Hi girls,
FYI , It’s free, The talk is on painful periods & related complications
No politics, religion, sex, race, direct selling & MLM. For Singaporeans & PRs, over 45.
Going to a concert, seminar or a talk. And, you like other SHC members to attend to.
Hi girls,
FYI , It’s free, The talk is on painful periods & related complications
Last night was the most memorable night for our Stars in concert. They gave us a fantastic performance on stage, complete with songs from different languages, dialects, costumes and dance background. The Stars poured out their hearts, and drew emotions of friendship and closeness.
True to SilverHairs, the audience gave their hearts back in return too. They screamed, yell, whistle, stand and clap to see their fellow SilverHairs friends, expressing their love, sadness and joy. Standing or sitting in the auditorium, one would have felt the immense closeness between audience and Stars.
After exactly two years of conceptualising Stars-in-Concert, we had a wonderful and dedicated committee to make this event come wildy memorable. A truly heartwarming evening indeed. I hope you have enjoyed the concert.
On behalf of the committee, and everybody who had a hand in the show.

We have always been looking for small places to hold talks. But very often, the venue does not give us the flexibility or the tools to hold small talks. Please look around; and if you have some suggestions for a avenue which fits our needs, please raise your hand.
Know of such a place? Terence Seah
There must be some lucky ones amongst us. But, by now, many of us must have also looked at our retirement investment statements many times over, and see that we have lost some 50% of the money we have put in as retirement investments. Time for session 3. Likely an evening, and likely during a weekday. Depends on the speakers.
Before I put up a date, may I have speakers or moderators to put up their hands. Topic can be on forex trading, currency pairs, gold, property or simply cash under the bed. It’s really up to you. Use this as an opportunity to share.
This event is now set and fixed as follows:

This Fri 17 Oct 2008, Roger Lim has offered to moderate the second session on "Managing retirement investments – equities".
Roger specialises in stocks, and would like his session limited to stocks. If you have any questions or concerns, Roger requests you to table them here. Thank you Roger.
Meantime, we are trying to see if we can get another person to lead on the topic of USD going forward. Will keep you informed.
The earlier Post is https://silverhairsclub.com/2008/09/2139.
If you would like to come, please do let us know.

Registration List:
One way or another, we are affected by the US financial crisis. This has significantly reduced our retirement savings and CPF investments. Lehman has just filed for bankruptcy protection while Merrill Lynch may soon be sold to Bank of America.
I would like to advance and hold a series of talks where SilverHairs can share their personal investment philosophy and how they are currently managing their investment portfolio. We may not have the answers, but I believe sharing this topic is key to keeping a sober head on our retirement plans.
Charles Chua has made the first offer to share with us his personal investment story. Fellow SilverHairs who wish to share their story are encouraged to let me know here. The dates and time have not been selected, but likely will be held on a weekday.
For those unable to attend or are overseas, you may log into SHC Online at star-conference.com to hear and view the sessions live. Any feedback to improve these sessions and benefit fellow SilverHairs appreciated. Terence Seah

Make a date to meet Patrick Khoo from 2.00pm onwards at Asian Civilizations Museum(next to Victoria Memorial and near the statue of Sir Stamford Raffles…for deatailed map log on to www.acm.org.sg or drop me an email at insiders111@yahoo.com.sg and I will send you an email with map and full day programme).
Besides the free ticket to HCMC Lucky Draw(just fill form…don’t have to be present)I will give you(not me actually) free Milo welcome drink for all and balloons for your kids.My booth will have a lucky dip where you will have a chance to win a exquisite Vietnamese embroidery painting,Vietnamese hats, caps (not those made in France)and T-shirts.The ?th (number connected with my date of birth)SHC member who visits my booth if he does get a prize in the lucky dip will be guaranteed (fixed legally) to win a Vietnamese hat from me.
This exhibit is the same as Steven Chan’s post in June but the programme for the whole day which starts at 11.00am is different. I would suggest you come from 2.00pm onwards to see the martial arts experts from Vietnam and they will be followed by 5 hot ladies from an all girl pop fusion band.Admission is free instead of the usual S$8.There will also be perfomances from award winning modern dancers, story telling for kids,Games for young and silverhairs, free lessons on how to make water fairy puppets and paper lanterns.
There will be a special preview of a Silverhair HCMC/Nha Trang(no swimming in seas due Monsoon season)/Cantho City Tour with itinerary based on recommendations and input from experienced Viet Trippers like Kenneth Tan,Dee Ang,Lena Wang,Jassmine Teo and last but not least the effervescent Steven Chan(maps were useful). This tour is based on clean and comfortable budget accomodation and outstanding exotic food like Tamarind Crab,Elephant ear fish,Vietnamese seafood dinner,BBQ dinner,Giant rice balls, gourmet lunch by hotel resort chef ,outstanding French restaurant and visit to ice cream parlour.Other highlights include visit to Hot Spring Mineral bath and waterfalls,a light sleeper luxury train overnight from HCMC/Nha Trang/HCMCvisit to Pearl Farm and a chance to see the Ghe Cho Festival in Cantho where you will see the incandescent paper lanterns powered by burning oil careen into the air(yes these lanterns actually fly as seen in an Andy Lau movie). This tour is from 08Nov to 16Nov based on minimum 15 to go.(if numbers are less than 15 the rates will be higher with no Singapore Tour Leader Escort).Final pricing and basic itinerary will be posted in the forum when prices are finalised. This special tour is not a typical standard tour but has been specially designed to meet SHC tastes and can be tailored to suit SHC members needs and budget eg Pearl Farm tour can be chopped if 100km travel from Nha Trang is considered too long a journey.Number of days can also be shortened if budget turns out to be high.
The other programmes at this "Vietnam experience" include Vietnamese food and mooncakes , an outdoor pop fusion concert and other entertainment from 8.00pm to 11.00pm.Of course you will a 2nd chance to see the interesting museum exhibits from Vietnam if you missed it the 1st time with Steven.
If you are a CITIBANK clear card holder you will get a $60 per couple discount for our Vietnam Spa promotion.
If you drop a deposit for any of our other tours for that day you will be entitled to a $30 discount(normally given to travel agents) from our standard tour prices.
Bring your kids along and have a fun time and get a chance to win interesting prizes(Anybody wants to baby sit the Big Baby and keep me company are welcome…will buy you a drink…not Milo of course).Cheers!

This event is now firmed for Sun 11 Jan 2009. Will this be a dream come true? "Stars in Concert".
"Stars in Concert" is organised 100% by SilverHairsClub members. It’s a concert, not a karaoke and not a talentime. A solid 1 hour 15 mins evening of entertainment of non-stop singing performance. Music and lights are a part of the evening. An estimated 200 persons in attendance.
Performers on stage can perform solo, duets or in groups. Everybody on stage will be dressed in their best, red lipsticks, polished shoes, straightened hair, and look smashing from far. For the audience, Cheongsams would be a delight; a tie would be great. No shorts, slippers, singlets.
Performers cannot just come up to the stage to sing and perform. There will be an audition. Participants would be required to submit a recorded CD of their song performance. Any language, any dialect. Preference given to groups or duets.

Dear SHC Members,
I feel honored to be given this task of organizing SHC the concert. All this while, I have been toying with the idea of a big bang showcase of talents from within SHC and also the hiring of a large auditorium etc. It was just awhile ago that a little “tweety bird” flew by and whispered that we could start off first with mini concerts at old folk Homes. Thanks, little birdie!! The task suddenly became easier to fulfill!!
With this in mind, I am redressing my outlook and am now embarking on looking for artiste/s within our midst who would like to volunteer their time and services to come and start the ball rolling.
For ease of stage presentation, I would like to name this sub-group as… SHC Music & Dance Troupe. Sounds a little old, never mind lets just move along and see what happens next. Right now, the priority is to round up as many interested members as possible and we shall see how we could program an exciting showcase with whatever we have….mini bang!!
