  • Beach Games (by game master – Yat Sing)
  • Swimming, Sun-bathing, Dancing, Card Games or just relax, ………. anything goes

7 – 10pm     Dinner Time   –   Indoor

  • Buffet dinner  –  Menu :
  • Fresh Garden Salad, Chicken Dopiyaza, Fish Masala, Dal Tarka, Vegetable Jalfrezi, Aloo Gobi, Naan, Steamed White Rice, Fried Papadum and Dessert – Kheer.
  • Free flow of Soft drinks
  • Alcohol – limited (by bar tender – Ivan Lim)
  • Dancing intermittent with Karaoke (by DJ – Jeffrey Gan with his latest sound system)

How to find us : 

  • By LRT – get off at the Beach Station and walk towards Palawan Beach.  We are next to KouFu Food Court.
  • By ‘Free Hop-on Hop-off’ Sentosa tram/trolley – get off at the Palawan Beach Stop.
  • By Car – park at Palawan Beach open carpark @ $3 for 8 hours;  or park at Beach carpark (covered carpark) @ $5 for 1st 4 hours (from 3 – 7pm) and $2 per entry after 7pm.

Rest assured there will NOT be any video clips made for public websites but photos will be posted in SHC website for members viewing.  Those who do not wish their face to appear in SHC website, kindly refrain from taking group photos as it is not fair to others in the group to have to have their pictures censored because of you.

When I was about 18 years old, I use to go camping at Changi Beach just behind where the British Army had a Survival School. behind the school, this stretch of beach was quite secluded. Sometimes we would organize Beach Parties there. By about 2 am, after most of the guests have gone home, a few of us guys would go ‘skinny dipping’. The few girls that were still there would pretend not to watch when we strip but after we get into the water they would shout comments at us from the beach.  I still remember 2 comments even up till today.

  • “Beware of the fishes, they might mistaken yours for a big worm”
  • ‘Don’t shake it more than 3 times…….it is call masturbation”

I am organizing our August  monthly meeting at  Palawan Beach, Santosa.  It will be a Beach Party, but we will not go ‘skinny dipping’ because at our age, I think we will look gross. Even the police would not want us in their station. They will put us straight into the lunatic asylum. I know this will not stop some of you from doing it.

My friend who owns Samudar Indian Restaurant at Palawan beach in Santosa has agreed to let us use the Restaurant on Saturday 21st August.  The restaurant has an alfresco dining area and an aircon dining hall. It can accommodate 200 people.  There are showers on the beach in front of the restaurant and changing facilities nearby.

We will start the party at 3pm. You can swim, play with balls, build sand castle or just enjoy the sea breeze. I need volunteers to organize a few beach games. For those who prefer to stay indoor, you can relax and talk or play board games.   At 7 pm we will have Indian Buffet.  The alfresco dining area which is on a wooden deck and the aircon dinning hall are both very suitable for dancing. You can dance anywhere at any time. You can also do it at the beach but we have to organize sound system outside. You can also pretend to be a teenager on your first date and bring a partner to the bush….there are many dark bushes but tissues are not provided. If you want to sing KOK we have to organize our own portable system because the Restaurant have no KOK licence. We leave the Restaurant at 10pm but you can stay at the beach as long as you like.

Public transport to Palawan Beach is by LRT from VIVO City. It cost $3. Those who drive, pay $7 per car regardless of the number of passengers. The buffet would cost $20 per head.  We will provide tit-bits from the collection of $5 each from those who pay after 31st July.  Those of us who are there in the afternoon should at least buy a drink from the Restaurant to help them pay their staff who would serve you.The restaurant would waive corkage charge for alcoholic drinks we bring. But please don’t bring any other outside food or drinks into their Restaurant.

Dress code will be ‘as little as possible’.  Opportunity for you to show your legs, tummy and butts,  if they are still presentable. I will bring some fig leaves for those who want to be like Adam and Eve.

Now I need the following volunteers

  1. Treasurer to collect the $20 $25 from every participant even if you don’t want to eat the buffet.
  2. Bouncer to throw out those who didn’t pay.
  3. Member registration – Irene Poh has volunteered
  4. Many beach game organizers.
  5. A disco King or Queen to organize the dancing and provide the music CD. They do have a sound system in the Restaurant.
  6. A KOK King/Queen to organize the singing.
  7. And of course, as many ‘gilah’ participants as possible to make it fun.
  8. Also new members, you can come fully clothed to make new friends.
  9. Matchmakers to make sure no one is left alone at this party
  10. Me???…….    I oversee lah.  Girls, remember to wear skimpy clothes, so that I have something to see.

  48. For all you water babies, there is no need to worry about the water. The life guard watch tower is just outside the reataurant and the beach petrol office is next next to us.There will be a young handsome professional lifeguard seated on top of the tower that afternoon. My only fear is that he may be distracted by us and cannnot do his work.

    If something happen to you young ladies and the lifeguard have to execute mouth to mouth, I wander who is the lucky one. You or him?

    Maybe it’s time to request the web administrator to upgrade it to the current version which is 3.0

    I am watching my Beach Party post, but today business is no good. Only Richard W to add, so let me give you my opinion about computer software(not IT).
    To me, computer softewares are like women.
    The one we have at home may be old, ugly and have its quirks like not liking red ink, but they have served us well and for a long time. They don’t abandon us when we are down and always produce as long as you know which button to press.
    If you trade them in for new younger softwares, there are risk because we don’t really know how well they work. New softwares may have many new features, but at our age it is difficult to use them all. New softwares may be expensive to service and need constant care to be realiable, especially for old users. With modern technology, new softwares tend to connect all over the place and bring back viruses and god knows what other deseases. We may also end up carrying someone else’s baby.
    I think older reliable softwares may be a good alternative?

    I, for one, can’t keep up with the neverending new gadgets that pop up all the time. Still have my faithful few years old cell phone which make people gag as they are so into the latest whatever. That said, I do stay informed and am considering a new cell phone which I like; no, not the latest i 4 thing. Not interested.

    As for this club, I am happy with the features provided as per your #72 comment; same sentiments.

    It’s Ok with old cell phone (hardware) as long as u can keep the “softwares” up-dated… which are 99% FOC.
    I am with nokia since day 1. Currently, still holding on 2 my E90 – great phone. So sad that the hardware part is really worned out but the softwares side are OK/up-to-date.
    So, in essence, although our body (hardware) is getting “worned-out”, we are OK as long as our soul(s) [softwares] are updated ….. and warm!
    But hor! If u read TS’s post #74 again, I think the post have double and perhaps triple meaning with references to the word “SOFTWARE(s)”……hahahahaha!

    Ive managed to resolve the numbering sequence.
    Type in the first name and click on to the numbering bullet, press enter, type in the next name and so on.

    Earlier I’ve encountered the same issue in my Kelong post.

    You may face another problem like, say, after #28, the bullet in the next name turns into a dot.
    place the cursor in the name with the dot and click onto the numbering bullet and repeat the same sequence.
    It should work.

    That is why I ask Dolly to be the Bouncer and she will bring her ‘Tua Árm Pai’ boyfriend. They are both enthusiastic about protecting SHC image. Even I am scared.

    I think you miss my point.
    If this function is organised solely for party goers, I
    agree all shall pay and take the food arranged.

    But if you want to include the monthly gathering, then
    provision should be given that this group of people will
    come and go at any time, and payment should be on a per
    order (ala carte) basis.

    Besides the restaurant payment, organising a gathering in Sentosa
    on a weekend, would also requires the member to jostle
    with the holiday crowd which is another minus point.
    On top of that, there’s an entrance fee to take into account.

    So I think the committee should look into all these factors
    before deciding whether to combine SHC monthly meeting
    with other theme events.

It is very noble for TS 2 liaise with his contact to get this kind of deal 4 us 2 enjoy our dinner without much hassle, since u had also mentioned abt weekend crowd den we sure 2 guarantee seat available based on this arrangement, tio bo?

    You oredi mentioned dat there will be an entrance fee imposed hence I dont think that those keen to attend monthly gathering or party will just come n go kind of siutation, right? Let not worry 2 much abt other minor minus points cos we hv many plus points and let EO have d final say as Terence had emphasized this point.

    Moreover, at times, ala carte might cost more than $20 as service charge and GST will be imposed. From this case, I am sure that we only need to pay $20nett and no other worry.

    If everyone are going to count to their last penny worth in every events that they are attending den I am dead sure that we will have hard time finding voluntary EOs for any kind of events being organised in the pipeline.

    I always saluate to all voluntary EOs in our SHC circle so that each and every members will sure to meet up eventually.. 3 cheers to these hardworking EOs and/or ECs.

    As for the crowdin Santosa on Saturday, you will find them mostly in the casino or at tourist sites. Not many people goes swimming. I can assure you will not bum into any big boobs that may cause you distress.
    Yes, you have to take into account the $3 entrance fee and the $20 buffet and weigh it against the location and company you are with. If it is not worth $23 and coming to $28 soon, than stay at home.
    Sorry I forgot to have a committeefor this massive undertaking. I have good volunteerswho laugh, party and do their job. I am dieing to hug them if only they allow me.

    As far as I am concern, Soakie is the ‘ófficial’ photographer. I know her well enough, that she has enough brain to understand what is privacy and have confident that she will excercise discretion when publishing her photos in SHC website.

    To all photographers at the Beach Party. You are welcome to take pictures for your private use but pleased seek the respective persons permission before publishing their images in any public forum.

    Incidentally, let me boast to you that I am quite good at film editing and production. It was an old hobby of mine. In fact, I still have some equipment to give away. But most of my productions are private and the others cannot be shown in public because of the subject matter.

    With the Founder’s encouragement now, you are again willing to do this – good for you. It could be Tian Soo or even Sockie herself to offer this service and I will still be disturbed by the whole shit and say the same thing. Just so you know.

    So Tian Soo darling, I will not be there at your party though I will be in town. I cannot condone something illegal as if those who are really upset about whatever compilation (not James’ fault) have no choice but to put up with it and there is no lawsuit issue.

    You can hop on the free shuttle ride to Resorts World Sentosa n den take the express train, alight at 2nd stop (Beach stn) for this beach party. I had tried this n this way, no nid 2 pay entrance fee oso.

    Doe I saw other locations’ pick up, e.g. Orchid Road, International Plaza but I am unable to get more info on this. However, I have sum info 4 tose residing in the west side of SG.

    Details as follows:

    Bus stop opp Tiong Bahru Plaza (TBP), starts 10.00am at every half hourly interval, last shuttle end at 12.00mn and last shuttle from Resort to TBP ends at 2.10am. Travelling time is approx 20mins.

    Jurong East (JE) MRT outside Popular Book Store starts from 10.00am (1hr interval), last shuttle ended at 12mn and last shuttle from Resorts ends at 2.20am. Trvl time abt 40mins.

    Ang Mo Kio Bus Stop opp Blk 710, Ave 8) starts from 10.00am (half hour interval) n followed 2 stop at Bishan MRT Bus stop at 10.10am. Last shuttle ends at 12.00mn n 12.10mn respectively. Last shuttle from Resort ended at 2.20am. Travel time 40mins.

    Tampines MRT (opp Tampines 1) starts from 10.00am (half hour interval) and last shuttle ends at 1200mn. Last shuttle from Resort ended at 2.15am. Travelling time 45mins

    Bus stop outside Lot 1 (CCK Ave 4) starts from 10.00am (1hr interval) n continues to Bus stop outside Bt Panjang Plaza 10.10am. Last shuttles end at 12.00mn and 12.10am respectively. Last shuttle from Resort ended at 2.15am. Time travels abt 40mins.

    Free shuttle RWS at 1/2 h intervals at TB, Orc or Tampines but if one shui misses it when you just arrived , it will be 1h interval.

    I don’t think I will be patient enough to stand idle and wait for 1h interval for the free RWS bus.

    I will take the LRT monorail to Palawan Beach Station instead. See you all soon.

  308. Thanks Tian Soo for a great day at the beach. There were a good number of exciting games conducted by Yat Sing.

    The best part of the evening was where quite a few of us when onstage to sing the karoeke songs. This club have plenty of kind hearted friend. Some who could not get the pitch right was help by some thoughtful one who came along to help out.

    We envy you TS for song you sang so well with all the beautiful girls coming up to the stage, pampering you and taking in your serenading. I was glad to have Peng Peng, Ivan and Hou Chong who came on stage to help me when I could not get the right pitch. So understanding and kind of all of you. But the night was forgettable when I was booted off for my bad singing!

    of the past with family and kids pinicking at Changi
    Beach.
    Thanks to E.O.Tian Soo humorous host this wonderful
    beach party has come about.
    Your singing has brought joy to us, you have versatile
    talent.
    Great to see members singing karaok and dancing which
    created wonderful ambience.
    Appreciation must also be given to the volunteers who
    help to make this event a success,especially the
    photographer Sockie busy capturing candid pictures.

    I would have more photos up if not for Ah-Long Karen….think she collected money until her hands ‘choong’ so cannot hold cameara steady in her hands and so produced some very ‘abstract’ shots hahahaha…we took 400+ photos in total but some have to be censored in one way or another by request and discretion so we finally ended up with 200+…on the brighter side is it makes my editing a lot easier :0)

    TS, dor sponsorong rentalof the K’ok system the least we can do was to accord you with some ‘special’ treatment ya.

    The partying would have gone on all night if not for the time constrain…….like Caroline said the minute we heard $400 for an hour extension, we all chaboot as fast as our legs could carry us hahahahaha

    If all of us can sing to the perfect pitch, we would not be singing to a box but to sell out audiences liao lah. The fun in K’ok is we can ‘murder’ a song many times over with no fear of going jail kekekekekeke…..all that matters is you did it YOUR way with help from friends and have fun doing it :0)

    In most all K’ok session we would have people who are the shy, the modest, the bold and the how lian ones….some who would not even touch the mic with a 10 foot pole and some would have their hands glued to the mic…..the ‘Q’ obeyer vs the ‘Q’ breaker. Some will get encore request and some an APB order, some will get rescued and some a kick in the butt but the most important thing is we leave all these behind at the end of the day until we meet again another day and the ‘battle’ begins again hahahahaha

    Sooo till we all meet again….

    I know most poeple are anxious to see their photos right after the function and this time round all the photos were taken with my 2 cameras so it wa easier for me to download them straight to my PC.

    The editting was also made easier because like Karen said some people were intoxicated by te alcohol so they looked blur blur and some were so blur that I no need to check before deleting quite a few of them, so only have to burn 2 nights of mid-night oil to finish these.

    Steven #317 …. taking photo is the easy bit but sorting out the good pics from the bad ones and duplicate shots and editing does takes up lots of time. I’ve been asked not to spend too much time on editing but I guess some habits are hard to kick but I guess I will have to slowly kick this habit.

    However I only edit those photos taken by me and not those sent in by other members as I do not have the ‘right’ to edit without the owner’s permission….sooooo maybe in future I should leave my camera at home and I will have no photos to edit :0)
