June Chin – Profile

Hi SHC members,

My name is June Chin, a new SHC member.  I am a volunteer working with children at the KK Hospital, Singapore Arts Museum, and National Museum of Singapore, doing arts and crafts.  i aso teach English as a second language (ESL) to foreign students at the International Baptist Church.

I share a variety of common interests with some SHC members, such as meeting people, listening to music, going to concerts, dancing, food, travelling, reading and exercise etc.  You see me every morning at the Botanic Gardens.

By the way, anyone interested in language?  I like to practise speaking German and it would be great if I can find a match at SHC.

Be seeing you in the forthcoming activities.

  1. Hi fellow members,

Further to our July 17 monthly gathering and
after having heard some of SHC members ideas and aspirations on the various interests to generate business and some income, I thought I might just add a few suggestions and like to have your feedback to determine whether we can work out something. For example, I volunteer to work with children and teaching English. If you people have same interest in these two activities perhaps we can pool our resources and form a service from SHC to people who might be interested to engage our services.

    What do you say???

  2. Hi Terence,

Can you please ask the webpage master to arrange all our MEMBER’;s PROFILES in ALPHABETICAL ORDER so it is easy for us to search our desired profile.
Right out it takes a long time to scroll up and down. Uneccessary wastage of time.

    Thanks,
    Steven Chan

  3. Hi Steven,

As a forum, all Postings are listed in reversed chronological order.

I shall check further if alpha listing can be done. At the moment, I don’t have so much hope this is possible. May have to find another way.
If you are looking for someone, do try the SEARCH feature.

  4. Hi June,

A very warm welcome to you to be part of us here in SHC.

Your idea of offering some kind of language school is practical as we have many retired teachers in our midst, which should be explored in-depth by the like-minded.

Haha, if you are sort of taken aback by the earlier digress, this is life in SHC….normal and quite fun actually.

See, we are all over 45, tend to hav a few grouses more than the young.

So as you live life in SHC you’ll continue to see a discussion say on business ideas becoming a soccer pundits’ world.

Frown not, fret not for this truly shows that we’re a free people, with very creative minds formulating all kinds of propositions & proposals to add that bit more dimension.

  5. Hi June,

Welcome aboard SHC. It’s nice to learn that you’ve so many talents and willing to share with us. I’m trying to learn German as well if there’s anyone who’s willing to teach me. Right now, I’m only learning thru the internet which is just very simple vocab, it’ll be good if you’re already a fluent speaker in German. Maybe you might want to head a small group in SHC and any interested party can just join in and meet up for lessons? Just a thought. Do keep in touch. Kind regards, Lisa

  6. Hi Terence,

    Thanks for the prompt reply.

I had tried the SEARCH feature before putting on this comment No:2 above.
It doesn’t work well if I will to search for eg. X’ or Y’s s email address or his/her personal profile.

  7. Hi Terence,

Further to my above comment, i try the Search feature again and I see a very large no: of posts BUT with no profiles.

Please enlightened me and the ONLY way is to click on member’s profile and scroll tediously thru up and down as the members’ names are arranged in a random manner not alphabetical order .

Appreciate very much if you could hilight this “bug” to the webpg designers.

    Tks.again

  8. Hi June,

I am interested in your work with children and teaching English. Can you elaborate on what you mean by pooling our resources and form a service from SHC to people who might be interested to engage our services.

Share your thoughts, maybe we can take this further.
