    What is the time of the lessons. Dont really know where it is but can find the way.

    Would like to know the name of the instructor before signing up.

    Many thanks for your relentless effort to get us to learn dancing.

    I am lost. So many time I went into edit and come out okay.

    Lately this has happen again and again. So much so I fear going into orbit, I meant ‘edit’.

    How to remove white space? I tried deleting the white space but it get worse. I tried backspace, nothing happens!

Dan, I presumed that the problem of getg 2 much white space on d top wuld b likely due to i/o of typing a new post, u cut/paste frm sum script whereby sum hidden format is there but not visible till u post. I hv edited n deleted this space oredi but den, if I m going 2 explain here 2 u how I did it, I bet, u r definitely going 2b ‘tau kong kong liao’ so if u 1 2 learn more of this, pls call me n I will teach me step by step, ok…

    My sincere apologies for not being able to move my two left feet at D&D. So, I am signing up for this dance class. Perfect day, perfect time and perfect place. Come la… Actually, three months before D&D, I wanted to sign up for a class at Queenstown CC (in preparation for D&D), but the class was cancelled for lack of participants!

    Anybody knows where I can get a pair of dance shoes, the open-toe kind with straps? I don’t think my trotters can fit into those closed-toe type.

    Go to OG Orchard. Lots of dance shoes there. If no sale, a pair retails at abt. $32.90. Those shops solely selling dance shoes sell the same shoes for double the price. Good luck.

    Go to International Plaza (beside Burger King), they hv sales for those abit older design shoes selling at less than $25 lor.. If you cant find anything of your liking, can tailor made also, was told that not 2 expensive lor..

  25. Kemangan Dance Club info. Those who are members are still welcome to come for the every last sundays of the month for their practices and revision.The next sunday would be the 27th April. All are welcome. Non members need to pay a small sum of $3 and free 2 bottles mineral water.This message is issued because some of the members thought that as I did not continue with teaching in SHC, they could not come. The source they received was wrong, so please feel free to attend and I assure you we will do our utmost to guide you to be a better dancer.Maybe also you could join JAM nites to further improve advance moves.Later, we may extend to 2 sundays for month.In May, we will tentatively also organise the karaoke and dance from 3pm to 9.30 pm.All enquiries are welcome.

    good to hear you are finally taking up dancing. I buy my shoes from a shop in Katong Shopping Centre. It specialises in dancing shoes and has a wide variety of shoes to fit everybody. The prices are reasonable too.

    It’s on the first level, up the steps from the road level. As you enter, it’s on the left. I think it’s called the Silver River or Golden River, I’m not sure, but you can’t miss it. If you can’t find any to suit you in your area, you could try this shop.

    Shd you decide to hang up yr dancing shoes 1 day, pls dont……trade them for a pair of soccer boots, I hv the lobang & the boots are cheaper, only $24.90.

    Besides Friday, Ms Maggie Ho teaches on Sat (2-3pm) @ Clementi CC too. Try her Retro Medley (no partner required).

    Don’t procrastinate lah, start learning your dance steps now, otherwise, very difficult to be your dance partner. You stepped on my toes whilst dancing with you at the D&D.
    Dan is trying very hard in getting guys to join the RnR class, why dont you give him your support?

    I am attending the Mandarin class every 1st & 3rd Fridays/month. So, will attend RnR on other Fris, if this is alright with you.

    Danz is such a good Danz organiser, don’t make him an agoniser. You want him to organise one near Kembangan, Bedok, Chai Chee, aren’t the CC are near each other, all are in the east what. For your info, there is this Waltz ballroom class going on every Thursday now. Molly is currently attending this class. You may want to check it out. Happy waltzing……..

    I am off the whole day tomorrow. That should give me ample time to traverse the length and breadth of Singapore to hunt down that perfect pair of shoes that will get my feet to point and step and my body to twirl.

    I am determined not to end up borrowing Tim’s soccer boots.

    One is in the East and the other is in the west, you have to choose between East & West…..ha…ha…ha….headache lah. Tell you what to do, get the match-sticks from the match box and throw one stick as East and the other as West, throw untill finish, the last stick will be your final decision….mini mina more which is the best of all…. :(

    The dance class on Rock n Roll is starting this Friday at $35 for 8 lessons in Clementi CC. Unfortunately it clash with the Mandarin class.

    The Rhythm n Waltz class already start last Monday. Of couse you can choose to attend the one at Kembangan CC.

    As to whether we can get Miss Maggie Ho to teach, we can look into it!

    Thanks for the link to Silver River. As Orchard is nearer home, I went to OG first and managed to get a pair and so didn’t have to venture to Katong Shopping Centre.

    On the way back, it rained donkeys and monkeys and my shoes floated away, down the Clementi canal. Maybe they will re-surface at Steven’s BBQ and steamboat dinner.

    Hee hee…lame joke. Me and my shoes will be at dance class tomorrow.

  78. What a wonderful turnout for the start of our Rock n Roll class! Everyone came to learn except Lily, Dolly n Christina who will join us from next Friday. Susan Tan may join us after the 18 April.

    We really appreciate Miss Maggie Ho and her professionalism in teaching us senior citizen of SHC.

    Maggie was shocked to find that none of us are sporting silver hair but most still looking young. She even aptly suggest that Silverhair Club should be known as the ‘Evergreen Club’!

    Only Danz, Joy, n Wee Chin continue with the Square Rumba class. Cat is still complating to join!

  81. Cat, no need to contemplate so long la. It is on a Friday night and it continues after Rock and Roll. You have made your journey there already anyway. And it only costs $35, which is less than the cost of a Hanabi dinner. And you get to enjoy it over eight weeks, not one sitting. Join la.

    And best of all, after that, the four of us can gallop in Dan’s car (usually it doesn’t gallop, only last night, thanks to Wee Chin) to look for prata. Ooh la la!

    Oh yes, last night’s dance class was good. And my newly acquired dance shoes are virgin no more…hee.

    Whew! Thanks to Terence’s prompt action I am
    able to reply to you now. Was logged out and couldn’t write my post.

    Would love to have continued the rhumba class along with you all but as I will have to miss a few classes due to the fact that I will be leaving for the US, I have decided to just stick with the R n R class only.

    Fyi I am also in the ongoing Waltz and Rhythm class on Mondays too. Don’t want to have to remember too many steps at a time just in case me old brain decides to call it quits…hehe.

    Me also attending the Monday Rhythm n Waltze n Friday Rock n Roll n Rumba, hope i can remember all the steps too. Maybe a ton of gingko biloba n cordicep would helpa!

    Guess my brain does not have your capacity to go on overload haha. Seriously, I would prefer to ‘perfect’ my steps before I start taking on too many at one go.

    Besides, I already have the basic Rhumba square steps and the onus is on the guy to lead and twirl me around and we should finish a dance with no problem at all.

    So now you have to practise more, go stock up your gingko biloba and cordycept!

    The Rhythm n Waltz is now on the 2nd week for 8 lessons on a Monday night. Still open for anyone keen to learn dancing.

    The Rock n Roll and Square Rumba classes started last week. Coming Friday is the second session.

    You are welcome to join in one or both classes. Lily Ho, Dolly, Andrew Yeung n Christina will be joining us from the second week’

  94. Last night all 18 dancers turned up! Everyone got the chance to practice and practice.

    After the Rock n Rock n Roll class some of them went for ‘jams n butter’ at Singapore Recreation Club. Jessie Teo n Bill was able to sign Susan Chan, Gingko, Cat, James, William n Danz in.

    Another group went to Club 5 at the Park Royal Hotel at Beach Road. Veronique was there, not sure who are the rest.

    Dancers, now we don’t have to worry not having enough venues to practice! Other venues that we can go for ‘jams n Butter’ are Serangoon Gdns Country Club, Dance Floor at Safra Telok Blangah n Aranda at Downtown East!

    Taking up dancing now is very affordable to us as Silverhair members, so let make the most of it. No more excuses!
