We have been requested by a seniors lifestyle magazine Silver Lining to feature some of our talented SHCians. Two SHCians have been identified, and they are Jane Kee and Ron Koh. Jane’s talent in producing colourful paper flowers from magazine sheets. Ron Koh is also a talented origamist in Singapore, and while he is now with a stroke, he is recovering fast. He hopes to join SHC activities when he gets in better shape.
They will be interviewed by the magazine soon, and we look forward to seeing the published work soon.

Hi, Caroline #1:
Thanks for your well wishes.
I am making steady progress in recovery with the help of acupuncture and physiotherapy. Already back on my feet, but the arm and hand will require more time.
Have not been posting for about a year, as I didn’t want the info to be publicised. I have been keeping myself informed of SHC activities, though. Must say that I have missed the gatherings and outings.
To borrow famous words from Arnie: “I’ll be back …” :o)
Ron Koh
Hi Ronald
You are welcome. Glad to know that you are recovering steadily. Take care and hope to see you soon at SHC gatherings.
All the best to you.
Warmest Regards
Caroline
Dear Ronald-K,
I missed reading this post till now. I am sorry to read that you’re affected by stroke. Knowing how much a fighter you’re – remember Arnie (or was it ahNee?) had to crawl btwn yr legs when he lost his last fight which was with you – you will be back very soon, and stronger.
You and I are like firecrackers, or at least that was the “me”. We were fast to react to what we perceived as “injustice”, a sham or humbug, thereby pumping up our adrenalin. I have changed, If someone irritates me with a kiss on my left cheek, I’ll offer him more than my right cheek……..I throw in both sides of my butt.
Nice if you too would slow down. Take human foibles as a fact and facet of life and living and that will help us to see there is beauty in the beast.
Last, not least, when you next take in students for your origami, I promise I wont hide this time.
Take care, butty !

Hi Ronald Koh
When I first joined SHC in Sep 08, I was directed to your website by Patrick Lee and I was very very impressed with your work and was hoping to meet you some day and learn the art from you.
Was keeping a lookout for you at SHC function but never had the chance to meet you. Did asked a few members about you but none of them of them know why you were absent for such a long time and it was only through this post that I knew about your health issue. Glad to know that you are on the road to recovery and I hope one day I can get to meet you and learn your craft.
Take care and looking forward to meeting you someday
Sockie
Hi, Sockie #7:
My apologies for the long absence.
While I’m at it, I must apologise to all of you who had signed up for the origami class I was supposed to conduct. On hind-sight, perhaps it was premature of me to announce the class then. I still intend to hold the classes when I’m able, but I guess it will be a long way from now.
You will not need to wait so long, though, as I see Paul Kong and the ladies have stepped up to the plate. Good for them. I will be making an exciting announcement concerning a world-class origami event in Singapore later on Paul’s “World of Origami” post.
Ron Koh
Hi RonaldK,
You are always welcome back at any time. Think about it, you are already with us all the time. We all miss you.
