Hi All,

Firstly I would like to thank all those who turned up at the last jam on 15 Jul. Though most of you do not do line dance on a regular basis and some don’t even dance but you still turned up to give support, thank you, thank you, thank you.

Now it’s time again for another 5 hours of non-stop dancing at Kovan CC and I hope to see all of you again.

Andrew ‘Young", you need not wait a 1000 years or more….the dance will be on the list so hope you can dance to your heart’s content …. that is if you are no in HK on that day…then you may have to wait for the next 1000 years

Pauline, since you were so hardworking learning the Shy Waltz from your ‘sifu’ I will also include this dance for you if you are coming

For the ‘E Sliders’ there will always be 1 dance at least for all of you and maybe a few more easy to follow dances.

Calling all Line dancers (and non-line  dancers too)

Time again to put on your dancing shoes and bring a few friends to join us for 5 hours of non-stop line dancing on a Sunday afternoon.

For those who do not dance, you can bring your bottle of ‘lethal’ or ‘non-lethal’ liquids, some snacks, kick off your shoes, sit back and relax to some good old music (mostly country western) and watch people dance (if you want to)

I will put up the dance list after I have collated all the requests, so if you have any favourite dances you want to do then please send me a request via e-mail or through this thread and I will try my best to put them on the list. For non-dancers I can take requests if you have any favourite songs of yours you want me to play too ….that is provided I can find a dance to the songs and there are at least 10 people who can do the dance.

As this is not a strictly SHC event, you can bring your friends along  and have some fun too… yeeehaaaa

As usual for those who have forgotten the steps or want to learn a few more dances for the jam, you are welcome to come to my classes for some practice sessions starting this week for a nominal fee of $5.00 which will cover all the practice sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays

I am doing a strictly line dance jam at Paya Lebar Kovan CC for  my student groups and the public and would like to extend my invitation to all the line dance enthusiasts in SHC to come join us for 4 hours of non-stop dancing. For those who do not dance, you may want to bring your wine/beer/makanan then sit back relax and listen to the songs (about 60 to 70 songs) and watch people dance.

Elementary Line Dance Class

I am starting an elementary Line Dance class on 21 Jan 2010 at Cheng San CC. Currently I have 4 French ladies and 1 French gentlemen who are keen to take up the class and we are now looking for more people to join the class. Details are as follows

Commencement date : 21 Jan 2010 (with a 1 week break on Feb 11 for the CNY holiday)

I will be bringing a group of my students to an All Country Line Dance Nite at Leng Kee CC on Saturday 19th Sep and if anyone of you are keen to join us in the dancing or just sit back and listen to some Country Western songs you are more then welcome to join us for the event.

I am trying to teach/revise as many dances as possible from the dance list in my ongoing classes now and if anyone would like to come for the classes on ad-hoc basis or sign on the course, you are more than welcome. Ad-hoc classes are chareged at $7 per lesson (1.5 hrs) but for SHC member I am giving this at $6. For regular course fee please refer to individual CC for their rates.

Class Schedule are as follows:

Mondays – 9.30am to 11.30am – Toa Payoh CC – Beginner and lower inter

               – 7.30pm to 9.30pm – Yio Chu Kang CC – Inter

Wednesday – 8.15pm to 10.00pm – Toa Payoh Central CC – Beginner & Lower Inter (pls note CC will be   closed from 18 Aug to 28 Aug for renovation work)

Thursdays – 9.00am to 10.30am – Kovan Paya Lebar CC – Inter (Slow n easy)

                    7.30pm to 8.30pm – Cheng San CC – Upper Beginner

 Alternatively I am availabe on Tuesday and Friday nights and if those who are going can find a place and suitable time for all, I can do a special class just for this function.

There will be slots for requests on that night so if you have any dances that you would like to do, pls let me know and I will forward this to the orgainser and see if they can slot them in, but please make sure that these must be country ones hor as the theme of the the dance is "I’m from the Country"  and the organiser will be doing a walk through/Teach of this dance too

Calling all shutterbugs……there will be a free practical photography at Singapore Botanical Gardens on 11th April 09 from 9am to 12 noon.

This will be conducted by my instructor who is an avid and experienced photographer for many years. He had just led and group of us to Java and Bali for 11 days of photography trips where he also shared a lot of tips with us. My photography instructor is organsiing a photograpy trip to Indonesia from 14th to 24 Feb. Places covered are Bandung, Borodudur,Mt Bruno and Bali and many stops in between. There are currently 8 of us with air tickets all booked with Jetstar. The land tour is about S$1000 (+/-) depending on the actual no. of pax. This is a special itinerary arranged for tour and photo taking so there will be limited shopping involved..we will be armed with cameras, SD and CF cards but  not credit cards

Hi all,

Am a newbie to the Club (thanks to BBCat) and look forward to join the fellow club members in some of the activities.

I am a CPA but now working only on part-time basis (enough of the high stress JOB so now taking things easy) I also teach Line Dancing in the CCs and that is my only form of excersing for now .

I have just taken up a new hobby in Basic Photpgraphy in Jun and still learning the ropes…….any felllow photography enthusiats out there looking for kakis to go for photo shoot?

I enjoy the outdoor activities like fishing, camping, cycling( have not been on a bike for many years and will be keen to pick this up again) . Did stained glass, pan clay, macrame, cross sttich embroidery and beading in the past too but now eye sight not as good liao sigh .

Enjoy the occasional MJ game too but not a good player, will sing a few lines at karaoke and Oh yes I live to eat  and will never say no especially to seafood …….. yummy yum yum

Would love to attend the 15 Oct member’s get together but I have an evening class to teach so will be a bit tough to make it on time…..will try to see if I can re-schedule my work hours to go to the 3.00pm session.

Looking forward to be part of the SHC and hope I can do my (small) to help/serve in any way.
