  1. Hi Ivan,

What is this Ride of Silence about? Cannot talk during the ride? Somebody died? How long is the route? Must bring passport?

I am not on FB so I have to ask you here for the benefit of others who are also not on FB.

    Cheers

  2. lolzzz Charles,
Then, sorry leh! Can’t be help!
No laying of red-carpets here for this EC Event……
It’s self-help. Thank you for the interests shown……

  3. I have registered. Not sure of what is the nature of the ride so checked up http://www.rideofsilence.org/main.php for info. It is a worthwhile cause. Distance does not matter just that don’t know the starting point is a bit of concern as I usually commute on bike to the starting point need to know well ahead to plan the commuting route.

  4. Hi Jonathan,
    Yes, it’s a worthwhile cause indeed….
I came to know of this ride only recently….from a FB posting on LCSG & NS.
My father was also a fallen cyclist (or rather a victim) too….
He was knocked down by a military truck nearly 50 years ago….
In a way, I am riding knowing that at least someone (out there) bothered to remember all these fallen riders….that’s all.

p/s: Yes, I am also waiting for the updates on start point and ride route too. So far, still no news from the Ride of Silence Singapore Organizer on these. I guess the LTA, SPF etc are dragging their feet on the Approvals since there are NO Sponsors and NO Patrons for this event.

  5. For those interested in joining, here are the details taken from a LCSG FB Event Post.

    Additional comments.
We (LCSG) have only hear so much information and sharing as much as we can.
In an unlikely event the actual ROS is cancelled. LCSG will continue to do our own ROS to remember the injured and fallen riders. Thanks.

  6. Dear all,
I had participated in this event the past years.
I’m now waiting for the green light too… from my doctor to clear my knee injury issues.
Hope to see some familiar faces there.
    Cheers,
    JoyceT

  7. Wow Joyce!
Great to know that you had done this RoSS before…..
Anyway, please be fully/completely recovered from your knee injury before riding again….don’t bribe the doctor, OK!
At our age, cannot take risk….and sometimes, cannot believe the Green-Lights from the doctors too…..lolzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!
