Happy Birthday SEPTEMBER-Born

What is special about being born in September?

They are either a Virgo or a Libra, and both of these signs are regarded to be a realist – kind and selfless approach to life. They are also more sociable, harmonious and love to help those in need!

We talk a little bit more about…… VIRGOANs

Virgos are known for being gifted n “attention to detail” person.  They can be finicky and critical to a fault, call them a Clean Freak.

Librans are diplomatic balance-seekers who appreciate fairness. Intelligent n kind, always put others before themselves.

Below are the Personality Traits That Make Them Charming (in a way…)

  • Open-minded, may get anxious at times
  • Quite polite, may get bored quite easily
  • Want things to be done in their way
  • Fond of books, work hard to achieve their goals
  • Quite affectionate towards others
  • Hate wasting food

Do you see all these similarity behaviors within your friends? Well, if you do, please wish them a delightful birth month.

On behalf of SilverHairsClub……….

PS – do drop a line or 2 to greet them a joyous month!

Celebrating NDP from our HOME

Though limitations might mean a toned-down National Day this year, there are still a variety of ways we can celebrate and show our national pride at home, be it virtual and some gathering amongst families.

However, do try to minimize the numbers in group outings and also try to keep to the restrictions set to avoid potential exposure to the virus.

For gatherings with closed ones at home – most F&B Outlets can only open for takeaway and/or delivery during this period and as for dining-in do look out for the latest announcement.

Let your fingers do the walking and explore how you can bring NDP nearer to you. Click on the link to discover more… be it, to catch the moments in person or through live broadcasts over our coloured gogglebox and online platforms – a list of activities to be engaged through out your day.

SHC team of Weekend Warriors Zoom Meeting with Vintage Radio – 30 July

On the morning of 30 July, SHC team of past and future weekend warriors had a zoom session with Aloysius and Kevin of Vintage RadioSG. Many of our members were also with us to enjoy the morning chit chat with our guests.  Hopefully, they will be inspired to be the future weekend warriors.

It was a reunion for past warriors who had the great experience to deejay a recording session with Aloysius and his team. All we needed to do is to showcase our 10 favorite songs and what the songs meant to us. Under Aloysius’ guidance, we sounded calmed and collected, making the whole session fun and we looked cool.

It was indeed a privileged for me to be their pioneer WW in Nov 2020. I shared the thrilling experience with our members in our zoom sessions, many have participated and have received great compliments. Two members will be called shortly for their recordings.

Aloysius updated us on what’s happening on the Vintage Radio and its various platform whereby seniors can take a peek at his/her own leisure.  E.g National Silver Academy , C3A and the videos covering NSA e-Nuggets series.

Do check in the zoom recording to hear what we discuss and gain more exposure from Vintage Radio.

Take this opportunity to say “Yah! I wanna to be a deejay, and be heard over the soundwave, have the opportunity of play my favourite songs.”

Make this your next challenge in your bucket list. Life is more interesting as we explore new boundaries.

Do let me know and we get in touch.

Thanks.

Personality Traits of August-born That Make Them Exceptional

Those born in August are either Leos or Virgos. They are very strong people, physically and mentally, undeniably strong-willed, confident and some says proud…  Thanks to the combination of 2 great sets of personality traits.

What kind of person is your LEO friend? A passionate, warm-hearted, humorous and cheerful individual fun to be with – this “King of the Jungle” rules with self-confidence, dominant and irresistible…

Virgoans, on the other hand, do have appealing personality traits – explicitly, organized, precise and detailed-oriented. They are dependable and also practical people.  They are charismatic too but theirs is a quiet charisma.

Some said to be arrogant yet humble. Straightforward and honest – they are friends who will never sugarcoat anything and only choose those worthies of their time. And if they love you, they really do and will give you all they have.

If you have any friends in mind who fit the August bill, please do wish them a wonderful birthday month.

On behalf of SilverHairsClub – we’d like to wish all the August babies an amazing month.

PS – do drop a line or 2 to all who are celebrating their annual natal day…

SHC Cycling – Finally Rolled Out

The long waited SHC cycling event finally went on smoothly on:
Date : 17July 2021
Meeting Point : “Go Cycling” Bike Rental Kiosk
Time : 1630hrs for those that need to rent the bicycle
(Supposed to start at 1700hrs but was slightly delayed as some arrived abit late)
Destination : ECP ===> MBS

A total of 10 members were there to kick start this event:
1) DouglasC – EO
2) Ronald Lam – CoEO
3) AndrewK
4) JasmineW
5) JohnH
6) BobbyB
7) DollyL

Sadly that YK was only to meet later on the our return to rental kiosk after cycling.

Despite of slight delay, weather was hot and humid but all members shown great enthusiasm with SereneL started to cycle first with the rest of us followed up later.  Many pics attached can attest.

Bonding can be seen amongst members from the starting point to Tanjong Rhu (1st rest point) finally to MBS.  As much as everyone wanted to mingle around but was constantly kept reminding by DouglasC and RonaldL for safe distancing measures.  Kudos to DouglasC and RonaldL.

While 3 of us continued to cycle further and stopped to watch NDay rehearsal but the rest need to get back to rental kiosk due to time constraint and proceed to have dinner at EC food centre.  As for us, we had a dinner at St Marc while cycling to ECP.

Hope that SHC monthly cycling event will continue henceforth from now… Cheers..

Interesting Qualities of July-born

Those born in July are either Cancer (June 21 – July 22), a symbol of Crab OR Leo (July 23 – Aug 22), a symbol of Lion…

True or False

A lady born in July is noble, very timid and occasionally stingy.  She is good at cooking. A one in a million lady – not open to criticism – for sure you don’t really want to get near because she won’t take it.

July-born man seems to wear a frown on his forehead. Quite introverted and is indeed a family guy. Loves art and painting. Not someone whom you will consider very generous or let’s just say he is a big fan of money.

On behalf of SilverHairsClub – we’d like to wish all the July babies an amazing month.

PS – do drop a line or 2 to all who are celebrating their birthday month…HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

SHC Admin Role – to ASSIST or OVER-RULE

Ever since I am being appointed as SHC Admin in the SilverHairsClub.Com, I do have throngs of members speaking ill of me, not only in their circle of groups / one to one verbal n msg / etc… just to mention a few.

These inconsiderate beings who have nothing better to do with their spare time but rather spike / malign / defame / criticize about others.

Before going forward to do all these – take a look at yourself in the mirror – are you the Mr n Ms Perfect – if not, refrain from doing so – coz such ill ions in our human body will only do more harm to us causing anxiety, irritability, breathing difficulty and again just to name a few.

Majority of SHCians are half-century-old. What do we gain out of it by maliciously, viciously spiking at others?  I, for sure, gain nothing out of being SHC Admin, this is a voluntary role which I believe no one loves to suck on it.  But if anyone is interested, he or she is most welcome to take over any time.

What prompt me to write this post?  Coz time and time again, I do receive such hateful remarks and maybe who knows my ancestor might have provoked theirs…. Hahahaha…. And this is my payback time?  Don’t forget this old saying…. “What goes around comes around?”

I would truly love to hear more honest feedback from this post… all comments are welcome.  Thank you.

Update on my hospital adventure Jun 2021

I realise that I have been losing energy and feeling breathless last one year. Late last year, TTSH docs advised me to be prepared for water dialysis. Sounds like an exciting adventure and stage of my life.

Last Monday, I was admitted to TTSH for suspected fever and infection. The hospital also drew 2 kg of water making my weight now 72kg, instead of 75kg when I arrived.

Well, today the advice is to start blood dialysis quickly today.

I have been getting queries from members. And in order not to have bits and pieces of information from diff sources, I shall update this Post regularly.

I am fine mentally. SHC will move on, We are making arrangements to plan forward next 5-10 years. I am glad to have very strong support from Jean Lim. And the many members, pioneer and newer, who believe in the SHC objective. Tq.

SHC Private Home Cooking Services – Part 2

This week session [05 June 2021] is hosted by Ms Josephine Wong – another one of our SHC foodie cum private chef. Went to SHATEC to build her foundation… who has an ardent interest in food – eats not only out of hunger but also as a hobby – someone who enjoys cooking for family and pleasure.

This day, she shares with us her passion…

I am sure we do have many more like-minded SHCians who are very good in cooking.  Food is one of the most powerful connective tools we have. To build our bonds over a meal – FOOD indeed is a shared cultural product.

Do come forward to host and share with us what your family and friends like most.

Individual born in JUNE – What it says about you!

Born in the 6th month of the year, JuneBs are known to be social butterflies because of their outgoing, charismatic, charming and creative traits… even though they can be more than a handful at times due to their extremely inquisitive and childlike optimistic nature.  They are great communicators and can easily attracts everyone’s attention.  Sensitive and caring towards other’s feelings.

The month in which you were born fall under the sign of Gemini, can reveal a lot more than you think about who you are as a person both on the inside and on the outside.  June’s birthstone is a pearl, which represents innocence and purity.  Often talkative, they enjoy debating and getting into deep conversations where they can exercise their active minds.

On behalf of SilverHairsClub – we’d like to wish all the June babies an amazing month.
