SHC Calendar Updates

KIND ATTENTION OF ALL SHC MEMBERS
THIS POST IS CREATED SOLELY FOR THE PURPOSE UPDATING OF SHC WEB CALENDAR. PLS REFRAIN OTHER COMMENTS HERE.  THANK YOU.

Hi All,

As some of you might have noticed that SHC Calendar have been updated to the latest.  Sorry for the much delay as both Terence and me had been trying to problem fix as we are unable to upload the updated calendar since the last couple of weeks.

During my updating of these events, I had noticed that most of the post title stated are too long which I find them hard to update into the SHC Calendar.

Hence, after getting approval from the Founder, I would appreciate each and everyone of you will abide to the following so that I can update without much changing.

  1. Keep the title of the event to be short and precise, e.g. SHC D&D, Talentime, Games Day, etc, etc.
  2. All detailed info can be stated in the post itself, e.g. content of event, cost, organiser, coordinator or EO, timing
  3. Event will not be posted in SHC calendar if there are outsider involved.
  4. In the case of poor response of attendance and need to be cancelled, pls keep us posted so that we can strike off this event from the calendar listing.
  5. If at times, event are not intentionally left out, pls write me an email (dlgummy@hotmail.com) to remind me so that I can update accordingly.

Pls do not hesitate to give any other comts here which one way or another will be great help to this SHC calendar.

SHC Calendar Update… Dolly

  • ANee, Lina Ng, Sue Chang and Dolly will be coordinator from Han’s Cafe to Pearls Centre after the gathering.
  • Yew Kwong will be the coordinator to meet up members at Outram MRT from 7.45pm – 8.00pm.  Pls be punctual.
  • Late comers after 8.00pm, pls go directly to the Thai Disco
  • For those driving, car park rate at Pearls Centre after 5pm is $2.50/entry
  • A gentle reminder: Ladies, as Ladies Nite will starts only 9.00pm, so please at least order 1 drink (bar price) during 8 – 9pm. OK.
  • +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

UPDATES – April 14’08

I had make a reservation for 25paxs to be there ard 8.15pm onwards.  However, kindly ntoe that from 7pm – 9pm, there is no ladies nite offer, i.e no free housepour.  Hence, Ladies, pls order at least 1 drink for a start since they will be on bar price which is not expensive at all considering the fact that after 9pm, it’s free all the way to 2am.  No reservation at all on/after 9pm at all as they are expecting much crowd since it is a Ladies Nite.

Sorry, Ladies, if you are not ordering any dirink before 9pm, suggest that you come in only slightly after 9pm and there might not have any seats available ok.  Have to be fair to those who pay for the drinks.

For those not too sure where is the venue and attending the SHC monthly gathering at Han’s Cafe, we will walk together to this as there is no bus service going there.  Will try to appoint coordinators to help out.

For those not going for the mthly gathering, pls meet at Outram MRT outside entrance facing direction to Eu Tong Seng Street, will arrange coordinators to meet you there at 8.00pm.  Pls let me know who will be there so that we can do a headcount.  Nevertheless, those who are going on their own, pls feel free to contact me.  Email me at dlgummy@hotmail.com for my mobile contact. emoticon

Hi All,
Glad to know that the all responses for this good is so overwhelming for those who had missed out the 2008 DnD and those who still felt that you hv not got enough dancing.  Details as follows:

Venue: Narcissus Thai Disco/Live Band (100 Eu Tong Sen Street #04-01 Pearl Centre)  www.narcissus.sg
Date: Thu, 17 Apr ’08 (Ladies nite = Free flow of housepour fro 9pm – 2am)emoticon
Operating hour: 7.00am – 3.am (of cos, we can choose to leave early la)emoticon

For guys, all drinks will be on bar price and best still, there is happy hours from 7pm – 9pm

Seating arrangement is ard 6-8pax in each table but I supposed it should be alright to sit 10paxs, I will check if we are able to reserve at least 2 tables for that nite as I m not sure if we are able to do during Ladies Nite.  Resv, call 94563292 after 3pm.

Annual Games Day, 20 Oct 2007

FINAL UPDATE : CLOSING OF EVENT

All SHC Members…. SHC Games 2007 have finally closed its curtain with many smiles and lots of laughters from those who attend the event at CSC @ Bt Batok.  Despite of the heavy downpour, turnout was almost 90% and some of those not registered also turned up to support this event.

Games Day started as early as 8.00am as the committee members busy to do up the banner to officiate the event at the foyer area.  It was later raining dogs and cats and most of us were quite doubtful if we can expect a 50% turnout.  To our relief, we saw group of member arriving around 8.30am thus making us very happy indeed.  By 8.45am, registration hit a good 70% turnout.

5stones, scrabble and chaptek competition started off.. Both 5stones and chaptek had more players than original registered players as many members signed up to take up the challenge on the spot.. It was a indeed a great fun playing the games of our day… More members turned out as rain quietly left us to enjoy  :)

Bowling started off abit late as amendment of names need to be corrected but nevertheless members got their hands on bowling.. Wow wow.. so many hidden talents but also lots of fun and laughters as many members are first time bowlers (especially in the ladies’), rolling away in longkang but still happy cos they really enjoyed this…  Games ended around 12.45pm.  After that, all members proceeded to the foyer area for the Grand finale and prize presentation.

Limbo rock music was on the air and members were encouraged to limbo their ways thru.. of cos, to certain height level only la.. if not, alot of cracking sound can be heard.. hehehehe… Participation for this event was spontaneous and one can see that almost everyone was taking part in this… Prize presentation was conducted after the limbo rock event and the winners in each categories is summarized as below:

Champion for Scrabble : Joyce Tan

Champion for Chaptek : Molly Chua      Runner Up : Ronald Lee

Champion for Bowling (Men)  : Tim Liu       Runner Up : Philip Puspalm
Champion for Bowling (Ladies) : Ann Chee     Runner Up : Evelyn Ong

Champion for 5 Stones : Kwong Wah (Never knew that Guy can played this better than Ladies leh)

Longkang Queen winner from Cycling Group : Susan Chang

Most Popular Limbo Rock Member : Rene Leong

The organising committees would like to express our greatest thanks to members who have sponsored gifts
1) Dan Huang
2) Grace Wong
3) Terence Seah
4) Tim Liu
5) Yew Kwong

Till we will meet again in next SHC Games Day… Bye Bye :)emoticon

Tea Party

Hi SHCians. I will be holding my tea party as promised. The venue is
open air so no air con so very hot lah. So I would like to have it from
6pm to 11pm. Ang Moh Carrot cakes, various types of cakes and kuehs,
pies and BBQ chicken wings will be served with coffee and tea. Wines and
Beers not on the menu so BYO. It is actually a tea party so chicken
