Anyone interested to participate in Drama (acting)?

"If you have SilverHairs at heart, and likes to organise activities for SHC"  –  I just joined SilverHairs a few minutes ago as I would like to lead a group of ‘Drama / Acting Enthusiasts’ in SHC. I had just finished my 3 years programme of ‘Theatre for Seniors’ with The Necessary Stage and had 3 public performance experiences. This 3yrs programme was encouraged & sponsored by Council for Third Age on ‘Active Aging’. I would love to meet up for a discussion so that I can share more on this and answer whatever queries before your club decide to start the class.  Cheers!

Facial Kua-Sa (Ladies Only) – Hands-on Workshop 14/May/2011(Sat)

Hi

I will like to share my experiment of facial Kua-sa with those ladies’ who are interested to have a younger looking skin.

I am not a professional Beautician by trade but I picked up this Facial Kua-Sa a few years back and have benefitted from it . I  have  be using this method to do monthly facial on my own at home and have save money for not visiting the SPA.   A few SHC members have see the result of this  facial Kua-sa .

I have very bad pigmentation as I am always under the hot-sun with my kids’s outdoor activities. With this facial method  –  it have lighten the pigmentation ,  lift-up the skin around the Cheeks where it will always form a "Pa-Zhi" as we age. It helps to soften wrinkles on the fore-head as well as crow-feet  around the eyes.

This  facial Kua-Sa will help blood-circumlate around  the facial area which result in a more radiant  & growing skin.

So , all the "Ai-Swee" ladies who are interested … Sign in for a morning class at Cafe.

Venue : "Bra" Cafe

Date : 14/May/2011(Sat)     Time : 10.00Am – 12.00 Noon

A dance competition

This may sound like a joke from someone who cannot dance and who cannot tell one dance from another.  Well, I have been thinking that if we have a dance competition, it might be something different, from the regular dance events.

Assuming we dream on, and if we have a dance competition, I would think we should have a big round or square dance floor.  Smooth, flat and supposedly for dancing, and contestants gliding and sweeping from corner to corner.  Guests would sit around the dance floor, with the judges somewhere right in front.

Maybe we should have two hosts – a guy and a gal, to introduce the contestants and the judges.  Music would be played in the background.  Then, it would be nice to have an interval where perhaps the guests can dance too.

Now to the dancing bit.  Since there are so many different types of dancing, I would think we can keep this variety open.  So, the Russian dancers and the turkish dancers will get a chance to compete too.  Contestants get a chance to pick their own music.  Great, exciting, how about the taiwanese drama theme song LOVE.  The judges decision is final, altho I think some audience participation is always welcome.

Hmm, must have prizes too.  But, we cannot afford expensive ones.  We have to think about it.  Perhaps, three trophies – diamond, platinum and crystal.

So, we need judges, the two hosts, a dance floor, 3 prizes, some cassette tapes, aiyah no food, just some tea and cocktails, a video camera, and a planner so that the schedule turns out in the right order.  What else do we need?  Oops, I forgot we need the participating dancers.

No date yet, no place yet and no committee yet.  No EO yet.  Please share your ideas?  the crazier, the better.  Dont have to be professional.  Do it the SHC way, some disorganisation is always fun.  Like they say, some cock up is good.

Free Bhangra tryout

Is anyone interested to join me for a free Bhangra tryout on Sunday 1-2pm on level 5 of the Sikh Centre, next to Silat Road Sikh Temple. Opposite SGH and at the very beginning of Jalan Bukit Merah.

I’ve attached a map here:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=8+Jalan+Bukit+Merah%2C++Singapore+169543%2C+Singapore%2C+Singapore

For those who interested to join their regular workout, you can join their class at Jln Bukit Merah or organize your own class.  They can provide an instructor for a class of 5-12 persons at $75 per session, so the more students you have, the cheaper the class will be.  We will have to find our own venue and that’s a seperate charge.

Do let me know by Saturday morning so I can let the instructor know how many of us are coming for the free tryout.

Alternatively I am availabe on Tuesday and Friday nights and if those who are going can find a place and suitable time for all, I can do a special class just for this function.

There will be slots for requests on that night so if you have any dances that you would like to do, pls let me know and I will forward this to the orgainser and see if they can slot them in, but please make sure that these must be country ones hor as the theme of the the dance is "I’m from the Country"  and the organiser will be doing a walk through/Teach of this dance too
