Signing in as Guest

Some SilverHairs have suggested the use of nicknames (not related to the real names).  As this is a members’ website, we encourage the use of real names.

However, for the benefit of new members, and to encourage confidence, I have been convinced that we could have "Guest" participation.  Let’s give this a try.  Guests are allowed to write new Posts and Comments.  Guests cannot register to participate in events.

  1. Hi all,

Yes i guess signing in as a guest allows more freedom for expression, but a certain identity is also good. Some websites like sharejunction allows the use of nicknames such as “singaporegal”, “guru” etc, which adds to the fun of free blogging in a way , expressing quick views, without having to fear of being bomblasted if you happen to bite more than you can chew, but at least now, you can have the fun anytime to sing ‘I did it my way ‘ in Frank Sinatra words. So let us have some fun, blogging or role playing here but as usual no politics, MLM , and also ,sexsible too lah. Cheers for more free fun here, Terence.

  2. I am with Yew Kwong.

To me, SHC is a fun friendly place for oldies to continue living their lives as hippists, with as little inhibition to their expression as common sense dictates. So saying it in one’s own name as given by his parents will only add honour to his ancestry, but pls not to the extent of displaying his family tree or an altar here.

  3. Just like to say that with the internet is becoming an increasingly infinite medium, that reaches not only every corner of the world but also stays on forever somewhere, some place. If you do a search on “Goggle, Mozilla ,etc” , you will be surprised your name and every little phrase you have written appears long after you have forgotten what you wrote or why you wrote it. So I think using registered nicknames as practiced in most popular Forums like Share Junction, Share Investors, etc, as mentioned by Frankfunatic is a good option. With this option those who are not confident about being seen by everyone, or those who want to write spontateously can do so with any fear of repercussions of any kind from anywhere, anytime indefinitely. Cheers

  4. Terence,I must say that we had indeed had an enjoyable time with SHC members chit chatting at the MPH cafe.

And also the Lo Hei and jie char at Outram Park market. What is most important are the SHC members that I am comfortable and happy with.

Btw can you pls. update and register my name for the Annual D and Dance Day.
