As usual, busy working schedule in China make me impossible to plan for December monthly gathering, any volunteer wants to help me on this, pls hand up ok… reli reli much appreciate…….
FYI, I will make myself availabe for the meeting as I am scheduled to return to SG from Dec 12 to Dec 16 and Dec 29 to Jan 1’10.

Thanks for the kindness to volunteer to chair the monthly gathering. Normally, we usually let the EO select 2 dates for us (Terence, YewKwong and me) to choose so that we can make sure at least 2 out 3 will be around for the mthly meet. Do you hv a venue or any activities that you hv in mind to plan for this? Pls let me know via my email dlgummy@hotmail.com

A note of appreciation to Dolly for last month’s gathering. I had fun and got to meet interesting people. It was my first meeting to the monthly event and members kept saying “you are new you need to go around and introduce yourself”. this is something I am happy to do, it has been expressed to me that other new members have found it intimidating – as with joining any new established group.
May I suggest for future gathering new members are given a coloured name tag or sticker on the name tag.
This will allow established members of the club to go forward to new members and introduce themselves. This will help new member to get to know more people and make them feel welcome. A “Meet and Greet” atmosphere is always more fun and comfortable.

For the Dec 2009 monthly gathering, Sam Goh has volunteered to be the Event Organiser. The date is Mon 28 Dec 2009, and will be held at a condo apartment, located near a train station along the circle line.

Hi Terence, Dolly,
I noticed that getting an EO for every monthly meeting can
be difficult.
After reviewing those mtgs over the past 1 yr, it seemed
most of the times they are rather routine, except for
a couple of occasions where special events were held, eg,
Dance performances at Kovan, Peranakan Fashion show at SMU,
boad games at Ghim Moh.
Most of the times, there were no specific agenda, and members
were on their own to mingle around freely. The default
venue for most of these meetings seemed to be at Great
Eastern Building.
Based on these facts, may I suggest that these mtgs be held
on Auto-pilot, ie, without the need for an EO save for the
presence of the registration team to give out nametags and
take attendance.
Only when special events are organised would an EO be recruited.
That way, we kill 2 birds with 1 stone.
What do the Administrators and members think?
