this event would not have been possible.

    Also, Special Thanks to :
    —————————
    – those who participated in games, for being so sporting.
    – those who made extra effort in dressing-up for the nite.

Sincerely appreciate your presence and hope to have fun with you again in the near future.

    Team : EO June Lim,
Oi Cheng, Dolly, Yew Kwong & Lily.

  188. Hi June, Dolly, Lily & Oi Cheng

Thanks for the wonderful evening. I enjoyed myself with the blow job which I could not complete for fear of the ball..oon bursting. Good thing I have Lum Fook to complete the job for me.

June was like the patrol officer – going around making sure everyone is having fun.

Oi Cheng making sure everyone has the cute peg.

The games were fun and hilarious. Dolly never fails to entertain.

Lily, our DJ, also the “lead” dancer made sure we had good music to dance to.

    Had so much fun.

Not forgetting all those who attended the function and made the event so enjoyable.

Thanks Terence for the waltz, which we both had difficulty getting the steps right. Right or wrong steps, it does not really matter, so long as we enjoyed it.

    Cheers everyone :)

    Warmest Regards
    Caroline Gee

  189. A Big ‘Thank You’ to our lovely committee members, Lily, Dolly, Oi Cheng & June!

Compliments to a well planned & fulfilling nite that everyone of us were so reluctant to leave the event hall till past midnite. Special thanks to Lily ~~ for graciously teaching us the macarena dance steps too.

‘Hello Dolly’~~ you’re always so spontaneous in your role as M.C.of any event, which is laudable.

    Cheers!

  190. Dear June, Dolly, Lily, Oi Cheng & Yew Kwong
Now that the ‘fever’ has subsided, can sit down and thank all of you properly for a reaally wonderful n enjoyable nite. Greatly appreciate all the efforts put in to make all of us have a good time.
June you’re really a good host – going around asking whether we’re enjoying ourselves. Actually no need to be so ‘gan cheon’. Leave it to us silver hairs, we know how to enjoy ourselves.

Lily, many thanks for churning out the dance music, setting the mood and teaching us a new dance.

Aiyo Dolly, I laughed so much esp the last game where John did the ballet number, I had the best sleep, in months, last nite. Actually hor, I finally discovered the remedy for a good nite’s sleep- to have a hearty laugh. Now I truly believe laughter is the best medicine.
Anybody know of a laughter club where I can join?

  191. Hi Good Morning everybody…Wow!!!!What a pleasant surprise whn I opened up my office PC this morning….all your comments make my black Monday morning purple!!!…(purple is my favourite color..:-)))

I am so happy u enjoyed yourselves.

I myself enjoyed myself very very much….I didn’t feel tired at all…I really could hve danced alll nite..:-)))

Thank u very much for your support.

And yet again, I thank my committee ..Dolly, Lily, OiCheng and YewKwong for their support.

    Thank u Thank u …..

  192. Thank you June, Dolly, Lily and Oi Cheng for making the nite a most memorable one.

Altho I was not ready to dance and wont dance for a while, my nite was never bored. I was treated to an eye-feasting of the most sensuous of gyrates, belly-buttons of all sizes (some obviously unwashed for years), with bumps rounder than water melons flinging to tease and boobs the ice cream man wd hv said “5 scoops”.

The dancing SHCians were no ordinaraires……some started timidly and gingerly but with finding initial inhibitions an unnecessary shackle, they graduated into almost professionals, doing the cha cha in the tune of waltz.

I was very very surprised to see the marathon man Lum Fook (affectionately, Lang Chai Fook) taking the dance floor like a drake taking to water… gliding, swirling, twirling, twisting gracefully in all styles which belied his chinaman look. That nite, Lum Fook was no canto soap opera’s sor fook.

I was mighty proud of everyone in my Yellow Team. They cheered themselves hoarse each time we raised our slogan of “Beat the Red, Screw The Blue, Yellow Yellow Super Fellows !” to a feversih pitch. With spirit so high, how could any team beat us? We collected 17 marbles, 6 more than our closest rivals, to win hands down. Thank you guays for so spontaneously volunteering yourselves to play the games and won for the Yellow Team !

I am sure it’s a nite all will remember for a very very long time.

  193. Thanks the member in the committee – June Lim, Dolly, Oi Cheng & Lily being organized such a wonderful & enjoyable Sat Night Fever’s event. The moment when I step in the hotel, Terence wearing the wig is the first person who make me laugh, as he look cute & I not event recognize him. EO of the games – Dolly, she always come out all ideas to cheers up all the members.

I also need to thanks Tim to come out his idea of the slogan of “Beat the Red, Screw the Blue, Yellow Yellow Super Fellows” & our team finally beat all the red & screw away all the blue & become yellow super. hihi..

Lastly, I would like to thanks the member who given out the place & let me able get the chance to attend this event.

  194. So glad that most of you have enjoyed yourselves. That is the top priority of a committee in any event.

I have missed the first game segment as I was still outside at the registration desk, but I am certainly glad that I did not miss the last one.

John, you look so cute with the hairband, and Susan, you not only mesmerized me with your dancing with Bernard, but also as a male lead. I had such a good laugh.

When Terence walked in with his wig, we all laughed non stop.. Sorry Terence, didn’t mean to be rude but.. HA! HA! HA!

And Charles, I have never expected to see the other side of you. You look like the “pai giang” from west side story, but I can tell you enjoyed yourself very much.

Tim, time to put on your dancing shoes and start dancing la, then you will have no time to take break for a puff outside. It’s a healthy exercise leh! I also just started learning this year.

Karen, I was one of them who envied Dolly for the top that you made for her. Have yet to know all the members you came with but when the photos come in, I should ne able to.

Finally, thanks to all attendees for making this nite a memorable one. The EO, Dolly, Lily and I are happy because you are all happy!!

See you all at the next SHC event.

By the way, Alfred Ang, where are you???

  195. Well, Judy, the first 2 liners may be mine but credit to you and all, esp Thomas, who together coined that unifying 3rd liner.

Huh, for once, Sengh discarded his turban for the wig which made him look anything but a sengh. The wig will continue to grow on his head and he wont hv to wait long to bun it up again and back to a sengh.

John happily wore the hair band, convinced that it will induce hair growth. And when he kicked his leg up in what was supposed to be ballet, did you not hear the poooooooooooooot sound? It was qigong at the highest grade – the 18th – which helped him balance like a feather in Susan’s arms………

And no surprise that Catherine-Y snatched the elephant condom from me………no prize for guessing not who but what his bf is? It attests to the saying, when one is big, one goes for the huge.

  196. Can’t resist to say more things before this post is passe..:-)))

That nite…there were lots of gorgeous guys and gals..
but the guy who wowed me most is the guy in hip cool shades and black singlet..(but don’t know y he put on his shirt at the later part).
and the gal who wowed me most is the one with the short short shimmering skirt and the feathers!!!…later she changed into her dancing shoes and it was a perfect 10 top to toe.

    See…silver hairs can party man!!!

  197. Oi Cheng

Don need to be jealous or envy la. The Next Sat Night fever… u will be my model and I will make sure u look as sexy as Dolly la.

    Karen

    June

I can see that “Happy face” of your … it is indeed a very successful event and my “gang” enjoyed it so much.

They were already looking forward to the next D & D and I told them , June, Dolly , Lily , Yew Kwong & Oi Cheng already planning another SNF …Very sooooon

  198. Hi Karen…so good to hear that you and gang enjoyd the nite.

And so good to hve met u…u were so funny whn u were doing the ballet with your ballerina…whn both of you were gliding sideways…both were so funny…laugh till can die!!!…many thnks to Dolly….:-))

  199. Hi Jassmine….the SNF poem u wrote…I printed it out and brought to Oxford…but things happened so quickly ..esp if one is having fun…so I totally forgot to read it out for all to enjoy…Sorry…may I post it in the forum pls?

  200. Tim L,

I hate to disappoint you but sorry I don’t have an elephant ‘friend’ who can fit into that already overstretched condom (saw you swinging and playing with it in between the games). Actually I wanted the marbles to add to my son’s collection but since it came in a condom, so be it! Btw pls be more specified about ‘big’ and ‘huge’ cos I am very bad with riddles…..hehe

  201. Hi June, thanks for organizing the FEVER party, after non-stop dancing, my temperature shot up and I almost got to pop in a few tablets of Panadol. You are such a great host! When others were enjoying, you were policing to ensure that everything was within control and almost at the end of the party then you asked me to dance Saturday Nite Fever and Macarena with you.

Not forgetting our Lily and Dolly, without them the party can’t move ON n ON with the lively music, dance demo and jokes. Lolly, your jokes n Singlish/Lianish really made me laughed until I ‘penk’ and when on stage your face is comical enough for every1 to burst into laughter. Hehehe………….

Oi Cheng, you are always smiling, thanks for issuing me with a blue peg which created unique design for 1 side of my ear-ring.

Thanks to Lin Chuah for being so efficient, our party ended after 11pm and I received my fotos from your express email just after midnight.

Cheers and see you all at the next party?

  202. Hi June, Dolly , Lily and Oi Cheng.
Thanks for making the event a success. I enjoyed it very much too. Thanks EO June Lim. Our dancing teacher, Lily for teaching us the dance and being a wonderful MC. FOr Oi Cheng, thanks for being such a efficient receptionist. I like the peg you gave me the last time. Tarences, i also like the wig your wore the other day and thanks for the drinks you brought along with you. By the way, Karen, you’re welcome. It’s just on the way. Last but not least, thanks everyone who came along, look forward to see you all again. Cheers!

  203. Dear Veron and Thomas and all who attended the party……thanks much for your support and kind words…makes the committee’s and EO’s effort so worth it !!! YES!!! YES!!!

And Bira, I forgot to meniton this earlier….u look so GREAT in the white jeans and jacket…remember the wolf whistles whn u took off the jacket?…:-))) wow!!!

I am feeling on top of the world…how abt u Lily, Dolly and OiCheng?

Btw, the 4th committee member was not there that nite..so it is like out of sight, out of mind….but I would like to take this opportunity here to thank him once again. He is very very supportive. Potential EOs out there, if u want unwavering support for your event, pls make sure u recruit him into your committee….:-))).

I m on top of the world, looking down on creation and the…..remember the song..:-)))

  204. Hi June @# 312
Congrats on the success of SNF. The poem is history and outdated – not suitable for ‘publication’ anymore. Best put it in your store-room.

Looking forward to news about the drums.

  206. “…..I forgot to meniton this earlier….u look so GREAT in the white jeans and jacket…remember the wolf whistles whn u took off the jacket..…”. 209. Hi June,Lily, Dolly & Oi Cheng,

See what U’ve done to Karen! She called U “oil”cheng! Ha..ha…

Yeh! Agreed wif her. Enjoyed ourselves very much. Thanks to all of U & yr planning.Another comment to add to SNF.

U all should see how Tim was puffing away like a chimmney and walking up and down outside like a “PI” with his “Hawaiian” shirt. He looked exactly like one from the media.

Luckily, U’ve him around, lest there was this China man looking very suspiciously. I dun know if he’s admiring the ladies’bumps or eyeing at the handbags. He was sitting jux outside the door for quite a while.
So ladies watch out whilst U enjoyed yrselves.

As for me, I enjoyed myself v much esp holding the ribbon for the “Limbo Rock”.
Last but not least, paid $17 & won $10 from the games!

    Hippy!

  215. HI Oi cheng,

I don’t seem to be able to open up the link to view the photos.

Can u pls email the link to me via my email address lydiachin@dbs.com

I had a wonderful time during the evening. Thanks to the whole organising committee for doing a wonderful job.

    Thanks, Lydia.

  216. Hi June, I know I am not early but it is still not late to send you this post. I know this is 2nd time I am using this statement. First is the post I send to Danz & Joy. Now is to U. Hope there will be no 3rd time using this statement but maybe there will be, haha.

I was so surprised when Lydia told me that the event was nearly cancelled and later it was reinstated when we were in Kukup island. You see, I was so blurred.

I would like to personally say a ‘BIG THANK YOU’ for making this event ‘HAPPENED’ & I really enjoyed myself very much that nite. It also gave me the opportunity to have hand-on, showing off some of the moves which I have just learnt. haha, I hope I am not boosting. I am also very touched you came personally to share my hand and introduce yourself.

June, job well done. I really have a good time!

    Good nite!

  217. Good Morning Susan….thank God for people like you who make other peoples’ day!!!…:-)). You are so kind.

Yes let’s reminisce (old people’s favourite pasttime :-)))…that nite… the Nite fever and Macarena were so good..thanks to Lily…the games were so so good…thanks to Dolly…OiCheng made sure everybody had one of those little cutie pegs…thanks OiCheng..and the music was great!! thanks to :-))))

So your poor fren missed it..:-)) I almost had to buy u KFC meal…:-))))

  218. Hi June,

Oh dear, I didn’t know that you don’t get to eat. As I am so blurred, I did not know what time the event will start until I have to call someone and when I went there, I went to Allison instead of Oxford and when I reached Oxford, there wasn’t much food left. I nearly had to scratch from the bottom of the pan but thanks god, was enuf for me. The food was good! Credit should go to you.

Hey, I remembered you saying buying me KFC in your earlier post….don’t worry, lets one day, catch up for makan, ok with you.

Once again, thank you for your good work! I really enjoy dancing. Without dancing, once a week, my leg will be very itchy…haha

  219. Firstly, personally, think it is an advantage to hve blurred vision…:-))))…life is so much easier….perfect vision can be a disadvantage…tend to see too much, therefore pick too much…:-)))

Secondly, pls I don’t deserve all the credit..for info, SHC has held several events at Oxford. So the place was recommended to me whn I was looking for a place for SNF. Frankly, the food wasn’t that great although I didn’t eat much that nite.

U love dancing…i c…so u joined the right club…lots of dancing events organised by Dan and Lily.

Think we may make good combo…blur sotong and kancheong spider..:-))))

  220. Haha…..

I don’t know. Maybe that nite, I was too hungry, so anything that come along is also delicious.

I do have my own dancing kakis…..

Are you going to Social nite at Scarlet? I will not be joining them. Once a week, I will go to Happy Days at Bishan.

Will u be at the Gathering 2nite? Hope to see u again!
