Silverhairs who would like to give a special talk or seminar need to just inform admin@silverhairsclub.com at least one month prior. Presentations can be in English or Chinese. In line with SilverHairsClub objective, we hope this facility can help to provide a platform for SilverHairs to get to know new and more friends. Issues regarding retirement, hobbies, cycling, nature walks, travelling together, making friends, line dancing, qi gong practice, continued education and learning, music playing, singing, small business group discussions and over 45s information sharing are supported.
First time users: it will take your about 3 – 5 minutes to log in. After the first time, it will take you only a few seconds to log in. Members can textchat online, individually or in public mode. Rules: Strictly no conversations on religion, race, politics, sex, direct selling and MLM during the meeting. Participants not observing the rules will be knocked out of the conference. This is an online gathering. The place is your PC. We are trying this for the first time, so that we begin the process of getting SilverHairs to meet on the net. This will include SilverHairs who prefer to stay at home, and whom we have never met before in real person.

I think that it is not a very good idea as the real intention is for SHC members to meet up and inter-ract and get to know each other better . By doing this it defeats the purpose and therefore it is just like communicating but not seeing each other . Certain matters we can communicate through the net but not not for monthly meeting .
Perhaps let me help to make things clearer. In Aug 06, SHC will be having 2 gatherings, one virtual on Sat, 5 Aug 06 (that is online) and the other physical, on Fri, 25 Aug 06. Online meeting had already been in place many years ago but since people dont use it, it seems alien to most. It’s nothing new to me and the equivalent to this, Instant Messaging, I have been doing it everyday keeping in contact with friends.
I lead the cycling group. We meet once a month for activity. Other than this, we communicate with each others through emails and sharing jokes regularly.
Monthly gathering is only a platform to bring members together. It’s your subsequent efforts to continue where it first started.
