  1. Hi Dan,

If its on a thursday and hopefully at Evans Road, I would like to join you. HAve not been playing for a long time but wouldn;t mind working up a sweat. Do keep me in the loop as soon as finalised yah?

    Thanks
    Catherine

  2. Hi Dan

I haven’t played badminton for a long time. I remember I used to enjoy playing it with my siblings when we were in school.

Saturday is a better time for me. I might consider joining the Thu group if it is at Toa Payoh, but I can probably be there at about 7pm.

  3. Dear Dan

I haven’t played badminton for a long time, but interested to pick up again. If it is on Monday or thursday & the venue is in Tampines Sports hall, then I will be joing the group. Do keep me informed once confirmed.

    Thank you
    Linda

  4. Badminton confirmed on 15th August (Wednesday) at Spe Sports Hall.

    Court 06 – 6:00 pm – 08:00pm.

    Court 07 – 6:00 pm – 08:00 pm

Badminton also confirmed on 19th August (Sunday) at Clementi Sports Hall.

    Court 01 – 09:00 am – 11:00 am

    Court 03 – 09:00 am – 10:00 am.

Those intending to sweat it out kindly inform me. All the booking are fully paid for. We will all chip in equally. I will bring the shuttlecocks and rackets if you hide your’st in the attic or misplaced them.

As this is the first affair we have only 2 hours session. If the response is good I could book up to 3 – 4 hours sessions!

  5. Dan / Terence,

I am fine with Tampines & Toa Payoh Sport Halls and ideally on wkends. Will bring my rackets & join sunday week (19/08)’s stretching at Clementi.

You also said “Those interested to be coach let me know as I can get Lee Ah Ngoh who is available”.

Lee was once Spore’s badminton champ so even I want to be coach, I wd seek lesser lights to coach. (Heee, we hv a Lee A Nee…..maybe she is Lee A Ngo’s nemesis?)

Btw, you seem to hv an inalienable love for “affair” even if it’s a fleeting “only 2 hours session”.

Still, many thanks for giving us this affair & session, no less.

  6. Hi,

If its at Tampines and on mondays, i will be available. Pls include me.

Kindly someone tell me how to go to SPE from Pasir Ris MRT station. Very sua ku, dont even know where is SPE.

    Regards
    Julie

  7. Hi Julie, SPE is at the former University of Spore Bt Timah campus, along Bt Timah Rd in the stretch btwn Farrer Rd & Stevens Rd. I dont know what the public tpt services fr tampenis to that place are but at least bus 66 fr bedok does ply that route..

  8. Hi CYeo, Joy,Terence.Tim,Julie, glad to hear all of you are coming to sweat it out.Spe is where the former NUS but now the TTC is situated. If you are still not clear I can pick you at Newton MRT at 5.45pm.

Sorry, could not get booking on Monday and Thursday as the courts are taken up.Can’t deny that I like the term ‘affairs of the heart rather than having a session of bedminton’.

  9. Hahaha, Dan, I like yr stark honesty but shd you kena stuck 1 day and cant get out of this hearty affair also let me know hor & I’ll get you to reverse yr bedminton on-mint-bed to forget yr blues (& blacks fr her racket smashes).

  10. Hi all

Hymm will be glad to join in, last time i played was 5 years ago after a long spell too, but still can return a 15-0 game if playing with a novice.

So those who want to sweat it out, can surely do that , or if you can sweat me out too that will be good. When ? where ?

    Cheers,
    Allrounder

  11. 15-0…….that’s like a rugby score. Like that how to play with you unless you use the long end of the racket then we might stand a chance.

  12. Dear fellow shuttlers

For those who are still scratching their heads, SPE stands for School of Physical Education and it is part of NIE (National Institute of Education).

Looks like it is nearer to walk in from Dunearn Road than Farrer Road.

  13. Hi Dan,
We haven’t played badminton for a long time, but interested to pick up.If it is in Tampines Sports Hall, then Cberyl and I will be joining the group.Do keep me informed once confirmed. Thank you.

  14. Kampong Ubi CC is less than 5 minutes walk from the Eunos MRT station. I have walked past it before and noticed people playing badminton there. I can always check out the rates, etc if anyone is interested in this venue.

  15. Dear Dan/Terence

Shirley had made a good suggestion of Kampung Ubi CC. Please count me in if you can consider this venue for another session in the East district.

    Eager learner
    Linda

  16. Thanks Dan, for offering to pick me up at Newton but would be able to make it there as I leave my office in Pasir Ris at 5.30 pm.

    Will join you another time.

  17. Dan, you might want to tabulate a list of who’s coming on 15 Aug 07 (Wed) and who’s coming on 19 Aug 07 (Sun).

I am planning to go on Sun, provided I have someone of void deck standard to play with me. Don’t want to try anybody’s patience.

  18. Dan, shd there be any change to sunday 1908’s badminton, pls let us know otherwise I’ll be at clementi sports hall @ 9 a.m. and leaving straight at 11 a.m. latest for a date with Patrick @ CSC bt buttock. Tks.

  19. June C, there’a a more current thread somewhere in this forum, with the next game sites at Yishun tonite and Tampines Safra this sunday 2/9 btwn 5-7 p.m., early enough to finish the game, hv dinner, brush teeth, gargle, bathe, wash away the soap, dry up and then watch EPL.

  20. Dear Dan,

Is there another badminton session coming up?? If so, please post the details. Since the response is so poor on Sunday morning, hopefully it will be different this time. As said before, if you wish to scrap badminton, please feel free to do so.

    Thank you.
