Travel thoughts

Hi All SHC members

Just to share some thoughts of travel.

For those who love to travel and don’t have a companion, are they interested in joining some travel club for singles or small group travel that can take care of things like accomodation, flight fares. I’m asking this as for travel discounts, there must be twin sharing accomodation and 2 to go airfares etc. Sometimes one may want to travel at a short notice or is doing a F & E travel.

If I’m making a trip by myself I don’t mind cutting costs if a travel club can assist with matching travel plans of other members who are planning trips alone. Can SHC help in this aspect?

Getaway (Perth)

Hi All

I’ve managd to book a self-contained chalet in January costing AUD $90/night for maximum 8 people. It’s very reasonable rate to do a spot of golfing and fishing down south of Perth. If the place is ideal I will recommend it to those who wish to get away from Singapore to have a break in Perth. Read my comments in January.

Wishing all A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Golf in Perth

Hi All

Today I went to play golf at SupaGolf in Swan Valley using large clubsand had lunch afterwards. Cost of lunch was very reasonable. It was my 1st visit to the place and then we stopped at Margaret River Chocolate Factory to buy fudge, jam and pickles. There’s no need to travel down to Margaret River region to do so.

So those interested in golf, I can help to arrange  a game, even coaching with a golf pro, if you wish.

Getaway to Perth

Hi All SHC members

I live in Perth and travel back to Singapore at least once a year. I will be in Singapore again in April next year. I am happy to know some of you whom I met with during my trips back.

I am interested in exploring the regions around Perth eg Margaret River, Albany, New Norcia, Kalbarri to do farmstays, fishing, golfing, visiting wineries, etc. I am wondering if there are some of you who are interested in doing self-drives in Australia mainly around Western Australia. If so, perhaps we can travel together or form a sort of convoy to explore places or do things.

Perhaps Mary who also lives in Perth may join in and help to arrange the activities.

Japan Travel

Hi All

I hope to visit Japan at mid/end Apr next year enroute to Michigan from Singapore. I was told that cherry blossoms at the time can be seen in the north and that they flower as early as Feb in the south.. I’m thinking of visiting Tohoku region in Honshu. At the moment adverts for package tours are for up to end Mar travel.

I intend to fly to Tokyo and stay a few nights and then sighsee around. I welcome anyone interested in travelling along or with information about accomodation etc.

Return to Perth

Hi All

Just got back from Singapore. Met with a few SHCs to talk about wildflower tours and retirement in general. Am making a 3 day self-drive trip and hope to see some wildflowers and do a spot of fishing up north of Perth.

Perhaps some of you may wish to visit Perth and do some things here. Let me know if you need some assistance.

Regards to all

Perth Wildflowers

Hi

Is anyone keen to join me on a tour to see wildflowers down in Western Australia? I’m particularly interested in a).

These wildflower tours can range from:a) a day tour on 18 Sep that costs AUD 55 per person b) 3D/2N from 7 – 9 Sep for AUD 588 pp or c) 4D/3N from 13-16 Sep for AUD 786. These are conducted by a local tour agency. I have joined a day crayfish tour a few months back and thoroughly enjoyed it and felt that it was good value for money.

You can also opt to do other things while you are in Perth either, free and easy on your own or with some help from me to arrange some activities for you. For those who think the b) and c) I’m also thinking of arranging one self-drive tour to save some costs. Let me know directly if you wish to join in.
