Pauline Koo – Intro

I’m Pauline Koo presently working full time as a nurse in a clinic. Hence, I
have very little precious time left for activities much as I like to join you
all. I like to join group activities, maybe one day when I take a day off from
my work, I’ll meet up with you people. I’ll look through your activities and
let you know. Sometimes, your venue is inconvenient for me as I’m staying in
Jurong East.

Cheers,

Pauline

Ghost Month

Last year I had the opportunity of watching a ‘Ker Tai’ performance at Choa Chu Kang cemetery. There were 3 lorries decorated with brighly coloured lights and each had its own sound system. The performers were beautiful girls with little cloths. They sing on top of the lorries while the convoy parades among the tombs in the cemetery. I knew then that ghost are horny and they will remain quiet if we satisfy them at their premises.

I am looking out for them this month. I am also horny.

Do you believe in ghost? I have never seen one despite looking out for them. The nearest I  get to them is someone who knows someone who have seen one.

During this month,  they are suppost to be all over Singapore, so I am watchful….for the ghost, not the scantily dressed ‘Ker Tai’ singers.

Wendy Koh – Introduction

Hi everybody at SHC.

I have just joined SHC and so far I took part in only one event, that dance
nite at Paya Lebar Kovan CC. I read about the dance practice at Braddell
and drama classes with Pearl Wong and I would like to participate in these
activities but do not know the where and when. Can someone fill me in?

I am a retiree in my late fifties. I have many interests like swimming,
cooking, housekeeping, travelling and cross-stitching. Dancing and drama
are interesting to me and I hope to be able to them

Monthly walk: Bishan to Potong Pasir

THIS POST is posted on behalf of Charles Wee who is away;  he will be back to lead this walk!     emoticon

Date    13th August , Saturday 4.30pm

Duration: approx 2.5 – 3hrs, depending on pace.

Meet:    Near taxi stand at Bishan Road  (just outside Bishan MRT)

Walk leaders:  Charles Wee & ChristinaCL Chan

After our strenuous railway walk last month, we shall now do an easy  walk for August.
The Walk begins from Bishan MRT towards the nearby Sports Complex ,  along a canal which is actually the beginning of the Kallang River .

This walking route which ends at Potong Pasir , takes us  past the Bishan MRT depot, underneath the CTE , across the overhead bridge at Braddel Road  and towards St Andrew’s School.

On the way, if lady luck smiles on us,  we  may spot some cranes feeding in the "Sungei"/river and some small time fishermen hoping to get a bigger "catch"  than what is possible.

Nearer to Potong Pasir,  the canal broadens into a river. The scenery here is very peaceful and picturesque,,,,  R  E  L  A  X  I  N  G !   Try your photographing skills  to capture somebeautiful shots!  emoticon

We will soon reach the well known Sri Sivadurga temple after crossing the bridge over the river.  Opposite the temple is a coffee shop, famous for its freshly made  paos and siewmais.  Ideal for a short  Rest&Refreshment before we proceed to Potong Pasir MRT where we will end our walk.

The Walk Team EOs:  Charles Wee, Veronica Wong, Mary Tan, Jeffrey Lim, Joyce Tan, Serene Low,Conrad Tang and ChristinaCL Chan.

Tan Eng Kiat – Introduction

Hi

I actually joined the SHC club 4 years ago at the age of 42, but realised
that member must be above 45. Today received an email from SHC and thought
perhaps it is time to introduce myself and see if I can get participate in many
of the interesting activities.

I hope to spend more quality time with family, meet old friends and
make new friends. Like to cycle, play golf, jogging, swimming etc. Not sure if
my introduction will get published anyway let’s give a try.

Regards

Kiat

Joe Leow – Intro

Yes, I would like to be introduced to fellow SHCians.

I’m 62 yrs young, having worked in the Hotel Industry and American MNCs and
am semi-retired.  Time and activities had always been centered around
family and kids until, unfortunately, recently divorced. As a result, am
beginning to feel a bit lonely and even deserted.

Interest includes: traveling, reading, swimming, yoga, Karaoke and social
dancing.  Every Thurs is now spent learning ballroom Waltz with a dance
group at Paya Lebar Kovan cc.

Would like to travel and dance into my twilight yrs! Cheers.
