Investment group and weekly coffee talk ?

Hi all SHC members, I have read that in USA it is common for retirees or housewifes to form a group, so that they can get their hands into Investing in Stocks, Futures, with the experts in the club providing good and free advice resulting in good returns. As i have just starting getting into investiing in stocks , futures, CFDs ,etc, i just wonder if we can form such a group , so that those who may be Experts can share their expertise and experience  to help new comers like me.  So far , i have learned quite a lot from people like Dave and Andrew and i think they could be others out there who may have just as much as expertise or more and can help us all.  At the same time,  some who like me, who are just starting out,  will defintely benefit by learning from these people.  Of course’ everything is on a good will basis, no guarantees and everyone is responsible for their own investments, but talk is free, and knowing more is defintely better in any investments.  At the end of day, it is also a good way to get to know more SHC members and have something current and of strong interests to talk about.  Ronald , 91519301 ( SMS if possible)

  1. Now that sounds like real fun.

Let’s have it in a chill cafe or cybercafe. We can then play on-line with real time markets but not real money. Just monopoly money. We can have a “how-to” talk and mentor guide through the trades.

Count me in if you need help to organize.

  2. yeah! truly an Allrounder! Now & then I do some investment without really understanding much about terms, the market…etc, u know what I mean, and a true blue Novice on online trading. Suppose to go to learn but never get to doing so!
    Play, play…… count me in!

  3. That sounds interesting. I am a retiree and currently doing part-time job. Like Christina, I did some investment without doing much homework. Still trade off and on….. count me in!

  4. It is good to share our personal experiences of losses and gains and missed opportunities and have a good laugh. Nothing is absolute, so be prepared for the market to surprise even though you have got all the advice and done your homework. Be able to take the losses.
We can have some ‘serious’ fun together!!
    Happy investing.

  5. Hi Ronald

I’d be glad to join your group. At present, I’m trading thru the US market in a small way but would be interested to discuss and share experiences and “trading tips” with other members.

  6. Hi Ronald,

I am new to SHC. I trade in SGX, KLSE and also been into Unit Trust regularly. Count me in as it is a good idea to discuss and share experience and knowledge to make a good judgement in investing.

  7. Hi Ronald

Please keep me informed of any session. I have some shares which are not making money but do not know how to sell them off. It would be good to learn from the experienced.

  8. We are losing traction in this thread. Email circulation is also not meant for such group discussion. But it is fascinating and educational. It will be a shame to allow the discussion collapse under its own weight.

Here’s a solution. I have backed up the discussions in a forum specially for all of us. It is under “Silverhairs archive posts”. Feel free to try it out. Let’s take it from here.

    http://www.contentmedia.com.sg/club

You have to register again since we are not linked to the Silverhairsclub database. The rest is a breeze. I have provided news feeds and some TA to give the topic some real time edge.

    Hope you guys like it.
