How much do you know about DECEMBER?
The 12th and final month of the year in our modern-day Gregorian Calendar. However, did you know it was originally the 10th month of the Roman calendar until 153 BC. Hence, December comes from the Latin word decem, meaning “ten”. Later, the months of January and February were created out of the monthless period and added to the beginning of the calendar, but December retained its name.
Born in December are considered special, according to science. They are either Sagittarius or Capricorn. Sagittarians are known to be extremely generous, idealistic, and downright hilarious.
Five (5) scientifically proven benefits of being born during the holiday season: –
- They are more likely to live longer – higher chances of living up to the age of 105, or even longer.
- They are less irritable – being born in winter months, showed fewer temper tantrums which means they are nicer people.
- They are pretty healthy – have a lower risk of developing major health conditions, including cardiovascular disease.
- They are a morning person – though there are plentiful ones born in other months, born in December tend to follow this golden rule – Early to Bed, and Early to Rise.
- They are Rare – it’s a fact that babies are considered rare, especially if they are born on Christmas Day, December 25, making it more special.

On behalf of SilverHairsClub – we would like to wish those SHCians born to this month a wonderful HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
PS – do drop a line or 2 to greet them a joyous month!

NO TRICK OR TREAT THIS HALLOWEEN
Halloween is lurking just around the corner but the coronavirus pandemic and current restrictions limit us from engaging such high-risk activity especially for the young ones.

Safe things to do on Halloween at home:-
- Watch Halloween Movie Marathon
- Candy Hunts with your grandchildren – hide it around your house or backyard for them to find
- Hold a Zoom costume party with loved ones abroad – get dressed up and see who is the most creative youngster
- Decorate Halloween themed face mask
- Tell a ghost story – really love the Legend of the Sleepy Hollow
Many more ideas you can think of to interact with your grandchildren.
We need to slow down current community transmission which have doubled or tripled over the past weeks. Do take extra precautions to safeguard the wellbeing of our seniors as well as juniors and to seek medical attention immediately if they are unwell.
Just stay in on Halloween, let’s work together to help stop the spread of coronavirus and protect our family.

Collecting commision from advertising, promoting, introduction or selling products or services to SHC members
It has come to my attention that some members get a commission when introducing other members to external courses including skills development or skill credits courses.
In concept, it sounds like “Why not?” when the cause is good.
SHC was developed as a free platform. It incurs costs in operating the Club. However, some members are unwilling to contribute to a SHC startup operating fund. And they use our members and forum to advertise and collect monetary benefits in return.
The club will be reviewng this situation.
