Hannah Chiang – Profile

Hello, I am Hannah, 49, single.  I am a tutor for Pr levels.  I also have counseling experience.  I have been affiliated with www.goodsamaritanministries.org for 13 years.  I roller-blade (pro) almost every weekend at East Coast.  I am moderately active/fit.

I am not ‘religious’ although ordinarily, like in filling out forms, I’d put myself down as Christian.  I am also an individual that’s always evolving.  I just AM …

I’m going to visit Australia with my friend for 2 weeks in Nov. 2007.  I need accomodation for at least a few days and someone who knows where we could visit around the country.  I’ve lived with foreigners who have been open enough to explain ‘house rules’ and other personal or cultural practices, so I’m not a newbie in living with others overseas.  I will be most appreciative if my friend and I can get to know you through friendship in this way …

regards

Hannah Chiang

I will be 55 on Sept 11 this year, 2012! Been busy as anyone would be esp near/around exams, which is never far one from the other. Oct-Dec would be mths I'm less busy. My household is myself, my dog and a tenant. My hobbies are few: table tennis, roller blading, movies/tv (selectively), and taking my dog on walks.

  1. Hi Hannah Chiang,

Welcome to SHC! Good to know that you and your companion are visiting Ozland. It is a big place, where about are you both heading exactly?

    Regards, Edwin Chen

  2. This time Edwin ran very fast & beat me to extending our welcome.

    Welcome, Hannah, no less.

And I like the name……..almost like the typical answer my kid gives me when she cd simply say “yes”.

  3. Hi Hannah,

    Welcome to SHC,

I like the pro part about you and your travel concepts, and also that you skate on weekends at East coast.

A few other guys did voice the idea to make cycling/roller blading at the East Coast a weekly pastime, and i am gamed to do that.

So ,where , when to you skate at East Coast, and those who want to skate or cycle can join you? Sure like to learn a few tricks from you.

Ai Nee , you should look her up.

    Cheers,

  4. Hi Hannah,

Welcome to our very own East Coast Cycling gang. Every 3rd week of the month (is on a Sat)we, SHC cyclist will cycle, except Ronald Wi will roller blade at East Coast park. Great! now I have one “sifu” to look up to if I want to roller blade. Looking forward to meet you soon!

    Ah Nee.

  5. Hi Hannah,

You should also tell us more about what “Skating” packages you do offer for SHC members, as they i now they are many senior people who do want to learn but are quite hesitant for fear of injury to bones and pride and price too.

It is amazing you are still a Pro now, it does show SHC members should not stop whatever they enjoy doing and you earn something doing it.

Terence, here is another one for the Blue Helmet list of Personal services, not also forgetting that Jocelyn Soh still does offer Porcelain Painting and Art lessons.

    Cheers

  6. Hi Hannah,

Its a little secret that I did not reveal to this loving bunch of “young” EC beachcombers.I did ice skating, roller skating and snow/water skiing when I was a young hunk too!

    Cheers, Edwin Chen

  7. Hello, all,
I didn’t expect such a swift response! thanks!

I cycle to EC, around 8 or 9nish am. Park/lock my bike in an open area, and skate the whole length (I don’t know how many km) from where I park my bike to Fort Rd, then back to the other end at the NS Club, then back to my bike again. Along the way, I take my breakfast at the (rather expensive) Food Ctr there. Sometimes when it gets too hot, I stop by the ice cream van. My mobile: 9-489-3778, if anyone would like to join me this Sunday 19 Aug. Yes, everyone can learn the basics from me!

My partner and I intend to find someone living in Sydney, house us for 4 or 5 days, so we can plan for the rest of our 7 or 8 days there in various states. I would love to visit Gold Coast(is that the same as Sunshine Coast?)for the corals and reefs!

I like to affirm my students, so you can be assured you’ll get plenty of encouragement, along with the spills and thrills! Not broken bones, bc you’ll wear all the necessary protective gear and learn to fall forward.

I know of a lady in her 50s who wears a pillow on her butt and reads up on the activity! Pai Say no, gutsy yes!

  8. Hi Hannah,

Touring Australia is unlike touring our little island hometown. It is a big country. You have to narrow down on what you actually want or likely to cover. If your touch down is Sydney,my suggestion is that you pick up a guide/map from MPH or elsewhere and consider the number of attractions.Sydney itself has numerous great places and I wonder if your week there is sufficient.Day tours? Plenty!

Gold Coast(plenty of sunshine, you’ll get cooked if you don’t have sun block)is further north in the state of Queensland,if my geography is still alright, and that’s quite a road distance from New South Wales where Sydney is situated.

There are many affordable motels in these states, you and your travelling companion should have no problem at all if you are not fussy. Also, plenty of economical rooms/breakfast bunks available and with tolerable privacy.

In my younger days, I used to bump around with my VW dune buggy along this stretch of the eastern aussie coast line and sometimes even rumbled into nudists camps and it’s bare boobs galore and all in obscene sizes!

To really know Ozland, you need at least a month’s stay! Have fun!

  9. When I was in my 20s, I backpacked for 3 months in Australia and still feel it was not enough. So, Hannah, if you are intending to stay only for 2 weeks, then I agree with Edwin that you stick to one city and travel around the area with day tours. You can check online and there are plenty of wonderful Bed n Breakfast joints, guest houses.

  10. Hi Hannah

Nov is a good time as it’s the end of Spring and still quite cool. Let me know if you are interested in visiting Perth where I live. I can perhaps help to arrange some home accomodation and trips.

  18. Hi all,

Hannah is talking about her weekly exercise, cycling to East coast and skating all the way to NSRCC (even if you cycle may not catch up with her lah).

She is a Pro Skater, so better ask her for what skating lesson packages she has, so dont assume free lessons lah, maybe discount for SHC members can ask lah, or to watch her skate and do some tricks is ok lah.

Right Ai Nee ? But like to skate every week at the EAst caost ,if she dont mind us joining her either skating or cycling.

Around 9.30am is good not too early, can right Hannah ?

    Cheers,
    Allrounder

  19. Hi, all
I posted a response in Outdoor Activity re your response to learning to rollerblade. I’m not allowed to cut/paste, so, pls go there for my response. thanks.

  20. Hi, Joan
Thank you for your response. I have been to Perth, now, I want to visit the other side of the continent.

I need people from the East (Australia) who could show us where both the regular touristy places are and the ‘unbeaten path’. We’re both on a budget, and he has time constraint, it will be ok, even if we don’t cover 3/4 of what most people would.

    thanks again,
    Hannah
