Jennifer Wee – Profile

Hi everyone, hope to get to know you all better in the coming days!

My friend introduce me to this interesting club and I am looking forward to it.

Let me tell you abit of my humble self emoticon

I am an outdoor person, I loves camping, hiking but those were the days. Yet I still cycle around east Coast park with my dear friend whenever we have the time.

I am always active in volunteering in social and community work,
such as St John, VC, Befriender, CDC, Volunteer Special Police Constabulary, Residents’ Committee. Not only I gain experiences through volunteer work  but to appreciates life better.

Although I am supposed to retired, but can’t stop working because I love my career, it’s not only interesting but very challenging as well … hahaha emoticon

That’s all folks emoticon

  10. Hi CharlesW!

You didn’t read properly is it? Jennifer alredi said she wanted to rest her two feet if possible. Here U go asking her to join in the walk! Ha..ha..
    Relax…la…

    Kaypo Catho!

  11. yes Norlinda,

saya pure peranakan 100% no mixture ok!!! hmm.. u smart gal yeah?!!

I love to joke but must respect others also, just don’t go to the extreme because sometime we don’t know we joke and some people very sensitive they get angry.
But I like people to tell me if they don’t like so I will be careful as much as I can remember, also I learn from there.

    I hope you

  12. Sorry Norlinda,
Alamak, I sleepy already I want to say I hope you also like jokes and stop halfway I click submit? hahaha ..

anyway, I also think I got to stop joking, you know when we laugh too much we swallow air inside our stomach and now at this age of mine it’s so difficult to slim my balloon tummy..

  13. Alamak!

Another peranakan and a 100% one at that!

Jennifer: your name already conjures up an impression of a peranakan lady… and :Wee”… definitely!

Welcome to the club! And to the bunch of peranakans and half-peranakans and non-peranakans!

By the way… do you cook a mean peranakan meal? Buah keluak, pongteh, kueh pie tie, laksa, itek sioh, sambal belimbing, kuah ladah, babi assam, gerang assam, chap chye, kiam chye ark, poh piah, ayam tempra, trubok busok, aaaargggghhhh!

  14. Hi Kenneth, Steven, Jennifer, Caroline, Norlinda & others,

Shall we form a mini “peranakan” grp then? To all those who like to eat or cook peranakan food. Let’s meet & eat & “cakap & cakap” until we full & “cakap lagi”…ha..ha..

That’s what SHC is for! Common interests!

    Jennifer,

We play games fr 11 am- 1 pm only! The rest of time U could spent wif yr family. Minus some of yr Sat outing time la!

    Alamak!
    “If there’s a will, there’s a way!”

Btw, which church do U go to? Care to e-mail to me?

  15. Hi Jennifer

That “alamak” is an expression of pleasant surprise of finding another peranakan in our group… not like Nor’s disappointment in #1 that you won’t be able to join our Chiang Mai group.

If you’re 100% peranakan you must be of Hokkien origin, both parents must be also peranakan (no doubt), speak a lingo of baba malay but hardly any chinese, a Singapore or Malaysian lineage going back four to seven generations, AND… it’s this last part that grabs me… loves genuine peranakan food!

Yes, let’s get together to cook and eat that list of peranakan food…

Don’t let my “ayer lioh turun sampai pusat” just thinking about it!

  16. Jennifer @19

    U sleepy at 9.30pm?..u must be a ‘kway bak’..im a nite bird!..tak tido b4 12am tau!..hehe

Ya lah, must be careful when joke..especially when u dont really know each other well…so what i do with newbee normally i will observe..macam detective!
Think it made sense…laugh too much, perut masuk angin,no wonder i so gemuk lah…hhhmmm

    Kenneth&22
Surname Wee means peranakan?…your last phrase @26,yr peranakan idiom so cute!…sampai pusat!…haha
Then why trubok busok?…anything busok..can eat ah?..what’s that?…maybe u can give recipe at Chiangmai boleh?..:)

  17. Hahaha!

I don’t think Nor has tried my cooking… nor has anybody else in SHC. That’s why all of you guys are still around!

I am a great taster of peranakan food… used to have my mother call upon me just to taste her cooking…

“Uhh… I think a little more salt… just a tad of sugar more… no, no, wait… let’s try another bowl before I give my opinion.”

“Trubok busok” is a genuine peranakan dish and very rare to find nowadays… it’s name conjures up an image of “rotting” or smelly fish. It consists of the leftover bones of a salted fish… prawns, long beans, eggplant, bittergourd in a “gerang assam” rempah.

No, I don’t cook peranakan… being a true-blue peranakan, I leave it to my wife (another true-blue) to do all the cooking…

Oh, oh… excuse me, I need to get some kueh pie tee, pongteh, belimbing sambal, chap chye from the dinner table before I continue this post…

  18. Hi Catherine,

thanks for telling me the badminton timing, my family time is 11am to 1pm after that is my time.. terbalek hahaha..

good to have a peranakan grp, but we can also invite others and have fun with various dishes each time we meet i.e. one time purely peranakan, another indonesian, another hainanese specialty, hakka etc. etc.

  19. Hi Jennifer!

Ha..ha.. U letting the cat out of the bag!
