The 2nd ramble "PLR-2" came to past in August 2008; the trial ended at Turf City. Let’s Ramble On to another part of Singapore!…….
The terrain is not too rugged. A grassland fringed by trees; though slopes are gradual there might be little or no defined foot holds ie., could be a little slippery so, proper footwear is encouraged.
This segment has only 1 obstacle which might provide a wee challenge.
The options are:
1) get down & walk a U-shaped DRAIN. Not wide canals. Whilst you are crossing, hope no water gushes out on you…. heehehe
2) leap across, ensure you land on the narrow ledge (at most, your head will hit not a wall but the huge waterpipe "OUCH!" the echos ‘gong…ng….ng’! ringing in your ears for a couple of secs.
3) perhaps, there is another way to cross over? we shall see…..
After passing through Bukit Panjang Park, we shall end the walk with dinner at a big coffeshop (Blk 272) where a variety of food awaits you.
WALK ENDS: Blk 272 Bangkit Road, off Bt Pangjang Rd.
LRT Station: Bangkit.
Bus Services along Bt Panjang Rd: 171, 187, 190, 700, 960, 963.

Background of this Trial:
What is this PipeLine Ramble?" Most of you would know that a water
pipeline runs from Johor to Singapore but have anybody thought to trace the route"?
The entire trail of approx 21 km will take around 8 to 9hours! We had
intended to introduce this trail in 3 separate segments but after the 1st ramble; to truly enjoy this exciting, challenging trail it has now been segmented into 4 parts.
Each part of the route has a different terrain and each opens up a part of Singapore seldom seen.
1st segment from Pearl’s Hill to Farrer Road, Apr08.
2nd segment from Farrer Road to Turf City, Aug08 (the pixs are found in
the same post dd 23July08).
